And add in useful database features like that? Seriously almost a useless and very cumbersome app to use - wish I hadn't wasted money on the dongle since I end up manually entering data into chronolog. Also the color scheme is just awful, not the easiest on the eyes, but that's me being nit-picky, I just hope they add functionality, or give apps like Chronolog access ..... ### 3/5 — Won't load on iPhone *2016-06-30* I give 3 stars because it will not load on my iPhone, I selected both iPhone and iPad, as I have both, but it iwll not go onto the iPhone. What's with this? AS for working, yes it does exactly what is claimed, but in my case I must use my iPad, which is not the most convenient if I am at the range. From my iPad I can e-mail results to myself, and import into Excel with no issues. It is as others have said a bit clumsy to use, and the red/black screen is not the best outside. A black/white or white/black display would work much better. ### 1/5 — Great idea bad program *2016-03-27, version 1.0* This sounds great but I have only got it to sync one out of 50+ attempts. They need to focus on getting the app working before peddling it. ### 3/5 — A lot of potential *2015-12-23* There is a lot of potential with this app. If the developer added a way to sort and organize the data so you could store different data sets as well as make it easier to configure the display box. With work it could be great, hope they continue to update the app. ### 1/5 — Not a very good app *2015-08-29* First, color scheme is horrible. Needs to be user adjustable or less cartoonish. It doesn't sync right away. I have to unplug the iPhone and plug it back in. Then, every time I have to do a delayed sync. What's that about? Emailed pictures are hardly legible. There's no active syncing. Why can't the magneto speed send data instantly! Lastly, no iCloud syncing. Would be nice to have data show both on iPhone and iPad. Needs a lot of work. Try a nice white color with black letters. Started with 45 Long Colt, had some trouble getting readings. Couple of tries later, got readings, but they were not believable. Results should have been in the 700-900 FPS range, but I had readings of 2500, 1700, 1100, etc. Called MagnetoSpeed, they suggested setting sensitivity to 1, which I will do. Then plugged in the XFR, and played with that for a couple minutes. During this time, I was nagged multiple times in a few minutes for a review. There was no apparent way to say “not now” that lasted more than 30 seconds. You want a review - here it is......nagware rates a 1, regardless of how good the rest of the product is. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iPhone X *2019-04-06* Waste of money. Easier than any other chrono I've tried. Consistent results. So I assumed the adapter and app would work. Cannot sync to iPad or iPhone. I returned for replacement, same results. Contacted magnetospeed, they replied to adjust my volume seatings. Tried every volume setting from low to high. Wished I had read the reviews first. ### 1/5 — Please improve this app *2016-08-17* Please invest in improving this app so that it is worthy of your brand and product. The Caldwell app is 10x better providing bullet data, ballistic coefficient, environmental data (temperature and pressure altitude) and photo log capability. To add insult to injury, the Caldwell chronograph is a third the price as the Magnetospeed V3. Please reinvest in this app. I assure you that your reputation, sales and customer satisfaction will all improve. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great system *2025-03-26* It’s a great system that is easily set up and I love the fact you don’t have to call a cold range to set it up. ### 5/5 — Brilliant app for recording and editing shot groups using Magnetospeed V3 *2020-08-13* I have been using the Magnetospeed V3 for about a year now and it is without any doubt the best chronograph on the market. I also purchased the Magnetospeed XFR and connected it to my iPhone 11 Pro Max using the Apple lightening to 3.5mm connector. It works perfectly. It is so cool to be able to capture my shot groups on my iPhone while at the range and edit and make notes as needed.
