I work on several projects at a time so sometimes I forget what I was using on each project. This app keeps up with all of that. Plus it can keep an inventory of my yarn stash. When I start a new project, I can look in the app to see if I have the yarn I need or if I need to buy some. And one of the best features is it has row and stitch counters. This app does that! I love that you can log all sorts of info about projects. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn’t is the ability to draw on the PDFs. Dazu ein sehr ansprechendes Design. Die Synchronisation zwischen iPhone und iPad klappt auch wunderbar, ohne dass man irgendwo einen Account erstellen müsste, einfach über die Cloud. I found it with this app, I like all the different features you can add in, it really does a punch! I’ve already purchased the life time option, only $16 in well worth it. I already have seven projects in and I can’t wait to add other ones that I’ve already done. Convenient way to keep track of what I’m working on but also to pull up some thing that I did if I want to show a friend. Or just last year’s projects this year’s projects etc. Right now the only suggestion I have, is to be able to add more rose in the counter section. If you have more than three colors. Or three sections then you would have to delete one and start over. Which isn’t bad, but it would be easier to keep track if you could add more rows. And maybe the option to name them? Mega einfach zum bedienen und es ist alles drin was man braucht. Was ich mir wünschen würde wäre: wenn man das unbegrenzte jährliche Abo gekauft hat , das man es dann vor Ablauf des Abo nicht auf einmalig unbegrenzt für immer kaufen kann. Zur Verlängerung des Abo wird mir angeboten unbegrenzt jährlich/ unbegrenzt monatlich.Das finde ich Schade. Wäre schön, das man die Möglichkeit hat dann auf einmalige Bezahlung auf dauerhaft unbegrenzt kaufen kann. ### 5/5 — Incredible App & Developer! *2023-11-24, version 2.11.0* Apart from the incredible versatility of this app, it is set in a totally higher league than any other of its type because of the developer. Take a look at the list of updates in the version history! She is constantly looking at ways to improve the app - by adding new features regularly. I have contacted her with questions/ideas in the past and she responded very quickly, and was already working on them! I highly recommend this app. ### 5/5 — Fairly ok *2023-10-25* I just purchased this app. I liked the free one as far as it went. So i paid for the upgrade. I would like to edit a pattern in the document. I have added notes correcting the parts i need to make different. But it would be nice to be able to edit it. So far i have to go to the website and download to yarnal. Sometimes i write my own patterns but not able to save them to yarnal. **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your review. Thank you! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — In-App-Käufe *2025-06-16, version 2.14.1* Ich habe die App bereits dauerhaft für 19,99 gekauft und musste jetzt noch ein neues Abo für jährlich 4,99 kaufen. Das ist doch nicht in Ordnung. Erst heißt es: einmalig, dann plötzlich nach einem Jahr: Abo Außerdem hackt die App immer wieder mal, schließt sich plötzlich und synchronisiert auch nicht mit dem IPad. Insgesamt war ich schon zufriedener. :( ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work correctly *2025-05-02, version 2.14.1* I purchased the unlimited version of this app so that my projects would sync across my devices. This feature has never worked for me and I’m disappointed that I wasted my money on the unlimited fee for something that doesn’t work. I’ve tried uninstalling on both devices and redownloading. I’ve verified that the devices are logged into the same account. I can’t get them to sync. I’ll try finding a different app that allows for the syncing. ### 2/5 — Lost everything *2025-09-18, version 2.15.0* I’m annoyed. I paid for the full version and took the time to enter in some of the projects and yarn I was working on and it’s all gone! ### 2/5 — Great app til everything disappeared *2025-03-01, version 2.14.1* I had been using this app for about a year and had a good number of projects in it. Everything was great until one day I opened it and everything was gone. It is checked on to backup to iCloud but nothing is there. I emailed a few times and go no responses. This is horrible for me bcuz I lost all the patterns and projects I had saved only in the app. I could only assume there is not good customer service since I received no response. If you use the app I would keep copies of your stuff elsewhere too which the point of the app is to keep everything there. I only rated it 3 stars however as I couldn't save my projects exactly how I would have liked. For example: 1. When I add a new project a random colour was selected automatically - I couldn't chose a different colour for each category. 