### 5/5 — Really useful app!

*2026-09-19*

It identifies plants quickly and accurately, and the care tips are easy to follow. Simple, clean, and very helpful for plant lovers. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Expected a scam, got the real thing

*2026-08-12*

Downloaded this fully expecting another scammy plant app. Identified 14 plants on my street walk, got every one right including a weird cultivar my neighbor confirmed. The care schedule adjusts by season too, which I did not expect.

**Developer response:** Thank you, Collette! As the person building YardMate, this was incredibly nice to read. I’m especially glad it held up across 14 plants, including the weird cultivar. Thanks for giving it a chance when you were skeptical 💚

### 5/5 — Actual advice instead of panic

*2026-08-09*

My monstera had weird brown spots and google was useless (apparently everything means overwatering AND underwatering at the same time). Took a photo, app said fungal leaf spot, cut affected leaves, ease up on misting. Spots stopped spreading. Actual advice instead of panic.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m really glad YardMate helped you figure out what was actually going on with your monstera, and even happier to hear the spots stopped spreading. This is exactly what I hoped YardMate could do: turn plant panic into a clear next step.

### 5/5 — Makes walks more interesting

*2026-07-16*

I downloaded YardMate because I keep seeing the plants around my neighborhood that I couldn’t name. Now I find myself stopping to scan flower, tree, and even random weeds whenever I’m out for a walk.
What I like most is that it doesn’t just tell you the name and stop there. The short story and background about each plants make learning much more personal. I’v start to noticing plants I use to walk right past, every walk feels like I am discovering something new. It’s become one of this app I open because I am curious , not because I have to

**Developer response:** Thank you, this is exactly what we hoped the stories would do. A name on its own
is easy to forget, but the fact that a plant was carried across an ocean, or used
as medicine 500 years ago, tends to stay with you. That is why we write them.

One thing you may not have noticed: every scan is saved in your history, so a few
months of walks quietly turns into a record of your own neighbourhood. Enjoy the
next one.

### 5/5 — Actually useful for a beginner

*2026-07-16*

I bought a few plants after moving into a new apartment and quickly realized I had no idea what I was doing. I mainly downloaded this to identify them, but I’ve ended up using the care reminders more than anything else.

The advice is straightforward and usually answers exactly what I’m wondering, like whether a yellow leaf means too much water or not enough. I still forget to check the app sometimes, but my plants definitely look better than they did before.

**Developer response:** Congratulations on the new place, and thank you for writing this. Coming for
identification and staying for the care side is exactly the path we designed for.

On forgetting to check in: you should not have to. If reminders are not on yet,
turn them on, and put the widget on your home screen, it shows what needs water
today, so the app comes to you instead of the other way round. Your plants sound
like they are in good hands.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-10-12

A hornbeam leaf starts out folded. Inside the winter bud it lies pleated along every vein, corrugated like a paper fan, packed into a fraction of its size. In spring the pleats swing open and the same leaf lies flat in the light. Some things are made to open.

What's new:
• iPhone Duo layouts, folded and open
• Label scan in search
• iPad landscape
• Support for iOS 17 and later
• Mushroom safety notes
• Bug fixes

### 1.11.0 — 2026-09-23

A lima bean can name its attacker. When spider mites begin to feed, its leaves release a scent that a simple tear never produces, and predatory mites follow it straight to the pests. The call is not for help in general, but for help with exactly this. Good care starts with seeing the exact problem.

What's new:
• Disease photos for each plant
• Refreshed app icon
• Experience improvements
• Bug fixes

### 1.10.0 — 2026-09-04

A dandelion seed flies on almost nothing. Its crown of bristles is ninety percent open air, and that emptiness anchors a ring of still air above the seed, holding it aloft long past the field it grew in. What carries it is the part that isn't there. A story travels further than the plant.

What's new:
• Share plant stories as cards
• Experience improvements
• Bug fixes

### 1.9.0 — 2026-08-28

The willow wrote the first prescription. When infection strikes, it floods its tissues with salicylic acid — the molecule that gave us aspirin — and warns distant leaves to arm themselves before trouble spreads. It reads its own symptoms, then treats them. Every cure begins with reading the signs.

What's new:
• Plant Doctor for sick plants
• Care schedule overview
• Custom reminder repeat cycles
• Experience improvements
• Bug fixes

### 1.8.0 — 2026-08-14

Different flowers open at different hours. Chicory at four, dandelion at dawn, evening primrose only after the light goes. Linnaeus once laid them out as a clock you could plant. Every garden already keeps a schedule.

What's new:
• A care calendar for your garden
• Overdue tasks in one place
• Reminders only where they apply
• Experience improvements
• Bug fixes
