## What is YARAI?

Yarai scores skincare ingredients by how much is in the formula, not just whether they appear. It reads any label with no barcode, estimates each ingredient's rough concentration from INCI list position, and analyzes your entire routine for graded conflicts with severity reasoning.
Trace amounts and active doses are judged differently, the way cosmetic chemistry actually works. Thresholds follow EU regulation (CosIng).
Yarai was built for the moment you're standing in front of your shelf wondering if any of it is actually working.
SCAN ANY PRODUCT IN SECONDS:

Point your camera at the front label. No barcode needed, so it works on Korean products, overseas, or brand-new items other apps can't find.
Yarai reads the label, recovers the full ingredient list, and estimates concentrations from label order, because the law requires that order to follow concentration. Then it tells you what's doing the work and what's just along for the ride.
Works on skincare, haircare, and cosmetics.

An honest score, not a verdict.

Here's something most skincare apps won't tell you: nobody outside the lab knows the exact concentrations in your bottle. Brands are only required to list ingredients in order of how much is in the formula, from most to least. That order is real information: it's the difference between a product built around an active and one where that active is a rounding error near the bottom of the label. So we read it, carefully, and estimate from it.

But an estimate is what it is, and we'd rather say so than dress it up. Your 0-to-100 score is built from that ordering, with formulation context applied wherever we can actually verify it. It's honest math, not a measurement, and it was never meant to be a diagnosis. Use it the way it's good for: comparing two products side by side, catching the thing on the label worth a second look, walking into the store knowing which question to ask. A number that helps you think is worth more than a verdict that asks you to stop.

UNDERSTAND THE SCORE:

Every product gets a 0–100 score based on its ingredients, their estimated concentrations, and the evidence behind them.
See exactly which ingredients affected the score, and why.
Context-aware for your situation: pregnancy, acne-prone, sensitive, and more.

SEE HOW YOUR PRODUCTS INTERACT:

Some ingredients reduce each other's effectiveness. Others can irritate when layered.
Yarai checks your whole routine and grades interactions by severity, from "space these out" to "don't combine," with the reasoning for each.
Your shelf works as one system instead of fighting itself.

BUILD A ROUTINE THAT MAKES SENSE:

Add your products and Yarai builds an AM/PM routine around your skin type and concerns.
Know what to apply, when, and why.

INDEPENDENT BY DESIGN: Scores come from ingredient research and EU/FDA regulatory data, never from brand relationships. No brand can pay to change a score.

Side-by-side product comparison
Alternates surface: when you have multiple products that fill the same step, Yarai shows you which to swap in and when

### 5/5 — Lovely product

*2026-08-02*

This app is so amazing! You can easily scan or search for your skincare products, and it helps you build a routine that actually makes sense. One of my favorite features is that it flags ingredient conflicts, so you know which products shouldn’t be used together in the same routine. It has made creating and maintaining my skincare routine so much easier.

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2026-06-29*

I’ve tested quite a few skincare apps, and this one has been the most genuinely useful. It makes it incredibly easy to understand whether a product is worth buying by giving a straightforward evaluation backed by clear explanations, rather than leaving you to interpret a long ingredient list on your own.

One feature I especially appreciate is the ingredient analysis. Instead of simply listing what’s inside a product, it explains the role of each ingredient and points out which ones are helpful, which ones might be irritating, and why. That level of detail is presented in a way that’s easy to follow, even if you don’t have a skincare background.

Another thing that impressed me is how well it uncovers ingredient information that’s often difficult to find. So many products have tiny labels, folded packaging, or stickers covering important details. This app makes that information accessible and easy to understand, which makes shopping much more confidence-inspiring.

What I like most, though, is that it doesn’t expect you to be a skincare expert. Whether you’re just getting started or simply want to avoid wasting money on products with great marketing but mediocre formulas, it gives practical, unbiased guidance without overwhelming you.

Overall, it’s an excellent app that saves time, simplifies skincare decisions, and helps you feel much more confident about the products you choose.

### 5/5 — Amazingly helpful

*2026-06-20*

I have been using expensive brand name products for my night routine but was always skeptical of if they actually worked. This app helped me educate myself and realize how some of the stuff I used to use actually are not the best! It is easy to scan a product and see what it has and if any of the ingredients could be harmful. Thumbs up to the developers 😍

### 5/5 — Skincare Information That Makes Sense

*2026-06-10*

Honestly, this is the kind of app I wish existed years ago. Clean design, useful information, and explanations that actually make sense. Instead of throwing a bunch of ratings at you, it actually explains what's inside products and how they fit into your routine. It's helped me understand my skincare routine much better. It's clear a lot of care went into making this.

