I chose poorly. *2022-06-29, version 2.1.1* After updating the firmware, I couldn’t connect. I powered the XTOMP off then back on and now it works fine. Maybe that’s what some of the bad reviews were about. ### 2/5 — Poor Reverbs *2022-01-24, version 2.1.1* The Xtomp reverbs are not that good. They sound thin, brittle, dull, not the soy of a quality pedal. The distortions can work, but seems lacking something. The modulation sound are a hit and miss. The same issues their reverbs have. The phasers aren’t bad. I bought this pedal when it first came out, with high hopes, my $250 could have purchased a bunch of inexpensive pedals, with much better sound. ### 3/5 — Great product but app still crashing in iOS 14 *2021-01-02, version 2.1.0* This is a great product and the app used to work seamlessly. Since upgrading to iOS 14 the app crashes every time I try to connect to my pedal. Still works ok using an old iPod with earlier iOS version. Great app with a few quirks but XTOMP is super fun. *2019-05-18, version 2.0.1* This is mostly a review of the app, not the actual XTOMP device. The XTOMP device I think it’s pretty cool and I think it does a great job with distortions chorus and digital delays among other things not such a great job on others (octave is model is pretty bad for example ). The app in general does a terrific job. The app easily loads pedal models one at a time via Bluetooth onto the XTOMP pedal pretty seamlessly. The only issue I really have with the app, is the search feature doesn’t really work well at all. For example there are several Chorus pedals in the library but if you search chorus only one pedal comes up. The search is pretty useless. My app has updated with several new models recently within the past few weeks, including some good bass DI models. It seems like it one point they may have fallen off on the support for this pedal, but it seems to be back online and be supported and updated regularly. Again you may or may not like the models on the pedal but as an app goes this is pretty good they just need to work on the search feature but overall a very impressive application that goes hand-in-hand very nicely with the XTOMP panel. In my opinion the pedal does the best job with dirt pedals like distortions. For example the TS9 model is excellent. Also the tremolo petals are very useful as are the choruses and digital delay models, plus some of the amp models are excellent. The other models are hit or miss. Recommend you hit YouTube and see what you like or don’t like of the pedal models, but the app works pretty great. ### 3/5 — Not enough!!! *2017-12-19, version 2.0.1* Guys, you are doing great job. But you should check out others to be the best of the best. Give us an opportunity to have fully customizable, Bluetooth controlled multi effect processor in one little pedal. For me it’s not about money to buy 4-5 XTOMP, the dream is not to carry heavy equipment and to have professional sound from a little box. There are no words to describe how I am satisfied and unsatisfied at the same time!!! ### 4/5 — Pretty sweet *2016-10-20, version 1.0.8* Pretty cool app/pedal. Love that I can experiment with different sounds without buying new pedals. Suggested improvements, in order of importance (to me): 1. Increase the size of the knob labels. I'm on an iPhone SE and can barely read them. Maybe increase the contrast of the font as well. 2. Whenever you show a specific xtomp in the app (at the load to device screen or on the My Xtomp screen), you show a graphic of the pedal's current loaded effect and the device's name in small font. I think it would be less confusing to show some generic (or user-chosen) graphic instead of the current-loaded effect graphic. Maybe just write out the current loaded effect name so I know what's on there, but showing the actual effect pedal image throws me off for some reason. ### 5/5 — great great *2016-07-29, version 1.0.7* please keep those updates coming, it makes me love my xtomp pedal even more :) ### 3/5 — Hot one xtomp *2016-07-12, version 1.0.6* My iPad Air can't find xtomp via Bluetooth but still connects sometimes it takes upto 5 minutes when it does finally connect it sounds amazing ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Does not work with iOS 14 *2021-01-01, version 2.1.0* Ever since iOS 14, using the “My Xtomp” feature crashes the app. This makes the pedal worthless without using an Android phone or desktop computer. This app should be removed from the App Store until it’s compatible. Now it gets as far as scanning for the pedal over Bluetooth, then crashes. Every time. Had the istomp and loved it. Then digitech killed it. Found xtomp, bought one and now it looks like it’s dead also. I guess the ‘load any effect’ market is still not making enough money to keep these products alive. Hotone please consider open sourcing the code. This could be the future of user created pedals. For example, the left pair of knobs showed that the frequency is less, and the right pair of knobs that the frequency is greater. My only criticisms would be that on an iPhone 5 the graphics are a little small (perhaps some kind of zoom function could be created for future versions) and that I'd love to see tap tempo functionality not just on delays, but on the modulation effects too, especially the tremolo. Ein Spaß damit zu arbeiten.manche Effekte klingen ein bisschen clean, aber andere wiederum total wie die Originale. Mir fehlt nur noch ein wichtiges Feature: wenn ich meine persönlichen Settings eines Effekts beim Wechsel zu einem anderen Gerät automatisch mit abgespeichert bekäme, so das beim wiederaufrufen des benutzten efx mein persönlicher sound zu allererst eingestellt ist. Dann wäre es optimal.
