## What is Yarnify?

Most yarn project trackers count one project at a time. Yarnify counts every piece - sleeves, body, hood - each with its own row count, pattern repeats, and starting offset, all tucked into one project. So when you come back to your work after a coffee break (or a three-week break), you pick up exactly where you left off.

Yarnify is built for knitters and crocheters and syncs over iCloud across iPhone and Apple Watch, so your counts follow you wherever you craft.

A PROJECT, BROKEN INTO PIECES
A sweater isn't one count - it's a body, two sleeves, maybe a collar. In Yarnify, you create each piece inside the project with its own type (rows or rounds), pattern repeat, and starting row. The app shows your live count and how many pattern repeats you've completed, so you can stop doing arithmetic in your head.

BIG COUNTERS THAT JUST WORK
Every piece gets its own large, color-tinted counter, easy to tap one-handed while your other hand is busy. No squinting, no fiddling, no fear of losing your place.

FINISH WITH A FLOURISH
When you've woven in the last end, tap "Mark as Complete" to send your project off with a burst of confetti and a satisfying haptic high-five. Completed projects move to their own list, sorted by the day you finished them, with counters locked so you can't bump a row on finished work.

AT A GLANCE, FROM ANYWHERE
New widgets bring your works-in-progress to your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch:
- Project Progress shows the most recently updated piece of any project, in the project's color.
- Project Icon is a quick launcher tinted to match its project.
- Yarnify Logo is a brand-colored shortcut into the app.
Tap any widget to jump straight to the right project or piece.

REMEMBER WHAT YOU USED
Which needles did you reach for? What weight was that yarn? Save the details right alongside your counts - the needle or hook sizes you're using, the yarn weight, the size you're making, and free-form notes for everything else. Yarnify speaks both metric and US sizing and converts between them, so "4.0 mm" and "US 6" are just two names for the same needle.

SEE EVERYTHING YOU'VE MADE
Open Stats from Settings for a celebration of your craft: every project, piece, row, and round you've ever counted, your favorite needle and hook, and a breakdown by category. Your sheep sits in a ring that fills as you finish projects, carrying you up cozy milestones from First Stitch to Legendary Sheep.

EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
- Track every project piece by piece - sweaters, socks, blankets, amigurumi, and anything else on your needles or hook
- 28 project categories, from sweaters and socks to baby booties, coasters, doilies, and pet sweaters
- 13 project colors to match your stash, your yarn, or your mood
- Pattern repeat tracking with automatic repeat counting
- Custom starting row offsets, so you can pick up a project that's already underway
- Save each project's needles or hooks, yarn weight, size, and notes - so you always know what you used and can pick the project up cold
- Multiple needle or hook sizes per project, in metric and US, with automatic conversion - show your preferred system (or both) from Settings
- Mark projects complete with confetti, haptic feedback, and a dedicated Completed Projects list
- An Overall Stats screen with lifetime totals, your favorite needle and hook, and cozy milestones to reach
- One-tap project duplication - perfect for second socks, matching mittens, and color variations
- Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch widgets that deep-link to your work
- iPhone and Apple Watch app with iCloud sync - count from your wrist while you craft
- Built-in unit converters for inches/centimeters and yards/meters
- Reference tables for knitting needle and crochet hook sizes (US and metric)
- Fully localized in English and German

Yarnify is a small, thoughtful tool for people who'd rather spend their time making than keeping track. Get started - we'll keep your place.

### 4/5 — Needs a tweak

*2026-06-17, version 2.3.0*

I downloaded this app, as I have been looking for one that has different colors for my projects. In my opinion, this keeps the screen from being boring. I love all the different colors for all my different projects. What I don’t love is the fact that I can’t delete or edit a project if I put it in the app by mistake, or if I make a mistake while putting it in the app. It would help a lot if that ability was available.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app, as that usually clears the data, but my mistakes are still there.

June 17, 2026 -

I’m adding something to my review, as Apple won’t allow me to write a new one.

The problems I detailed in my previous review were addressed and taken care of, and I am grateful for that. A new update allowed me to change my favorite colors to favorite shades, which I loved.

