## What is Yagi IPTV Player?

Yagi is the IPTV player built for Apple devices. Your channels, movies and shows open in seconds, live TV runs only seconds behind the broadcast, and everything you set up follows you from iPhone to iPad to Mac.

WATCH LIVE, ACTUALLY LIVE
Most players sit half a minute behind the real broadcast. Yagi plays your provider's stream the fastest way it can be played, so the goal is on your screen when it happens, not after your neighbors have already cheered. Pause live TV when life interrupts, rewind to see it again, and jump back to live with one tap.

NOTHING IN YOUR WAY
One sidebar, one swipe away, with every section of your playlist in it. No nested menus, no settings maze, no waiting for screens to draw. Yagi is a native app written for iOS 26 and macOS 26, with a Liquid Glass interface that feels like it came with the device.

PICKS UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Start a movie on the Mac, finish it on the iPad. Favorites, playlist layout, reminders and settings sync through iCloud with nothing to configure. Hand a channel from your iPhone to your Mac with Handoff, or send it to the big screen with AirPlay.

KEEPS PLAYING WHEN STREAMS STRUGGLE
Streams hang, servers hiccup, and most apps leave you staring at a black screen. Yagi reconnects on its own and keeps you posted while it does, so you never have to switch channels by hand just to get the picture back.

EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT, DONE WELL
• Xtream and M3U playlists, with Live TV, Movies and TV Shows in their own sections
• A TV guide with what's on now and next, and reminders that notify you before a program starts
• Favorites for the channels and shows you come back to
• Search across live channels, movies and series at once
• Downloads for offline viewing of movies and episodes
• Subtitles and multiple audio tracks, when your provider includes them
• Rename channels and groups, hide what you don't watch, and keep your playlist the way you like it
• Picture in Picture on every device
• Live subscription details for Xtream accounts
• Playlists refresh themselves daily, so new channels just appear

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-25

WHAT'S NEW

• Spectrum is now Yagi. Same app, new name and icon. Your playlists, favorites and settings stay just as they were.

• Yagi now speaks your language. The app is available in many more languages, and it picks the one your device is set to.

• A small ask. After you have been watching for a while, Yagi may ask once whether you would leave a rating. It takes a tap, and it helps the app more than you would think.

FIXED

• Interface scale on the Mac now sizes everything. The player's controls, cards, spinner and sidebar arrows follow the Scale setting, so nothing stays small when the rest of the app is larger.

### 2.0.8 — 2026-10-19

This is the biggest update Spectrum has ever had. The playback engine, the player, the sidebar, sync, the guide: nearly every part of the app has been rebuilt, and the result is faster, steadier and closer to live than anything the old player could do.

A NEW PLAYBACK ENGINE
Spectrum no longer plays through the old player. It runs on AetherEngine, a playback engine built for Apple hardware: channels decode on the device's video hardware, start in under a second, and play on smoothly where the old player stuttered. Interlaced channels look right. Audio tracks can be switched mid-stream, and subtitles draw the way the system draws them.

LIVE IS ACTUALLY LIVE
Spectrum plays your provider's stream the fastest way it can be played on every channel, on every route. When the match turns, you see it first.

PAUSE AND REWIND LIVE TV
Pause a live channel, come back, and carry on where you stopped. Rewind to see a moment again, scrub through the last half hour, and jump back to live with one tap. The rewind length is yours to set.

STREAMS THAT RECOVER ON THEIR OWN
When a stream stalls or the provider hiccups, Spectrum reconnects at once and keeps trying, without ever giving up on a channel. While it works, the player tells you what is happening instead of going black, with a word or two of company if the wait runs long.

A PLAYER REDESIGNED IN LIQUID GLASS
The controls now dock into the sidebar with the programme guide beside them, so what's on now and next is one glance away. Scrub with the picture, pick skip lengths, open a movie's details from its title. On an iPhone turned on its side the sidebar runs down with everything in reach.

PICTURE IN PICTURE, AIRPLAY, HANDOFF
On the Mac, Picture in Picture is Spectrum's own custom floating window with the full controls built with speed and versatility in mind. On iPhone and iPad it works everywhere, with background audio. Send a channel or a movie to an Apple TV with AirPlay, or show it on a TV over Screen Mirroring with TV Mode. Hand what you are watching from your iPhone to your Mac with Handoff and it continues there.

EVERYTHING FOLLOWS YOU
Where you left a movie or an episode, what you watched last, your favorites, your playlist layout, your renames, your reminders and your settings now sync through iCloud, with nothing to set up. Start on one device and continue on the next, even what was playing a minute ago. Saved playlists travel encrypted.

A SMARTER GUIDE
The guide unfolds above the programme you are watching, with what's on now and what's next. Search what's on right now across every channel. Set a reminder on any programme and every one of your devices rings before it starts.

AND MORE
• Rename channels, movies, shows, episodes and groups
• A search pane for the whole playlist: live, movies and series at once
• Downloads listed and filtered like favorites
• Playlists and the guide refresh themselves once a day
• A new welcome, sign-in and purchase flow, with the free week up front
• Dozens of smaller fixes to scrolling, sizing, clicks and sign-in

Spectrum now requires iOS 26 or macOS 26.

If you like where this is going, a review helps more than you'd think. If something is off, tell us: your reports shaped every item above.
