### 3/5 — Doesn't allow auto-correct :(

*2026-05-20, version 3.1*

.

### 2/5 — Why is this pay to use?

*2026-05-19*

I wanted to use this to make a keyboard for a conlang I’m working on and thought that this was a good app to choose, I was wrong. To use a keyboard that I made I have to pay to use it and it also doesn’t help that the “help” button doesn’t really do much to help you get characters onto your keyboard. I was really confused about how to do it, literally nothing I did work. This had huge potential if you could use the keyboard you made. But you have to BUY to use which doesn’t make sense. And I don’t believe I’m high or anything. Seriously, fix these two main issues and it is a five star rating.

### 2/5 — Can’t do anything without paying

*2026-05-12, version 3.1*

It’s fun to make keyboards, but I want to be able to use them, or at least copy and paste them for free. Is that too much to ask?

### 2/5 — Why

*2026-05-08, version 3.1*

Ok so the app is good but the only bad part I hate is how I need to BUY the custom keyboard I made… it took hours designing the custom keyboard just to realize that I need to pay 7$.

### 3/5 — カスタムキーボードインストール不可

*2026-04-24*

お金払ったのにインストールできなくて使えません購入後、再インストールで治った

### 4/5 — paid?

*2026-04-19, version 3.1*

umm, not by any means a "bad choice" as this is a very powerful tool for a mobile app. however, if i must pay $7 dollars to even start to use the app i intended it to use for, i might just simply not use it. i wont pay, so i apologize, but it really did kind of ruin my dreams of making a custom form of english.

this however does not mean the app is completely useless.
it really does seem like a powerhouse of a tool, but i dont think there's enough confidence in the world of conlanging to pay $7 dollars for just full time use for a keyboard they arent sure anyone will ever use. it's little, but there are certainly younger conlangers like me that just simply want to have a keyboard for my language.

that's all, have a great day!! nice app :3

### 4/5 — Horrible!!!

*2026-03-19, version 3.1*

It is hard to figure out. There's no swipe and you cannot move the cursor with the spacebar.

### 4/5 — Good

*2026-02-21, version 3.1*

Every once in a while it loads regular keyboard insteaf of custom one sometimes

### 2/5 — Swipe

*2025-12-14, version 3.1*

Why no swipe option when typing??

### 3/5 — Cap Lock would be a good thing to have.

*2025-08-29, version 3.1*

Constantly hitting the Cap button while typing acronyms could be eliminated, making for a better experience.

### 3/5 — Great but you need VIP

*2025-08-17, version 3.0*

This app is amazing in its ability to customize a keyboard. Unfortunately, if you want to use your custom keyboard, you need to get VIP. I’d rate this 5 stars if this wasn’t the case. I’d rather have a lot of ads between menus than have a paywall behind a basic feature.

### 3/5 — Help

*2025-06-10, version 3.0*

I’m trying to find the Cryllic keyboard so I can type the multiocular o, but it’s not there. Can you please add it?

### 4/5 — highly customizable, wish it had theming

*2025-06-02, version 3.0*

i am in love with how much you can customize your keyboards, however i wish it had the ability to change the colors of things and even put in a background image like in gboard. it also suffers from not having autocorrect or swipe typing

### 3/5 — Worth the purchase

*2024-12-20, version 2.9*

I was in need for a keyboard that can do both Arabic and Kurdish layout, and the only possible way was with this app i am glad i found it

Update: some features thats in iPhone dont work here thats a very big down side

### 4/5 — great app, please add hide on mirroring!

*2024-12-19, version 2.9*

Use this to play cdda on iPhone, made a great keyboard for the games keybinds and menus. Would love to cast the app to a tv and use the keyboard on the phone. Problem is the keyboard even at 50 texts up a lot of the game screen. Offering the ability to exclude the keyboard from the mirrored image would be perfect!

### 4/5 — Good, but can improve

*2024-10-25*

Overall I get a lot of use out of this app, but please let us make dead keys! The dynamic keys we have now aren’t sufficient for many languages. Also, the font or fonts the app uses cannot render all Unicode characters which is a little troublesome.

Those complaints aside thank you for this app. If you study rare languages or scripts this app is a must.

**Developer response:** We will continue to optimize it. Thank you for your suggestions.

### 4/5 — A little complicated but still a great app

*2024-10-04, version 2.7*

The instructions aren’t super clear but other than I love the app

### 1/5 — Can't Change Colors

*2026-05-24, version 3.1*

Looks awful , difgicult yo type on and you cant easily acfrss puncyuation

### 1/5 — Paid

*2026-02-11, version 3.1*

I used to love this app years ago, but now you need to pay $6.99 to use any keyboard you make.

### 1/5 — thought was free

*2025-12-30, version 3.1*

i wasted 1 hour on making a keyboard for the standard galactic alphabet. 1/10.

### 1/5 — Confusing

*2025-09-22*

There are lots of options for what you can do here but they are all wasted on me because I cannot figure out this app. After downloading and deleting multiple times, I have not been able to figure out how to make a custom keyboard, which is why I went on a search for different apps and found one (I won’t mention the name cuz I don’t want this apps popularity to go down)
Please make a tutorial or guide on how to use this because the other app I found is extremely straight forward and has a guide. I have made a custom layout that I want to get serious with but it’s too small in the other app so maybe you guys could make your app simpler to help with the issue (I’m also going to say this issue on the other app in case they fix it first).

