It’s exactly what it seems to be… a dumbed down version of Katamari Demancy. It only has one basic map, that you can make bigger by leveling up. And its mechanics are basic, but good enough for the price of the game… free, and I mean free, as in no ads or anything. It’s a relaxing game that is so simple, that if you’re going to complain about it, you might as well splurge and spend money for katamancy in the Apple Arcade or on the PS2. ### 3/5 — It’ll scratch the itch. *2025-04-03* We all love Katamari Damacy but NamcoBandai pulled the old game from the App Store and only has a weird arcade version so we got this copy cat. I say that with all due respect because it is fun, it’s just shallow and has no replay value as it can be “beaten” in an afternoon but it’s a good distraction if you’re longing for days gone of Katamari Damacy. You’re an alien ball and the objective is harvest what’s on the map as quickly as possible. When the timer runs out the resources you harvest are tallied and can be used to upgrade your world/ball. You can dump resources to make the ball roll faster, expand the map a little, extend how much time you’re given and finally how magnetic your ball is to what it’s rolling over. That’s it though, you can max out everything in a day and there’s no map beside the base map so after that it’s just kind of a way to will time away. It’ll scratch the itch but you could probably rip out your old PS2, hook it up and pop in an old copy of Katamari in the time it takes to download the game and beat it. ### 4/5 — Has potential *2024-11-01, version 1.0* This game has potential to be top game. Almost no ads which it’s amazing. Just needs more incentive to keep playing. Also needs option to skip or speed up the harvesting sequence. This is slow & was too short of timeout window. Deleting. ### 3/5 — Fill the Katamari urges but that’s all *2024-06-04* Wanted something like Katamari to play for a bit and this was fine. Played for maybe 20 minutes before running out of content. Ball Speed Upgrade is good to a point but needs more weight Ball Magnet just increases your pickup sizes. Only 6x6 max map size is too small. The main point of the game is to increase how much time you have to play and it goes from 30 seconds to like 90 seconds depending on your grind. The reward collection becomes way too slow the later into the game you get and your kinda just waiting for the UFO to pick things up ### 1/5 — Terrible Katamari rip off *2024-04-14* Ball rolls so slow you can barely catch the small objects to get big enough to have any fun. It gives you about 10 sec of playtime. Of course you can pay to move faster but usually a game will let you have some fun before a pay wall. Don’t was your time with this game ### 4/5 — Too short *2024-03-13* Needs bigger map upgrades and the ball should be heavier when upgrading speed to higher levels for better control so you don’t fly over objects instead of picking them up also if the magnet upgrade actually pulled objects towards you slightly instead of just increasing the size of the objects you can initially pick up it would also combat the problem of flying over objects without amassing them. Fun game ### 5/5 — Closest to katamari you can get *2024-01-09* I was looking for a katamari game and I came across this one. This would be the most similar game to katamari I can find on mobile. It's pretty good but it's way too short. Not a lot in the game at all. I could definitely see this game going further though. Different levels and more PowerUps as well. The speed of the ball is so fast when you level it up past 4 that it just keeps flying over everything. So a fix for that would be nice or to add an extra power up for weight to the ball maybe.