I am not in love with the latest update. I was really enjoying the pastel colors with a white background. Now, the different projects are pastel colors with dark backgrounds. I preferred the white background, and I can’t find a way to change it back. I think you should give people the option to choose a dark or light (white) background.

### 5/5 — Watch

*2026-01-11, version 2.0.0*

Wonderful ✨😍only thing that I suggest is to be able to put it on the watch face so I don't have to go to the app list to use it

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for trying the app and for taking the time to write such a detailed review 🙏

Good news: you can delete projects right now.
To delete a project, simply:
	1.	Go to your list of projects
	2.	Swipe left on the project you want to remove
	3.	Tap “Delete”

Because your projects are always synced with iCloud, just deleting and reinstalling the app won’t clear them — iCloud restores your data when you reinstall. Once you delete a project using the swipe gesture above, it will also be removed from iCloud.

Your point about making editing/deleting more obvious is totally fair. I’ll look into making this clearer in the interface so it’s easier to discover in the future.

Thanks again for the feedback and for using the app 💛

### 1/5 — Can’t change row number

*2024-12-14, version 2.0.0*

Why does everything say 45 rows? I want to see that I have to do 24 rows, not 45

### 2/5 — Potential

*2024-01-27, version 1.0.5*

Easy and straightforward but it closes every time my watch goes to sleep and needs to be reopened from the app list. So frustrating. I cannot leave my watch “always on” because then the battery doesn’t last the day.

### 1/5 — Times out

*2024-01-17, version 1.0.5*

By the time I’m done a row, the watch face is back on screen and I have to navigate back to the app. I assumed it would stay open until I closed it. This makes it not worth the bother.

### 2/5 — Watch update broke it

*2023-12-02, version 1.0.5*

I’ve been using this pretty successfully for years. Great to have multiple projects. I have it as a complication on my watch face so I can quickly tap the count when needed. This last watch update broke the app so that every time I tap my the face the app needs to launch from scratch instead of just taking me to my active count. That means I need to navigate a few screens to tap the count. Any lans for an update?

### 1/5 — Disparu!!!

*2023-01-07, version 1.0.5*

Grrrr!

### 2/5 — WatchOS6?

*2021-06-02, version 1.0.5*

I was having trouble doing things on the app and went to the website and it said there watchOS6 or later. My Apple Watch is version 4. I cannot see in the App Store that an Apple Watch 6 is needed. I cannot find instructions anywhere on how to use the app.

### 5/5 — Not working with Apple Watch anymore

*2021-01-27, version 1.0.5*

Up until now I liked this app a lot. I downloaded the latest Apple iOS software update & now it no longer appears as an app option on my watch. When I go on my iPhone to reload it it says the app was purchased but it no longer appears on my watch as an
option. PLEASE NOTE UPDATE BELOW 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🥲

Update: Julian helped me a great deal walking me through the process of going through the App Store on my watch (not my iPhone). Apple prompted me I already purchased the app & just redownloaded it. Works fine now!!! I appreciate Julian’s patience & perseverance.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.3.0 — 2026-06-16

SEE EVERYTHING YOU'VE MADE
Open the new Stats screen from Settings to take in your whole crafting life at a glance: projects started and finished, pieces, and every row and round you've ever counted - plus your favorite needle and hook and a breakdown by category. Your sheep sits inside a ring that fills as you finish projects, carrying you up cozy milestones from First Stitch all the way to Wool Wizard and, one day, Legendary Sheep. Give it a tap for a little confetti.

A FRESH LOOK
Yarnify got a warm visual refresh. Project cards now wear their own color as a soft gradient, your counters and piece screens are brighter and easier to read, and editing happens in clean full-screen forms. There's a new Settings screen too, along with sharper needle and hook reference charts and converters.

As always, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

### 2.2.1 — 2026-06-11

REMEMBER WHAT YOU USED
Which needles did you reach for? What weight was that yarn? What size are you making again? The details that are obvious while you're casting on are long gone three weeks later.
Now you can save them right alongside your counts: the needle or hook sizes you're using (add as many as the project takes), the yarn weight, the size you're making, and free-form
notes for everything else - the pattern source, a tweak you made, a reminder to block gently. Yarnify speaks both metric and US sizing and converts between them, so "4.0 mm" and
"US 6" are just two names for the same needle.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-06-02