**Developer response:** We need to make the operation simpler and clearer, and add more help documents. :-)

### 1/5 — no

*2024-09-27, version 2.6*

its just 2 of the default standard ios keyboards in the free version and it’s 5$ for the full version for anything different than that it’s just not a free app at all

### 1/5 — not able to use additional layout even after purchase

*2024-09-21*

able to use additional layout even after purchase

**Developer response:** This bug is fixed in new version.

### 1/5 — App wont let me in

*2024-08-26, version 2.6*

I wanted to use this app so bad to make my own language keyboard until when I tried getting into the app, it just crashes. I tried so many time just CRASHES, and I restarted my ipad to get it, and it still does it. 😡 Tell me Why it crashing, is it because of a bug, or is something to do with storage thingy, tell me right now 😤😠😡🤬🤬🤬🤬😠😡😠😡😡😤😡😠🤬😠😠😡😠😡🤬🤬🤬😠🤬😤🤬😡😤😡😤😡😠😠😡😡😠🤬😠🤬😠😡😠🤬😠😠😡

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2024-07-13, version 2.6*

You said the free version has what the user desires but I desired to install custom keyboards and it’s paid

### 1/5 — Review

*2024-04-13*

Very bad

### 1/5 — Why would I have to PAY for ABC123?

*2024-04-02, version 2.5*

The whole point of downloading this FREE app is to get 123 on top of my normal QWERTY board. Why should I pay extra $ for this feature!? Better yet, why is this not already an option in the factory keyboard settings? Apple is a F’n joke, and a ripoff! Our company should have opted for an android…

### 5/5 — The best and only app to make a real custom keyboard on iPhone

*2026-07-17*

I’m a linguist who’s very interested in writing systems, so this app is a godsend. Theres nothing else like it at all, and it keeps getting better with new updates. There’s so much you can do, especially with the environment feature that I haven’t even began to mess with yet. It’s intuitive to work with and not too complicated to make what you want in most cases. My only gripes are one or two minor glitches, the fact that not every character in Unicode is included in the character list, and some characters and are rendered as tofu, but that seems like an Apple problem.

### 5/5 — It’s good

*2026-04-22, version 3.1*

𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕒𝕡𝕡 𝕚𝕤 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕪 𝕘𝕠𝕠𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕤 𝕞𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕟𝕥 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕚𝕥𝕤 𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪 𝕤𝕒𝕗𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕖𝕒𝕤𝕪 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕤 𝕒 𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕡 𝕓𝕦𝕥𝕥𝕠𝕟 𝕚𝕗 𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕠𝕤𝕥. 𝕚 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕒𝕡𝕡 𝕦 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕘𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕚𝕥 𝕒 𝕥𝕣𝕪 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕦 𝕞𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕟𝕟𝕒 𝕒𝕕𝕕 autoCorrect 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤

### 5/5 — Powerful, but not too complex

*2026-03-28*

xKeyboard is a surprisingly powerful fully-custom keyboard maker (not just over the top skins on top of your normal keyboard) that still manages to avoid being too obtuse—looking at you, Ukelele (their typo, not mine). Obviously, some complication is needed, but it seems to only be used where necessary, and functionality and use is very self-explanatory (with the occasional hint text).

Anyone into conlangs or smaller minority languages should absolutely look into this app. It misses some creature comforts, like key haptics and Apple‘s press-and-hold-to-move-the-cursor functionality, but it’s absolutely worth it for its incredible functionality.

Also, being able to share your custom layouts with others is a neat extra feature, especially for minority-language communities.

Overall, y‘all did an amazing job on this app. Please continue to update it to keep it functional in later versions of iOS (in case Apple decides to deprecate an old API or something). Thank you so much for time and effort into developing this gem!

### 5/5 — Honest and Useful

*2025-09-17, version 3.1*

App is paid and it is clearly stated, I love that you can test out its features before you buy it to ensure it’s got everything you need. Some features from a normal keyboard are missing which is understandable, I do hope they are added in future if possible

### 5/5 — So cool

*2025-06-10, version 3.0*

Great for Conlangs

### 5/5 — Nice

*2025-06-07, version 3.0*

Apple is awesome overall but has these super-obvious misses like a keyboard with numners. This fixes thst gap.

### 5/5 — Right to Left

*2025-04-01, version 2.9*

Best but one problem, Avestan and Pahlavi is Right to Left language's
and when writing show bug
Please fix this problem

### 5/5 — Absolute Gem

*2024-11-25, version 2.9*

I’ve used this keyboard for a while and it helps me keep my number of installed keyboards down, plus helps me keep the same style across languages—totally customized at that. Old English, Navajo, Vietnamese? No problem.

### 5/5 — Amazingly versatile

*2024-10-11*

This is very versatile! One suggestion: Could the dynamic keys have a boolean option that says "replaces text" and checking that option causes the conditional text to be replaced with the key's output? For example, I would love to be able to type "si" and have it be replaced with "ʃi" for example.

### 5/5 — great for writing code!

*2024-05-04, version 2.5*

i have been looking for a good keyboard for writing code i have been thoroughly impressed with this one!!!
