### 2/5 — Location updates are not great

*2026-08-15, version 1.2.2*

Location updates are not great

### 2/5 — Not that great!

*2026-08-09, version 1.2.1*

Xplora app is really quite slow, when sending messages there is a delay when my child receives them. The map app doesn’t update or show accurately where my child is. I’m always refreshing and reinstalling my app. Occasionally, when it works it’s great but the delay etc is more frequent than not! When I call my child it sends that my child has terminated the call and vice versa when we haven’t. It is very frustrating! Plus there is a monthly subscription on top of buying the initial watch. I’m not sure I would buy again.

### 2/5 — GPS not working

*2026-08-05, version 1.2.1*

Pretty bad quality

### 4/5 — Sid

*2026-08-02, version 1.2.1*

Very good

### 1/5 — GPS never works

*2026-07-18, version 1.2.0*

We can never get the GPS to update and that was the main reason we bought it.

### 1/5 — Still pretty terrible

*2026-07-15, version 1.2.0*

Still abysmal. Location will not update even after three hours. Not notification badges on the app (home screen or in the app (for each watch) do not clear even after reading the messages.

The app and watches are just so unreliable. I would never recommend either one to anyone.

Some suggested improvements seem to have been made, but there are still lots of issues similar to what others have posted, such as out-of-date locations. Sometimes I will receive a notification that a watch has moved out of a safety zone, but when I go to the map, it shows the watch in the original location. It can take quite a few refreshes or several minutes before the location catches up.

Also, the app badge icon (red bubble) does not clear after reviewing messages and notifications. This obviously complicates knowing whether or not there are new messages or notifications.

Note: one issue we had was when Wi-Fi is on, it really messes up watch location tracking and texting. Owners might want to ensure that watch Wi-Fi is not set to on.

*Suggested improvement: add a new user type for caregivers, such as aunts and uncles, grandparents, nannies, who can see the location, but do not have full access to make changes to watch Settings.

*Another suggested improvement: allow different alert sounds for messages versus notifications, and let these be different than the phone’s built-in system notification sound. The same alert sound for everything makes it difficult to know when I need to pay attention to the app/watch and in the end, the watch wearers, who are the point of even having this watch and app.

### 1/5 — No service

*2026-07-09, version 1.2.0*

Can never get calls to go through

### 1/5 — Software is poor

*2026-07-07, version 1.2.0*

The app asks me to review it every single time I log on. So I’m now giving it one star….

### 1/5 — It’s just ok

*2026-06-15, version 1.1.8*

The battery doesn’t last long enough, the watch worn during school can overheat and cause a mark on my daughters hand. This is therefore unacceptable. Frequently location is incorrect, which is concerning. Delete messages remain on the watch which confusing. Daughter cannot message back freely which doesn’t make sense. Overall ok but too many issues need addressing.

### 1/5 — Terrible signal

*2026-06-13, version 1.1.8*

I will be looking for another watch phone

### 1/5 — Stop

*2026-06-13, version 1.1.8*

Excessive app review requests- every time I open the app it asks for a rating. No matter if I have already provided the rating.

### 1/5 — I wanted so much more from these

*2026-06-10, version 1.1.8*

All I wanted was a Watch that would accurately track my kids as they moved independently through Barcelona, and be able to check in with me. Neither function works well in this app. The tracking is buggy and works half the time. Sometimes it shows them in the right place, sometimes miles away. And the texting and calling works fine, but all I want is to get a red bubble notification on the app when I have a text from my kids. For a long time I could get NO red bubbles (and yes, all my notification settings were right on my iPhone), and now all of a sudden I get so many random red bubbles from the app the actual texts get lost. Why can’t I control what notifications I get?!?! What is the point of my kids texting me when they need me if I don’t even know about it? Why can’t I get texts in the messages app where I get reliable notifications when I need them? Please use your programmer’s time to fix the bugs in the basic functionality of the app, not to gamify a device that we sought out purposely so that my kids would be off of screens!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-08-27, version 1.2.2*

Cannot text anyone who doesn’t have the app? And can only read texts within the app? Horrible concept.

