I’ve been attempting to use this app and apply for a card for months, I used it in the public beta and on the official release of iOS 16 and been expecting updates to ensure it still worked for users but it just crashed every time I try to open the app. I’ve also contacted yap via there social media streams to ask them to take a look but got no response at all so felt compelled to write this review. Will certainly think twice about putting money into an account t that can only be accessed by an application that doesn’t work and they dot seem to care about. Must be loosing customers every day. 2 months since the last update…. appalling and quite sad. Even worst than that, they DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT FOR ALL NATIONALITIES. even though you are an employee of well known company working and living in UAE. ### 4/5 — Apple Pay Payment *2022-01-19, version 1.5.1* YAP is a very convenient App for transferring money between my friends and family, not only that, it is also super beneficial and makes every day purchases so easy. By adding my YAP card to my Apple Pay Wallet, I tap it everywhere and at anytime especially when I am on a rush to buy things. Got my card in around 3 days and still unable to use my card due to some documents requirement. EID scan was carried out successfully. YAP doesn’t tell me which document are further required. I contacted the customer service twice but they say that your account is still processing. Liv by Emirates NBD didn’t have such issues and my account was opened in one go. They steal your money *2024-01-09* My account has been locked for 6+ months and Yap has stolen my money. I email them practically every week and my emails are ignored and not replied to. It’s nearly impossible to get through to someone on the phone. The couple of times I got through to a person they ask me to resend KYC documents which I have sent multiple times with everything they asked for. My last call in December they told me they’re closing my account and sent me a closure form to receive my funds, the closure form says they will liquidate my funds - I do authorise Yap to liquidate my funds!! If I do not receive a response to this review then I will be reporting to the police and regulators for fraud along with all the proof of my ignored correspondence. ### 1/5 — Won’t create account *2023-11-23* I tried to create an account a few days ago and apparently I am 59,295th in line. This position hasn’t changed since i signed up. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Where is my money??? *2023-06-27* Why can I not open my account? Always says error occurred, why???? I've been calling the costumer service but no kne cares to call back even though they gave you that option! They will make you hold the line forever!!! Whoever signed up last year were lucky enough because now it will keep you in a queue for ages and the number doesnt change at all! Every time I talk to customer service they say, “ Due to the large number of applications, we have received, your account activation will take longer than usual, but rest assured that we will do everything possible to get your account fully activated.” Same automated text they repeat every time. If I can’t use the account or debit card then what’s the point? I read reviews before downloading the app for the first time and people were saying their account still isn’t activated. The KYC form that they send in Microsoft Word format is generally some kind of separate nonsense, the first time I encounter this - it feels like this is an organization from the basements, and not a digital bank. I tried to get through to them from different ends - support, facebook - to no avail. Nobody can do anything. In other words, this entire bank is one of the clearest manifestations of gouging, slowness and indifference. When it wasn’t even my fault and I shouldn’t have faced this problem. I trusted yap but this app is totally useless and they cannot fix mistakes that they did. I got a call which went like this “ 1- what's your income? 2- you can't do this you can't be that 3- this will be the limit that will be the limit” Basically everything that was negative under the sun, he just threw at me. Probably the fastest experience I ever had with opening up an account. Been using YAP now for a few months and I love how quick and easy it is to send money.
