### 4/5 — Needs Molicel 21700 battery update

*2023-01-18, version 1.71*

Great app I dig it I just wish the creater would update it for molicel 21700 batteries since that is the way of the future for Eboards and not the LION batteries. Any molicel battery info will be completely wrong.

### 3/5 — Battery level no longer shows

*2022-05-23, version 1.71*

App worked great up until 2 months ago. It no longer shows the battery level/charging. I have focbox unity and connects Bluetooth.Really the only reason why I have this app is so I can see my battery level, now there’s no way for me to check it. I updated the firmware and the app as well.

### 4/5 — Question

*2021-07-23*

Is this app compatible with flipsky Vesc 4.0 ?
Thank you

### 4/5 — Update needed

*2021-04-11, version 1.70*

Good app, needs update for 5.2 FW support.

### 4/5 — Review

*2020-09-11, version 1.70*

Works great for kaly nyc

But 2 things

1. Some sort of quick set up shindig where you walk the person through syncing the board and setting gears, battery etc

2 make the real time mph bigger or if we touch the real time speed it gets bigger taking up a chunk of the screen so it’s a easy to read while riding gauge

### 4/5 — Not accurate

*2020-08-30, version 1.70*

When by battery is fully charged, the app shows 93% and 49.3v instead of 50.4 (the battery is brand new and good as verified with a meter). Also speed and distance readings are off. I’m bummed I paid for this app. My friend is having the same issue with it. I’m thinking about getting a cheap android phone just to use for my board.
EDIT: got a new VESC and the battery readout is working now.

### 4/5 — Good between iPhone and Focbox Unity

*2020-08-28, version 1.70*

I’m very surprised with how quick and consistent the connection is between my iPhone and Focbox Unity. My critique is that I’m not able to change between modes, so I’m stuck with the settings I last loaded onto the ESC. I’d like to see more interface customization; specifically being able to customize which parameters you’re viewing, and in what order. That would be a huge plus. The battery gauge on the main screen is a bit glitchy. It says my battery is at 0% when it’s at 40%. Another point to improve is the map. It often automatically zooms back into your current location when you’re trying to zoom out to see where you’ve been. Finally, and most importantly (lofty as it may be), I’d like to be able to go in and edit the settings on my Focbox Unity. I know that Enertion has an Android app for that, and never got around to developing the IOS, so this will have to do. All in all, I’d say it’s worth the $6 that I paid for it.

### 3/5 — Good basic features, but needs polishing

*2020-08-22, version 1.70*

Overall, app connected to the board without much effort. The stats seem to feed real-time and also show up on my Apple Watch. I really like the simple watch UI, which is the primary reason I downloaded the app. Now to the issues...

1. Apple Watch app needs to stay on the screen like a workout app, it disappears after timeout making it hard to pull up current speed and battery life.

2. Need a way to save off and restore the current parameters on the board. Right now, you lose configs very easily. Maybe at a minimum have the + populate with the existing values currently on the board.

3. CAN FWD should be a first class UI element. It’s too clunky to switch back and forth when changing modes or wanting to see stats.

4. Ideally, stats would be read from the CAN bus in real time. Doubling the single motor stats is a reasonable estimation I guess.

5. Not all stats doubling is functioning properly (i.e motor temp is doubled).

6. TCP Bridge! Would love to avoid opening up my enclosure to do VESC Tool config.

Thanks for development the app and feel free to reach out to discuss the issues noted.

### 3/5 — Pretty looking but needs some love

*2020-08-08, version 1.70*

The app interface is pretty and the overall usability is good, but the core functionality needs some love — The numbers on the stats screen change too frequently and the battery indicator too. I’m not sure this is a VESC issue or app issue, but it makes the app unusable. Also speed modes ended up messing with my VESC configuration and I had to go back to VESC tool to reconfigure again. This and other rough edges are a bummer because the rest of the app is pretty good. Fix these issues and polish some of the rough edges and it will be a 5 star.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-01-27, version 1.60*

Needs motor temp but other than that, great app!!

### 4/5 — Very good app but not able to configure the motors

*2020-01-05, version 1.60*

Great app but now not able to configure the motors if you are running on 3.63FW. Please an update to support the 3.63 FW. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Nice, some bugs

*2019-11-17, version 1.54*

Great app for recording trips and getting detailed information on the board. But there is a bug when my odometer has negative miles, I don’t know what that’s about. Also the battery level fluctuates a lot like sometimes it’s 90 and a second later it’s 98.

### 5/5 — Great developer, great app

*2019-10-28, version 1.54*

Not only is the application fairly intuitive with a great format for data and metric display, the developer is quick to address any issues. When I first downloaded the app there was a small bug preventing my firmware from applying motor configs; I emailed him and he replied same day with an apology and that it would be fixed asap. Shortly thereafter, the new update came out fixing the problem. 5 stars for a great app and great service.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2023-01-09, version 1.71*

Development has stopped

### 1/5 — App barely works

*2020-08-31, version 1.70*

The interface is very hard to use. What can it even do with a VESC? The only real value it has is to show the battery percentage. Beyond that it is not useful.

### 1/5 — Eh... 1 big flaw

*2020-08-25, version 1.70*

modes aren't working properly for 2 motor systems where slave motor goes in reverse after applying a mode. Love the app for everything else but sometimes i would like speed modes and i can’t do them.

### 1/5 — Issue with battery reading

*2020-04-26, version 1.61*

It’s reading the correct voltage of the battery but it’s not displaying the correct percentage.
Update 4/26/20
Changed review to 1 star because of lack of support.. pointed out some issues to the developer and he basically ghosted me after I asked for a follow up.

