## What is Yarrow?

Yarrow is a quiet I-Ching companion for your iPhone.

Ask a real question. Cast a hexagram by the present moment, or by three numbers. Read the answer.

What sets Yarrow apart is the *sources*. Most I-Ching apps paraphrase. Yarrow draws from nineteen classical Chinese commentaries — Yang Tian Cai, the Duan Yi Tian Ji, baihua notes, Zhu Xi's Book of Changes — translated into clear English. You see the modern reading, the historical anecdote, and the original Chinese on tap.

– Two casting methods: time-based, or three-number input
– 64 hexagrams, 384 lines, with moving lines (bian gua) computed for you
– Classical sources in English: Overview, Judgment, Commentary, Plain-language note, Historical anecdote
– AI reading: your question + the cast + the classical sources, woven into one calm reply
– Journal: save readings, look back at how the lines unfolded
– No account. No tracking. 30 readings a day; the oracle rests at night.

This app is for reflection and entertainment. It is not a substitute for professional advice in finance, medicine, law, or relationships. The I-Ching is a mirror — what you do with the reflection is yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 0.1.18 — 2026-08-28

Tarot now stays fully inside the iPhone app, with a fixed upright card, a Waite source excerpt, a direct plain-language answer, truthful wait guidance, native sharing, and privacy-safe feedback. This update also includes the latest home, sharing, wait, and answer-feedback improvements.

### 0.1.17 — 2026-08-11

One Lens now lets you choose I Ching or Tarot. Two Lenses asks both traditions the same question in one tap, starts immediately, and shows truthful progress while it works. Answers lead with a clear direction, then compare only supported common ground, differences, or conflicts—never forced agreement. Returning keeps your question and lens choice. Classical, plain-language, and Waite sources remain clearly labeled.

### 0.1.16 — 2026-07-26

Reading explanations are now easier to understand and verify. Chinese readings include a clearly labeled plain-language guide, English reference translations identify Yang Tian Cai, AI reflections render more cleanly, and service errors offer clearer retry guidance.

### 0.1.14 — 2026-07-25

Save to Journal is now easier to find. It appears directly after the main reading and optional AI reflection, before related hexagrams and longer source notes. Existing save behavior and duplicate-save protection are unchanged.

### 0.1.13 — 2026-07-24

Plain-language readings now appear right after the classical sources, so every hexagram is easier to understand. The detailed reading for your question is also easier to find.
