We had to get a new set and with that a new setup. I HATE the new update. Hard to figure out any light settings unless you want it on 1 color. The older app was so much more user friendly. Please change it back!! ### 2/5 — Owner *2025-09-14, version 1.1.1* Of all of the dozens of apps that I have installed over the years, this app is the worst. It is the least stable of any application that I have. It has required dozens of resets. Because it constantly goes off-line and then it sometimes is virtually impossible to reset just because the reset procedure must be repeated so many times and that’s only if you’re fortunate enough to find out how to begin the process. ### 1/5 — Still terrible *2025-05-05* They keep adding new “features” that nobody wants while still never fixing the most basic connection bugs. So regret buying an XMcosy lamp ### 3/5 — So so *2024-11-22, version 1.06* Customer service when I bought the lights was outstanding; mine didn’t work and they sent me a new one and let me keep the old one in case I figured it out.. the app however USED TO work great and let me fully customize settings and patterns but now it won’t let me program more than one color or edit an existing pattern anymore. I have several patterned lights throughout my house and just love watching the colors change, so it’s annoying that the app won’t let me do that anymore bc you cannot do it from the buttons on the lamp. ### 2/5 — Great Lights - with many flaws *2024-11-04, version 1.0.4* The lights are great…WHEN they work. Frequent disconnect issues make using the app frustrating. Then, it’s not very intuitive if you want to do anything remotely custom or advanced. We expected to be able to create different scenes with various color combinations to run with a single click. Turns out that’s just not possible. It’s really annoying when you paid someone to install 18 land Scaping lights and they don’t work. ### 3/5 — Great lights *2023-10-16, version 1.0.4* So far they have been great, only reason for 3 star is the scenes absolutely suck…. They don’t have any fading effects and no customization. For example it’s Halloween month and I’d like them to switch colors fading from pink to purple to orange. You can’t do that. For Christmas, I’d like to turn on multiple colors at the same time, you cannot. You only can choose one color or these horrible scenes. Please update this app to provide better scenes with customization. For example, each post should be able to have two different colors at the same time. You should also adding fading effects to multiple colors so we can match colors on our Christmas decorations. These seem pretty modern and very capable to do this, it’s the app that’s not developed good to allow this to happen. ### 1/5 — Exceedingly frustrating to use *2023-10-08, version 1.0.4* We have two sets of rgb lights and have to use this app to attempt to control them. It’s beyond frustrating — when I launch the app it says the strings are offline. Actually connecting to them so I can control them works maybe 1 try out of 10. One string won’t take custom static colors anymore, only the preprogrammed options. The off and in schedule works most of the time, but not always! I dearly wish there was another way to control these, because using the app is close to pointless. ### 1/5 — Not good . Früher funktionierte alles gut. ### 3/5 — There is something wrong with their Apple ID login *2023-08-09, version 1.0.4* I mostly use my device through an Alexa skill, so I rarely use this app, but it does seem to lose cache every few months and requires me to login again. When I attempt that login again, it actually seems to just be CREATING a new account each time, rather than logging in my existing XMCosy account that I login with my Apple ID. The creation fails with a generic error (likely because I already have an account), so they’re basically forcing you to create an XMCosy account now. This needs to be fixed! ### 3/5 — App needs help *2023-08-05, version 1.0.4* The app needs to have customizable scene. More user controls. Apparently the LED bulbs are RGBIC addressable, there needs to be an app so the user can create their own color patterns and motion effects. GOVEE sets do it with their app, there is no reason XMCosy can’t have the same features. The selection of scenes in this app are weak and only on gives you any choice. And that is the one for picking only 2 colors. The chasing does not give you any option to change colors or speed. Very disappointing. ### 2/5 — Connecting to WiFi too difficult *2023-07-18, version 1.0.4* Why don’t all these “smart” device apps have a way to change your Wi-Fi connection? Like Govee does. I got a new router - new network name and password. Now I have to plug and unplug 5 or so times, wait for things to blink, hope it connects. You gotta be kidding me. The timer does work. Unfortunately, like many users, lights frequently disconnect and I end up having to manually turn lights on and off through the switch. The app is not serving its purpose. ### 1/5 — BUGS - No clue what time it is *2025-05-11, version 1.08* The ‘Scenes’ section is supposed to allow users to predetermine settings based on parameters. For example, when the sun sets - lets are supposed to turn on. It should know what time the sun sets based on my location that is added in the app, however, the scene does not trigger at that time, the go on much earlier. Also, NOTHING works unless my phone is connected to my wifi. When I am away from home the lights do not go on or they do not turn off. My kids and I all download the app and we love to mess around with the different settings to change the light colors. I love the Christmas setting and the red, white and blue setting. Usually, though, we just put them on the soft white setting. You must sting a cable securely and hang the light from the cable. Once you understand that they are an amazing product they look awesome. I love the Wi-Fi feature very reliable and works very well with Alexa voice activation. In order to do anything other than one color you have to create a scene. When you create a scene, there are only options for dynamic effects and not for static or solid.
