I first tried Episode 1, and to be honest, thought it was lame. But something about it still peaked my interest, so I took a chance on buying this one. Well, it turns out, the free Episode 1 was basically a tutorial. They probably should say that, because there was virtually no challenge, unlike this one. It was highly enjoyable, and I think for once the comparison to Myst and Riven could apply here. The only real problem, as a few others have mentioned, is it not fitting the screen. The edges were indeed cut off on my IPad, but it turned out I could play it just fine, just use the thumbsticks instead of the arrows. Also, the ending was abrupt, but I wouldn't say the game lacked enough content. It's just surprising when it decides to end. ### 5/5 — Brill' game *2016-07-22, version 1.0.7* This episode delivers on the promise of the first episode with a much meatier and deeper experience with clever but not frustrating puzzles in an intriguing and beautifully rendered world. Still not the longest game but the 90 minutes or so are well worth a couple bucks. So doesn't work. $1.99 wasted. Updated. If you don't start in landscape mode it crops the scene. And again. You can find yourself in the last place you left the game, but with all the assets reset. My advice is to wait until the developers fix this before purchase. It might be a good game, but I didn't have the patience to stick with such difficult mobility. The graphics looked good. ### 3/5 — Buggy *2019-05-29, version 1.0.10* I played the first game and then paid for the second game. I do like them and initially the second game promised to be much better than the first. It is certainly much bigger. However, it seems to be very buggy. I stumbled on the bug in the maze, and in that instance resetting the location by pressing the logo 10 times was sufficient to resolve it. However, I have now encountered a bug with the red and blue crystals in the factory room which is preventing me progressing in the game at all and I can’t find a way around it. Others have encountered this as there is a video on YouTube about it. This makes me glad I did not spend more than a couple of pounds on the game. As enjoyable as it is, there are better made games out there, particularly as many of these bugs are quite well known looking at reviews and guides and yet they still haven’t been fixed! Edit ******** What I thought was another bug in the factory was not. You need to actually look up a bit and click on the beam of energy/light to get the pipes to move. I will echo, what others have said though - a pretty anti- climactic ending, and the game wasn’t as long as I had hoped. I will probably play the next one, as I have enjoyed, but still a far cry from Myst, Riven, the Room etc. ### 3/5 — Great graphics *2017-01-07, version 1.0.7* Not sure why but the game image is wider than my iPad Air window. There’s a logic to everything and it makes sense once you crack it. Stalled out for maybe 2-3 hours in confusion before breaking through. Well worth the price, and yes, much longer than Episode 1! ### 5/5 — XON just got better!! 😁 *2023-04-17, version 1.0.10* I’ve played episode 1 for several years and never considered buying the next installment until now. This game is really fun! 😁 Let’s start with the clever ground switches hidden in the dark corners throughout the first half of this epic adventure. Then you will need to find all four crystals to divert power to the main door. The switch in the cave also provides power to a bridge in the 2nd part, so you need to set it after unlocking the first door. I couldn’t believe how much fun this game actually is. 🤗 The waterfall was such a delightful surprise and the monorail was such a visual treat! If you are stuck trying to unlock the monorail, you only need to activate 3 light boxes marked with the colors blue, green & red. The other two (purple & yellow) are decoys! 😏 At the very beginning of the pipe maze, there are a series of hidden passages. One of those passages leads back to the waterfall and if you go through the big door, the monorail car is waiting for you! The level design is seriously impressive. If I could shake the hand of the developer, I would simply say; "Thank you". 🤗 If you are on the fence about this; I certainly understand. IMPORTANT FEATURES: ✅ - Breathtaking graphics. ✅ - Secret areas. ✅ - No time limit. ✅ - No in-app purchases. ✅ - No game-ending traps. I purposely rode the monorail in the wrong direction to see what was around the maze. If you like short games that don’t take hours to complete, then this is for you. If you love secret areas, this game has it. I can complete this game in a matter of minutes. 😁👍🏼 Did I mention the graphics? 🥰 This game is legit!! 🫶🏼 Just buy it! 😁 Recommended: Yes 👍🏼 Absolutely perfect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ### 5/5 — Absolute Masterpiece Part Two *2022-06-01, version 1.0.10* Now THIS Chapter is just amazing. Once I figured out I just needed to follow the plumbing, I was off and running solving puzzles. All 4 chapters of XON are spectacular in their own way, and these guys are absolute masters at creating beautiful mega-puzzles that are laid out across vast landscapes. It’s such a rush to solve these incredible puzzles. ### 5/5 — Clever, relaxing puzzle escape game *2022-02-21, version 1.0.10* Played this with my 7 year old. Wasn’t sure if she would be interested, but she loved wandering around and discovering the secrets. At one point, she took the controls and was finding things and coming up with ideas on her own. Good puzzles that were fun to work on together as a team. It’s just enough of a challenge that it takes a bit to think on it and there is enough content to feel like the price was worth the journey. Took us a day on and off to complete. It does remind me of Myst as described, which was one of my favorite games growing up. Quiet game; can’t die. Super relaxing if you enjoy the type of games that don’t rush you and make you think. Kid was begging me to hurry up and buy episode 3 when this was over so we can keep playing. The graphics were fantastic along with the controls. The puzzles were great, enough of a challenge but not so daunting that I would’ve wanted to quit. The game is a great length. You definitely get your money’s worth! ### 5/5 — AWESOME!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ *2020-01-23, version 1.0.10* I started out with the initial free game, and then saw several reviewers note that these paid versions are longer, so I decided to give it a try, as I really enjoyed the freebie immensely. Now I am already on Chapter 3 and enjoying every moment of this journey so far! I consider myself to be a “graphics snob,” so I appreciate the beautiful graphics and attention to detail in these games very much. I also love that we are forced to explore every since nook and cranny of this strange world, looking for artifacts needed for game play. I also appreciate the complexity level of the puzzles. It’s not TOO hard, but hard enough that I did have to seek out some clues on a few occasions, and each game (so far) has given me more than a day of game play. I will be recommending this game to everyone for sure, and I don’t recommend many games! This rises to the level of The Taos Principal, The Room series, and House of DaVinci. Bravo!
