So far, I found the app’s data recording issue. Here is the scenario: click live data, app will show all names live data, don’t select any name and don’t click combine, just click data recording button, this button will blinking until you press it to stop. This period’s live data was recorded and saved. Go back to report and select data playback, you’ll see the above recorded data. Click it and y can play back. It is playback but any live data not changed even you recorded 10 minutes!!! It’s like having only one screenshot for all names during 10 minutes. But when you combine some names and record their live data, it works as expected after playback. I hope they can fix this problem soon! This live data record and playback makes A30M scanner much more valuable at this price and more professional diagnostics tool! ### 3/5 — Love it when it works *2026-06-26* Number one complaint - works 1 out of 9 times. When it works, for my 2005 CRV, it's pretty amazing. When it decides that Engine data is not supported for my vehicle, it's only as good as a basic OBDII tool. The connection to Bluetooth can be either through the app or directly through Bluetooth settings; either way, it's so buggy that I'll get told my vehicle is not supported and the A30M becomes useless. Please fix this! Another issue is if it loses connection (or freezes) it will likely always tell you you're not supported unless you physically remove the dongle and start from scratch. This too is not good coding. And it's likely these bugs are the same for everyone. We put up with it but more investment needs to be made to make a solid connection. Lastly, the graphic interface is almost useless on a cell phone. With forced landscape format and no text enlargement or better graphing graphics, what exactly am I looking at? Fix the graphing UI so it's formatable or zoomable (far too tiny) and note that the Custom button overlaps the UI swipe zone... why?! ### 4/5 — A30m *2026-06-17* I have been using the xtool a30m for the last 2 years . It have help me serve 100s of clients . Works well with German and American cars . Need more functions to read Toyota and some Nissan cars without writing the vin manually. I wish to see more service functions like transmission reset oil service . And it would be great after clear all codes to have a test mode that checks if the system has cleared all or still appear . ### 3/5 — Not enough covered *2026-05-11* 2012 Jeep compass should be able to be scanned because it’s a very abundant vehicle but apparently they are very picky on the vehicles they pick and choose to put it on the app ### 2/5 — was fine until an update occurred *2026-04-27, version 7.1.29* Recently, the software updated and I can no longer auto scan many different types of vehicles, including my personal truck, which is a 2007 Dodge Dakota I can’t get into any advanced functions that no or at least it claims to no longer support it after the update 4-27-26 ### 2/5 — Error *2026-04-16, version 7.1.28* After the latest update, the program stopped working. But, the “data logging” is borderline useless in my opinion. Maybe I just can’t figure it out? You can monitor up to 8 pids, and “start” the logging process. But, when you go back to view the log, it shows all of the pids, not just the ones selected. The most irritating part is that you can’t “navigate” the playback. You can’t fast forward, you can’t rewind, you can literally press play, and pause… that’s it. So if you’re monitoring and logging, and 10 minutes in you record the issue, you literally have to watch the entire 10 minutes of playback. It really makes the data logging useless for me. I have had several issues where the app would not sync to the Bluetooth OBD reader when I needed it most. After a ton of research, I found out that I had to uninstall the app then reinstall and start all over for it to sync again. That solved the issue but well after the fact of when I needed it the most, so the unit failed me dearly. Now here we are again and the app will not update at all, I get the error message “network anomaly, please try again” there is no network anomaly whatsoever and again I am left with a useless tool that I would like to get my money back on. ### 1/5 — Unusable after latest update *2026-05-25* Unable to run automatic scan now. I am not having any connection issues. It is necessary to go into settings and connect the device prior to opening the app, but I’ve not had any issues with connection. Has saved me so much money. Gives information and performs functions that I could never do at home just a few years ago and at a fraction of the cost. ### 5/5 — Best mobile scanner for the money. *2026-05-07, version 7.1.29* I have the bluetooth OBD2 scanner/iPhone app combo. Ive had 0 issues working on dozens of makes/models so far from BMW’s, Japanese makes, dodge viper, Saab, ford, etc…. I’ve found bad timing chain codes via troubleshooting with all the diagnostic features of this tool. It has bi-directional capabilities even on old GM cars you’d have to have a tech2 dealership tool for. I’ve been able to trouble shoot all sorts of things by command turning on/off dozens of relays/and switches for things like fans, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, starter relays etc… The live data is great too if you want to see parameters of O2 sensors etc… Updates for all makes are extremely frequent. It saves old vehicle data and saves reports with custom edit abilities if you want to print them for customers etc. Not saying this is a $5-15k snap on scanner but this is definitely the best scanner period for 100-200$ bar none. Es funktioniert mit meinem alten BMW und meinem Skoda ganz prima. Nach einer Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Verkäufer wurde die Sprache für Updates in kürzester Zeit auf Deutsch umgestellt. Ich weiß zwar nicht, warum man die Sprache zwar auf Deutsch einstellen aber dann keine Update mehr laden kann, aber nach dem der Verkäufer es auf meine Bitte geändert hat, funktionieren Update auch auf Deutsch. Alles prima.