### 1/5 — Xplora One phone just not a good phone

*2026-08-26, version 1.2.2*

Unfortunately continuous technical issues with the phone making it unusable and a lack of customer service response leading to a very poor customer experience.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2026-08-18, version 1.2.2*

This app asks me to review it every time I open it. I am only writing this review to see if it will finally stop. The app also rarely works properly with my son’s phone. Regularly sending emergency alerts when there isn’t one. This means if there is an emergency we would probably ignore it like the boy who cried wolf. Not good.

### 1/5 — Stay away

*2026-08-17, version 1.2.2*

Very bad device. Worked poorly for a few weeks then stopped working at all.

### 1/5 — Additional review to make people aware

*2026-08-13, version 1.2.2*

AVOID

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-08-13, version 1.2.2*

Connectivity with the phone is poor. It updates hours later. Tracking is poor as a result and get alerts in the middle of the night about calls made hours earlier.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-10, version 1.2.1*

I love the idea of the watch and the freedom it provides my son, but I warn anyone from buying one, Xplora is a terrible company to deal with, should you have any issue you will be ignored for weeks, if you are replied to at all. In addition you need to watch your account as money will be taken for subscriptions you have not signed up to and then customer service will fob you off. This is a great device but a terrible company to deal with should you have to. Such a shame.

### 1/5 — a buggy mess

*2026-08-06, version 1.2.1*

The Xplora XGO2 has been nothing but a buggy, stressful headache. If you are thinking about using this watch to track a child over home Wi-Fi without paying for a monthly SIM card subscription, DO NOT BOTHER. Even when it is on the Wi-Fi, it still gets stuck all the bloody time. The software on this device is incredibly cheap and full of glitches. For days on end, the parental Guardian app on the iPhone has been permanently frozen showing the watch at "0% battery" and stuck on a yellow "Refreshing..." loop, even though the physical watch screen says it’s sitting perfectly fine at 93%. Because the watch aggressively forces its Wi-Fi chip into a deep sleep to save its own battery, the app completely loses connection to the device and defaults to lying to you about the battery life.Worse than the battery glitch is the tracking. Because the watch doesn't have a SIM card to ping GPS satellites constantly, the map is permanently frozen in time showing that the watch is miles away at the last place it managed a brief handshake with a network connection days ago. It cannot track location on the move or on a bus because the software is too rigid to handle changing signals.Trying to troubleshoot the watch yourself is an exercise in pure patience testing. The locked-down Android software means you can't even change basic screen timeout settings to keep the antenna awake. If you try to fix the connection by manually re-entering the home Wi-Fi password, you have to fight an impossibly tiny on-screen keyboard where the "X" logo acts as a back button, meaning your finger constantly slips and wipes out the entire password over and over again. But the absolute worst part of this entire experience is the company itself. A private customer service ticket regarding an ongoing account issue has been completely ignored for over 8 days now. When you try to use their "Live Web Chat" for immediate help, you are blocked by a useless AI bot named "Felix" who explicitly text-messages you saying: "Chat with a human agent is not available on this channel." They hide their telephone number from their main contact page to avoid taking complaints, forcing you back into an email queue that they never reply to.The messaging feature works over Wi-Fi, but half the advertised safety features of this watch are completely broken unless you pay them even more money for a SIM data package. A multi-million-pound company should have servers and customer support better than this. Save your money, avoid the family stress, and look at a different brand entirely.

### 1/5 — The connection is awful

*2026-08-05, version 1.2.1*

The times when I need to get a hold of my child the most, her connection is wonky.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-07-24, version 1.2.1*

Can’t ever ring my son. Such a bad device.

### 5/5 — LeBron James

*2026-07-14, version 1.2.0*

LeBron James was born on December 30 1984 in Akron Ohio. Growing up he didn’t know his father due to the fact that he left LeBron and his mother early in his life. He lives with us mother and grandmother in a house together. Once the grandmother died LeBron and his mother had to no place to live. So they bounced around different houses. He then went to live with his basketball coach to live a stable life and train at basketball. Pt 2 comes later

### 5/5 — Very good

*2026-07-11, version 1.2.0*

I like it. It is good.

### 5/5 — Akku Stand

*2026-06-22*

### 5/5 — Worst connection & availability app ever

*2026-05-21, version 1.1.6*

We can’t login app so how am I tracking my child safety ? I will not recommend this watch to anyone

### 5/5 — Xplora Uhr und App

*2026-05-11*
