Despite this being part of the “premium” package, it’s junk. This does nothing to “guard” anything. Maybe one in three calls are flagged by this app. It flagged a local medical office as spam, also. When its turned on, same Spam calls come through. Calls that never came until I installed this horrible app. Plus it spies on the phone. I’m done. It also has to authenticate every time I open the app which half the time it stalls out and never lets me in. Another shockingly bad internet product from Xfinity. Their website barely functions in general. I don’t understand how an internet provider can do such a bad job at creating content for the internet. ### 1/5 — Not sure the point *2025-07-03* I don’t understand why this app even exists. I get the same call every business day. It is always the same voicemail from a robot, but it comes in from a different number and area code every time. This app doesn’t do anything to prevent this call from coming in and annoying me. Xfinity should be paying me to use this app, not me paying for it to be used. Now they want in your contacts, I read in some states they even collect health info from those who are blind. That was their one example. I think it was Washington & one other. When is this going to stop. This app isn’t something that isn’t already available don’t answer the phone or in settings. I’d be content with a landline if I didn’t have to use the internet is there phone lines anymore? This is crazy ### 1/5 — Defective useless *2026-07-07* I never had so much spam until I switched to Xfinity mobile. I’ve called twice to have them resolve it. I use the call guard and phone settings - still get spam. This doesn’t do jack. It allows calls to get through just silences them and not leave voicemails. I have every single set the correct way to block I still get phone calls coming through.! Don’t waste your time honestly switch carriers because Comcast/Xfinity has gone downhill! What used to be a feature now you have to pay an increase cost for this feature ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2026-06-04* I got the premium unlimited mobile plan, specifically to stop the number of robocalls I get daily. I’m pretty tech savvy and no matter how I adjust the settings in the app, most of the robocalls still get through. It’s very disappointing. So I went back to my old mobile plan that doesn’t include Xfinity Call Guard. I’ll just have to deal with the annoying robocalls I get on the daily. I downloaded this app, but it only works with “Premium Unlimited!” Even though I’m paying for Unlimited, Xfinity can’t block spam?! How could blocking spam even cost them any more? Horrible practice and anti-consumer. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2026-02-17* Xfinity shields very few VOIP calls. They do next to nothing to prevent VOIP spam. I recently switched to Xfinity Mobile and this was included in the Premium Unlimited plan. I’d been getting a lot of Spam calls about loans but this has been catching most of them. I love that you can also not allow them to leave a voicemail. Make sure you set up the app correctly and give it the required permissions. Also, make sure it’s supported on your phone plan. ### 4/5 — Getting better *2026-04-15* Re-reviewing this because it seems to be improving, catches a lot more spam calls now (and I’m getting more than ever so it’s helpful) ### 4/5 — Add Text Filtering Next Please *2025-05-30* Would really like to see this app include spam filtering for texts on iOS. This was added in ATT’s ActiveArmor but as a new Xfinity customer I would like to see this added! ### 2/5 — Fails to recognize some calls *2026-06-04* This app fails to recognize certain calls that my iPhone registers. When I use the “search” feature it tells me that the number has not contacted me recently yet my iPhone shows the number called today. ### 2/5 — Less effective recently *2026-04-22* Was working well just a couple months ago but now I’m getting several spam calls that make it through a day. I report each number, and hope other are too. In any case, for whatever reason it’s not working as well these days. Perhaps adding filter options could help.