### 1/5 — Not reliable

*2020-02-25*

I’ve been trying to use this app and it just doesn’t work reliably for me.

While it connects and shows all the information, when I lock my phone and put it in my pocket, when I get home the map shows just the first snippet of my trip and loses the rest. The trip duration figure seems correct but it doesn’t seem to be logging the whole trip on the map.

Also the apple watch app works initially but a few minutes it reverts to the apple clock face and not the xmatic app. So I have to keep opening the app again and again!

I suspect the app is not running correctly in the background.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work for me

*2019-02-03, version 1.41*

Not happy that I paid for this.
Hm10 recognized easily on my Android.
Worked with this app on my iPhone 1 time.
Now it never sees it and if I try to refresh in settings it force closes the app.
Pretty amateur for $3.99

### 1/5 — MPH

*2018-12-11, version 1.30*

My mph is getting maxed out at 18 every time on a lacroix. Not very accurate imo but I use it for looking at my battery

### 2/5 — Buggy.

*2020-09-18, version 1.70*

The app is buggy. Crashes and doesn’t update motors correctly is you have master + slave ESC with one motor reversed. Can’t be used to update setting on the MetroboardX. The new StormCore app might be the way to go once it launches. Would be great if this app got an update. Ty

### 2/5 — Not working properly with unity

*2019-05-27, version 1.52*

Works for 15 secs then everything freezes...

### 3/5 — Great features, but has a lot of bugs

*2022-07-01, version 1.71*

There’s a lot of love about this app, it works great for ride tracking and checking VESC telemetry. However, it’s got a lot of bugs. For starters, if the units are set to imperial (Fahrenheit, miles, etc.), it displays the wrong motor temperature. It seems that the math to convert the motor temp to Fahrenheit isn’t being done correctly. First of all, when the units are set to Fahrenheit, the motor temperature still displays with °C at the end, NOT °F. That was probably just a small oversight, but it shows the motor temperature at about 170°C when it’s actually at room temperature, which is not at all correct. I know for a fact that this is NOT a problem with my board, the Stormcore app displays the temperature in Fahrenheit just fine, and this app displays the correct motor temperature when set to Celsius. And oddly enough, this app DOES display the correct ESC temperature when set to Fahrenheit, it’s only the motor temperature that is problematic.

Also, in the battery settings, it seems that the Li-ion/lipo setting is backwards. My battery is a li-ion pack, and when I set the battery to LIPO in this app, it displays the correct Wh rating, but when set to li-ion it displays the wrong one.

The feature to change VESC settings is also useless. If I change current limits on the VESC in this app, after I write the changes to the VESC the motors spin the wrong way. The motors spin in the opposite directions of each other, rendering the board unrideable. There is NO way to fix this through the app after it happens, this app doesn’t have the option to change motor direction. Before VESC tool for iOS was out, I had discovered this problem on a group ride. I tried to change my VESC settings in this app, and after I wrote them to the board, one motor spun forwards and the other spun backwards. I had to run around and find someone with an Android phone who had VESC tool mobile so I could fix the board, or else I would’ve had to leave the group ride.

It’s not all bad though, this app IS the most feature-rich VESC tracking app on iOS (besides VESC tool). I especially like the setting to double VESC data so it will show the appropriate stats for a dual motor board.

Overall though, considering this app was $10 I expect it to not have these irritating bugs, or at least to fix them. I reported all of these bugs months ago, both through the app and on the esk8.news forum, and I never heard back from the developer. They were never fixed.

I really want to like this app, but considering it’s a paid app (and an expensive one at that), I just can’t recommend it in its current state with all of these bugs.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — First run

*2022-08-04, version 1.71*

First run with this new app and it seems to run as advertised. Keep up the good work guys and please continue to sending out updates over the air. It means a lot to me knowing that app creators will continue to polish their apps and adding New features!

### 5/5 — Needs supports for 5.02

*2021-07-04, version 1.70*

Great app, needs support for the new VESC software. Otherwise useless. The ability to configure settings like in the VESC tool would be a feature I would 100% pay for. (Throttle curve, smart current reverse, deadband, traction control, etc)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2020-11-26, version 1.70*

Great

### 5/5 — Bien mais

*2020-10-03*

L’application fonctionne bien sur le téléphone mais il ne communique pas avec l’Apple Watch.
Les infos ne s’inscrivent pas sur l’Apple Watch pourquoi?

### 5/5 — For the iPhone user!

*2020-09-06, version 1.70*

Thank you so much. Works great! I just got it but overall very pleased.

### 5/5 — A great app, that just works

*2020-08-27, version 1.70*

I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s easy to open and start a ride; I never feel inconvenienced or hindered by it.

One feature that is great is fault logging, which is great for debugging your VESC settings.

However, I considered giving this review 4 stars because the app is sorely missing a feature. It does not log the current, speed, distance, etc for the entire ride- only the max/mins of each. I hoped when I got this app, I would easily be able to see a line graph of current draw over time, to see where on my ride I was drawing the most power.

### 5/5 — Connects but doesn’t display any info

*2020-07-25, version 1.70*

App works great!!

### 5/5 — Eskate app

*2020-05-12, version 1.62*

The app works great with my Metrobard X the only think that I will like to see change is the reading of the motor temp in F not only in C
Even tho I selected F is reading in C

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-04-05, version 1.61*

Great app works well, I’d read a few reviews about it being temperamental but has so far worked flawlessly for me. Only issue I had was when I first went to use it and was receiving no data from the Bluetooth module. However that was my own fault for not wiring it correctly and after that was fixed work just fine.

### 5/5 — Appli pour TrampaBoard

*2020-03-22*

Remarquable, se connecte tout de suite au Vesc Enertion contrairement à d’autres appli. Cool