2. The categories history cannot be edited or deleted when I made a typo error. 3. My projects don't save in alphabetical order. 4. Thank you! ### 4/5 — Simple and solid option *2025-05-17, version 2.14.1* I really like this app but we NEED an area to input the yarn weight (as in its thickness, not the weight of the full skein). Also, I wish we had the option of customizing what we keep track of. The are some areas that are useless to me while there are things I want to keep track of but there is no designated area to write it in. I end up either using one of the areas that are useless to me or the notes to put in the info. It’s an annoying workaround. I wish the UX was better but it’s simple and useful. ### 4/5 — Good app *2024-03-02* **** update **** Please note to the developer, since the update there is a new issue when marking the row completed on main row counter screen. It will not move the row on properly and is intermittent. It also for some reason stops the clock despite tapping on the large area for the row counter. This is frustrating because it stops you getting into a rhythm because you need to stop and correct the counter and restart the clock. It’s a good app. It keeps things nice and organised. As a married knitter, my wife will always moan about my stash of yarn. With this app I am able to show her that it is all needed and what projects it’s needed for. What would be a great addition is if you can put the yarn as Chunky, DL, Aran etc. there doesn’t seem to be a place for this. If this could be done then the next part would be for the app to be able to tell me if I have any of the right yarn type for a project based on the requirement. About the row counter screen, I will check it out right away and create an update of Yarnal that fixes the issue. Leider funktioniert die Sprachsteuerung nicht richtig. 2 mal schaltet er eine Reihe hoch, danach ist Ende. Vielleicht wird es noch besser bei den nächsten Updates. Und endlich habe ich einen Überblick über meinen Stash 😁 ### 5/5 — Export backups regularly!!! *2026-05-19, version 2.15.0* I’ve used the app for two years and loved it—I’ve logged over a hundred projects and a vast collection of yarn. I strongly reccomend this app—it has a ton of features to include every thing you would want to and has been a godsend. HOWEVER, you NEED to have a backup! I had it happen that everything just suddenly dissapeared—reinstalling it restored some of the data but not nearly all of it. While this is a great and useful app, it’s extremely important to use the export feature. ### 5/5 — Synchronisation nicht immer verfügbar *2026-02-01, version 2.15.0* Leider gibt es in der letzten Zeit Probleme mit der Synchronisation. Keine Verbindung zur Cloud. Bevor man ein neues Projekt oder Wolle hinzufügt, müsste man erst nachschauen, ob die iCloud Synchronisation auf Grün steht. Es ist auch Schade, wenn man einem Projekt Wolle hinzufügt, dass das nicht automatisch im Vorrat ausgetragen wird. Otherwise great app and have tried others that are too cumbersome and even complex. I even put sewing patterns in under other. I would like a way to search by category. Also yarn size/type as in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Another thing is the yarn type. I have 2 bernat yarns there. But can’t find a way to add more. When i put a brand name in the search bar nothing comes up and i see no way to add . ### 5/5 — selbsterklärend, sehr gut durchdacht! *2025-06-13, version 2.14.1* Yarnal ist eine sehr durchdachte App. Übersichtlich, ohne Schnickschnack, aber mit allem, was man/frau braucht. Mein persönlicher gamechanger: die Spracherkennung beim Maschenzählen! Ich kann die App voll und ganz empfehlen 👍 Auch der Kundenservice ist schnell und sehr freundlich. Ich hatte ein Problem bei Synchronisieren und mir wurde innerhalb des selben Tages meiner Nachricht noch geholfen. ### 5/5 — Schön einfach *2025-06-09, version 2.14.1* Seid ungefähr zwei Wochen benutze ich die App und bin begeistert . Gut finde ich an den Reihenzähler das man halt mehrere benutzen kann bei einem Projekt. Ganz toll finde ich das man seinen Stash gut und übersichtlich eintragen kann. Da ich immer mehr Projekte auf den Nadeln habe hört jetzt endlich das Zetel Chaos auf. PDF Speichern herrlich . Also um es kurz zumachen für mich ist diese App ideal .
