## Most critical reviews (6 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot really test

*2020-06-02, version 1.5.4*

Costant prompts about buying full version if you try to search or browse for a song - so you can just play a random songs in free version. I'm not buying that.

### 1/5 — Crasches....

*2020-03-20, version 1.3.4*

Crashes often with Moode Audio based of Pi

### 2/5 — App freezing

*2023-04-09*

Please check why the app freezes each time it’s launched. The screen becomes unresponsive and no action is possible.
I have the latest iOS update and located in Switzerland.
Thanks

**Developer response:** If yaMPC cannot connect to the Music Player Daemon (MPD), it should time out in 30 seconds and switch to the 'Players' screen so you can configure your MPD player. If yaMPC freezes, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. If reinstalling does not solve the problem, please contact us. Click "App Support" in the App Store or visit:
 openaudiolab.com/yampc/support/
and find the email address in the "Ask a question to:" section. Thank you!

### 3/5 — Janky, poorly designed

*2024-02-15*

All networking operations appear to happen on the UI thread, which causes the app to freeze if it is in the middle of something. No indication that the app hasn't crashed. It often stays this way until some timeout has reached, which can be as long as 30 seconds (!!!). It will sometimes give you cryptic dialogs like "when there is a check mark, press <Queue" which makes me feel like I'm answering a riddle to cross a bridge or something. The app does at least function, though. But there aren't any better MPD clients on the app store.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the message "when there is a check mark, ..." is confusing. We will fix it in the next version.　The message only appears the first time you make an MPD connection. Therefore, we recommend that you read the tutorial when you start using yaMPC.

yaMPC blocks its UI until the MPD connection is complete (or timeout). However, once a stable connection is established between yaMPC and MPD, I do not think you have to wait for a timeout. If you still have an issue, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

### 5/5 — Perfect MPC apps

*2024-10-08*

I’ve been looking for this simple, comprehensive and beautiful apps for a long time. It’s fantastic to see the album covers of music currently playing. In addition to working with MPD, it also workd very well with Mopidy. Well done!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your encouraging comments. We will continue to make yaMPC an even better app.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2019-06-14*

Works as advertised. User needs to have basic understanding of how MPD works. Thank you to the developer for making this app!

**Developer response:** Many thanks for your review comment, I appreciate. I am sure your are familiar with MPD. However, for those who are not familiar with MPD, we will add more information, including fundamental tutorials, to the yaMPC Web pages. For now, we hope that every user will visit our web site (openaudiolab.com/yampc) and check Online Manual, Support information (Known Problems and Technical FAQ) and Cover-art settings.
