Notably, features that were standard in Sonar are now locked behind an expensive paywall, with some basic server settings either being inaccessible or currently unavailable. The $25 charge for simple functionalities feels excessive and reminiscent of a cash grab. In terms of performance, the app suffers from clunky movement. input lag. Not being able to crop profile pics the way you want. detracting from its usability. Reflecting on Sonar’s trajectory, it began with promise but later shifted focus towards NFTs, coinciding with a lack of updates and eventual decline, and Given that Yap Yap Proximity Yap involves a similar team, there is an uneasy feeling about its future, fearing a repeat of past disappointments. While it’s encouraging to see the old community reuniting on this platform, the current state of Yap Yap Proximity Yap raises concerns about its direction and commitment to user satisfaction. Js sharing my thoughts but Hopefully a good app with longevity comes out of this cause the ideas are great and unique ### 3/5 — I got it and found out you have to pay for bigger rooms then deleted it 💀💀💀 *2025-03-02, version 1.10.0* qqq and Armand and whoever else shoulda js kept sonar 🤷‍♂️ maybe I’ll check back in a few months to see how it’s doing ### 3/5 — YapYap *2025-02-15, version 1.8.0* This is a great app if you liked sonar, the app is fairly still new so many fixes and new things is constantly gonna be added. The only downside is that although like sonar when there was a coin system to buy usernames, that is no longer the case… I’m not sure if there even is a coin system, but if you’re interested in a 3 letter username you have to spend a whooping 25 dollars which in theory is a good idea but it’s too expensive. In which I understand why (so that not everyone has a 3 letter or emoji username).