### 5/5 — Great App for Skincare Beginners

*2026-06-08*

As someone who is new to skincare, I have always been cautious about the products I use. I often worry about whether certain skincare products contain harmful ingredients, so I usually rely on recommendations from friends and avoid using too many products unless I feel confident about them.

Yarai has made skincare feel much more approachable for me. The app is easy to start using, even if you do not already know much about skincare. It explains things in a simple and helpful way without assuming you are already an expert, which makes it especially useful for beginners like me.

I appreciate that Yarai helps me learn more about skincare products and ingredients while giving me more confidence in the choices I make. For anyone who feels overwhelmed by skincare or wants a better understanding of what they are using, this app is a great place to start.

### 5/5 — Best skincare app ever

*2026-06-01*

Recently discovered this app and absolutely loving it. As someone who had no idea where to start with skincare, this app was tremendously helpful.

### 5/5 — Finally, a skincare app made for the rest of us

*2026-05-31*

Every other skincare app I've tried felt like it was built for people who already know the difference between a serum and a toner. Yarai is the first one that actually meets you where you are, whether you're shopping for a gift and have no idea what you're looking at, or you're trying to build your first skincare routine without falling for overhyped products and scams.

It doesn't overwhelm you with jargon or assume you have a 12-step routine already. It just gives you a clear, honest answer. That's genuinely rare.

If you've ever felt lost in the skincare aisle or suspicious of every "miracle" product you see online, this app is the answer you didn't know you needed.

### 5/5 — Excellent Ingredient Breakdown and Transparency

*2026-05-30*

I’ve really enjoyed using this app for reviewing skincare products. One of the best features is how quickly it gives a clear rating for a product along with explanations of why the product may be good or bad for your skin. I also like that it breaks down ingredients individually and highlights which ones are beneficial and which ones may be concerning.

What stood out the most to me is the ingredient transparency. Many skincare products make it difficult to fully see the ingredient list, especially when information is hidden behind stickers or hard-to-read packaging. This app does a great job surfacing those “hidden” ingredients and making the information much easier to access and understand.

Overall, it’s a very practical and informative tool for anyone trying to make smarter skincare choices without spending a huge amount of time researching products manually.

### 5/5 — very helpful, easy to use

*2026-05-29*

Really impressed with this app. It makes building a skincare routine super simple — I can just take pictures of my products, and it instantly analyzes them, checks for ingredient conflicts, gives each product a score, and explains everything clearly. I especially like how easy it is to create routines and understand what works well together. Clean, intuitive, and genuinely useful.

### 5/5 — No barcode necessary

*2026-05-27*

I really like that you can just scan the product and don't need the barcode like other apps. There are many times that I want to scan my friends' products and they don't have the original box which has the barcode on. This app conveniently finds any product you want.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.9 — 2026-09-28

Sun today, new on My Products.
See the UV where you are, and time your reapplications around the sunscreen already in your cabinet. No location? It still works. Pick your sunscreen and we keep the two hour timer.

An honest score, with the reason beside it.
Product pages now lead with the score and say what drove it. Where we recognise too few ingredients to be sure, we say so instead of showing a number we cannot stand behind.

A cleaner scan.
The viewfinder is full screen. Korean labels are now read as Korean, so the full ingredient list comes back. And the first run no longer waits on a blank screen.

Routines that explain themselves.
Every routine score carries its reason, and conflict warnings are grouped by what they actually are.

### 1.9.7 — 2026-09-08

Nothing to scan? Start browsing.
Search now opens with a shelf of popular products picked for your region. Tap any one to see its full analysis, and it joins your shelf on the way.

Your day, split in two.
Morning and evening each get their own card on Track, so you can tick off either half whenever you get to it. Your whole day sits underneath, in order.

Your plan at a glance.
The AI Plan now shows what stays the same every day and what rotates between nights, so a two-day cycle reads in one look. Alternates and overlaps come with product photos, so you can spot the bottle before you read the name.

Better with Korean labels.
Scanning reads dense ingredient lists more reliably, recognises far more Korean products, and speaks Korean when something goes wrong.

A fresh coat of paint.
New colours across the app, warm mornings and cool evenings, with soft watercolour washes throughout.

Plus polish and small fixes everywhere.

### 1.9.3 — 2026-08-19

Pro tips now appear on the product page right after a scan. Scan a sunscreen and you get the amount to use and how long to wait before sun, without having to build a routine first.
Every step you log on Track now gets counted.
Fixed a crash that could happen when rating the app.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-08-10

Routine reminders are here: pick your morning and evening times and YARAI nudges you when your skincare routine is due. New haircare analysis reads shampoo and conditioner labels for sulfates, silicones, drying alcohols and proteins. Clearer ingredient safety scores with named sources. Scan any skincare product, check ingredients, build your routine.
