## What is Year Planner +?

This is a complete rewrite of our original Year Planner app which was the first of its kind on the app store. Originally developed as an iPad only app, given the larger format of the new phones it is now available for these devices as well. This app was developed to help diarise and plan the big events for the year and be able to have an overview of the full year at a quick glance, very similar to the old paper based year planners one used to put up on the wall. 

This app was not developed to replace your day to day diary but rather as a planning tool. In the new  reincarnation of this app we have added the ability to include your iCal calendars. You also have the option of only including full day events or all of your diarised events.

In addition we have added the ability for you to share local calendars with others simply by sharing a link with them. As you update your calendar it will be updated on all the devices you have shared it with. Perfect for teams planning their year.

I teach a couple of dozen seminar events throughout the year. 

I’m a visual person and each year, I used to have to print out a year view calendar to mark up by hand as I brainstormed how best to space each event within the visual context of the year.

In other calendar oriented apps, when I’m in month or week view, I can’t get the bigger picture planning scope that a year’s view offers. 

This simple app solves that. 

It allows me to color code by event and visually plan for the entire year—while viewing the entire year. 

It’s not meant to be your main calendar (I use BusyCal for that), it’s a visual planning tool for those that find bigger picture views helpful. 

(Incidentally, a common problem many people have in their lives is their inability to see the bigger picture.)

You need to be able to DELETE events in calendar...  It let’s you put dates on the calendar... but will not let you delete events....  PLUS the app support site is not up...

I have a year planner app that I really like but it won't work worth the latest version of IOS and they aren't upgrading it. I need a replacement because I use this app almost every day. This app was supposed to fit that need. The look and feel was great and so I bought it. 

The app is supposed to allow you the ability to see a whole year at a glance to plan your year. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the the app doesn't do that very well. 

The first issue is the ability to see a year at a glance. For some reason the app designers decided to go with a layout that lists all of the days of the month in a single row. This results in a lot of white space and is not a layout that works well on a phone where space is at a premium. 

The next issue is font size. To see a year on one screen means you can't see any fonts. You can't see dates or months which makes the year view pretty much unusable. 

Suggestions
Add a view that shows a full year with readable font sizes. The months laid out in a 3x4 grid would be possible solution. 

Allow color coding of events. 
This will allow you to see at glance what types of activities you have a scheduled for each day. E.g. Personal travel, work travel, special events etc. 

I was hopeful this app would meet my needs. It didn't. Fortunately it was only $2.

It is a great concept, and exactly what I was looking for, except that it doesn't work!  It creates multiple events at a time, but won't delete them; I wasn't able to edit an event title; etc.  I only spent 10 minutes or so with it, after buying it ... very expensive and frustrating entertainment!  Please fix it ... I need it, not to mention that I paid for it!

This is a great little app. Imports from iCal, which is VERY convenient. From what I see it doesn't export to iCal, which for my purposes is awesome. I don't need duplication. There are 2 things I can recommend for improvement. 1- a format that is more traditional calendar in appearance, and 2- a month view. It is hard to lay out year-long planning when I can't visualize every other weekend in a traditional way. It may just take some time to adjust my thinking. Also, for my need, this would be MOST efficient if a month view could be exported and printed. Then I wouldn't have to make another monthly calendar for posting.  A great little app. Thanks.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to see the month view that is advertised in the App Store.  That's why I bought this app. The old version had it in a banner along the bottom.  Am I doing something wrong?

Finally, a developer found a way to show a year. After browsing my calendar for a few minutes I found I can get a very good idea of my events for the year, especially those scheduled for several days. 

The only thing I would ask for is the ability to lock in the months so they are always visible when I scroll.
