## What is Y&Co?

Y&Co is the APP for the Coliseum Archaeological Park created for all under the name of DESIGN FOR ALL.

Y&Co is the acronym for You and Coliseum but also You and Community, in other words, the entire group of people united by the same passion and interest for the Coliseum Archaeological Park.

Y&Co is the App designed so that everybody can, free of charge, prepare for the visit beforehand and have additional insights when visiting the monuments in the PArCo.

The App contains 4 different itinerary modes:
    • A general itinerary in 9 languages (Italian, English, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish, Portuguese) and multimedia contents
    • An itinerary for children, with the mascot, Tarpeia the Vestal (Italian and English) and multimedia contents
    • An itinerary for the blind (Italian and English), with audio descriptions
    • An itinerary for the deaf (ISL and ASL) with official interpreters

The Y&Co App was created to provide additional insights to the itinerary of touchscreen panels positioned throughout the PArCo, between the Coliseum (second order/tier), the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The touchscreen panels use layouts and 3D reproductions to illustrate some of the monuments in the PArCo and artefacts in the Palatine Museum. 

With the Y&Co App you can:
    • SELECT your preferred itinerary
    • SELECT the monuments or artefacts that interest you along the itinerary
    • SEE, READ, LISTEN AND ENJOY additional insights into the selected contents

The Y&Co App comes equipped with a map: by activating the notifications on the Menu page you can receive a proximity alert when nearing one of the monuments or artefacts in the PArCo.

There is quite a bit of information in the application but unfortunately you need an internet connection each time you reach a point of interest (every 10 to 20 meters) as the videos are not kept in cache. The signal is so low in the area that you may wait several minutes before hearing something.
Please add the possibility (and recommendation to each user) to be able to download all videos via WiFi before starting the tour! You can inform about the space needed in the phone memory before starting to download the content.

The server are incredibly slow to retrieve videos. And the app is set to sleep, doesn’t keep the phone awake for the duration of the video . Ruined my experience, genuinely regret coming

In der App gibt es nur 24 kleine Texteinträge. Eine Karte hilft jedoch bei der Orientierung. Aber für 250MB Downloadgröße sollte man sich das überlegen. Da fand ich einfach die Texttafeln lesen besser.
