## What is Yap?

Record first. Transcribe privately when you are ready.

Yap captures clear AAC audio in m4a files, then lets you create a transcript on your device once the recording is done. Organize recordings as notes, start quickly from widgets, and sync through your private iCloud.

Yap was previously called Voice Memo.

WHY YAP
• High or Standard recording quality
• Pause and resume recording
• Transcribe after recording, in the language you choose
• On-device Whisper model with Apple speech fallback
• Home and Lock Screen shortcuts to open or create a memo
• Folders, favorites, reminders, themes, and app lock
• iCloud sync across Apple devices
• No subscription or in-app paywall

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open a memo and start recording
2. Stop when finished
3. Choose Transcribe to create searchable text

Great for meetings, lectures, interviews, and quick ideas.

The widgets launch the memo flow; they do not record or play audio directly inside the widget.

Capture the thought now and organize it later.
