They really need to strip it right down to just randomly reminding you with maybe a menu where you can say it was a good time or it wasn’t a good time to learn when it’s a good time to remind you. But the latest version is so buggy. It’s stuck on a blank white loading screen and I can’t access my reminders anymore to add or edit them. Notifications are fine though. Please fix ASAP. The previous version of this app was enough but on updating this week it erased the last 5 years of reminders I’d created. ### 3/5 — Great app that just screwed up its users *2024-11-14, version 3.4.7* I’ve been using this app for years and loved its simple interface. It’s super effective at random reminders. Just great! But now it’s gone and updated and added new features that I don’t need—which is probably fine for someone else—and in the process it DELETED ALL THE REMINDERS. What?!? There was no warning, no way to save them, no nothing! They probably would have run forever if I hadn’t made the mistake of opening the app, but as soon as you do, it pops up this friendly little walkthrough screen that hides the fact that it’s just trashed your reminders! You don’t realize it until you’re asked to set your *first* reminder and are presented with a blank screen…and then the penny drops. It’s all gone. You have to create it all from scratch. Hope you remember what you had in there, because there’s no way to get it back! And I have to say that the new features are really confusing compared to the simplicity of the old layout. All I want are the random reminders. That’s all I ever needed. Don’t confuse me with this other stuff. I hope you won’t ever trash your users’ data like this again. This is the second time an update has deleted custom reminders. This latest version is also bloated and cumbersome, robbed of its previous elegant simplicity, and now entirely over-engineered. Insert sad face here. Original review: Simple straightforward interface, not cluttered and weighed down by pref settings. Greatly appreciate the apparent lack of restriction on the number of characters/words assigned to each reminder/message. Does exactly what it says and delivers effortlessly, a seeming rarity in apps today. Five stars if the limitation on the number of reminder notifications was removed or increased beyond the current minimum set by the Developer. After the update, I can’t use Yapp at all because critical buttons are offscreen. So I’m just stuck. Can’t use Yapp at all. There were a few key features missing. The ability to slide a reminder on/off is key. That was one main feature that was needed and you nailed it. The other thing that I think can be improved is increasing the number of reminders per day. I'd like to be able to set that to whatever number I'd like. It should be customizable, I want to be reminded MANY things MANY times a day! If you increased that from 9 (or 12), I'd gladly pay for this app. Keep up the great work.
