### 2/5 — Works, but not well

*2026-09-10*

I’ll preface by saying that I think this app is a pretty cool idea, and is executed decently, it just suffers from some pretty significant bugs, mostly with the video uploading aspect of things. I get that bugs are a thing in app development, it’s just annoying to be constantly running into the same issues for something you have to pay for a license to use.
1. Navigating the app/ website in general can just be difficult. Some headings or subheadings which it feels like should be able to click on don’t, and ways you navigate in other similar social apps aren’t the same, it just isn’t as intuitive as it could be and can be a pain to use correctly. The drafts feature is clunky and doesn’t work well. Navigating posts is a lot of scrolling that will lose your spot as attachments load. Posts can have a theme/ subheading, but (as far as I’ve found on the phone app, I think you can on the website) you can’t sort by that subheading to just see posts there. It’s clunky and not that intuitive at times.
2. Maybe more specific to my professor, but for posting videos longer than 1:30 (the longest you can record locally in app), it is just difficult to get a file size small enough to post a 3-5 minute video. The only way I’ve been able to record and post a video longer than 3 minutes is using Photo Booth on a Mac. If I’m not around that computer, I’m SOL, and I would post more than a single video but
3. You can’t post more than one video in one post/comment/reply. I get it’s a lot of data transfer, but still a bit annoying. Again, maybe that’s just my professor’s expectations exceeding the app’s abilities, but annoying for something we pay for
4. Even if you record in the phone app, every time I do the app just freezes and I have to close it and lose my progress. And it only records locally to the app, so every time that happens, you lose the video you just recorded
5. When you record on the phone and go to upload it (under 1:30, just like in app), the app will upload the video and then freeze completely in the same way when you go to hit submit. It’s just infuriating when trying to get an assignment in. I recorded the same video 4 times, and then tried to upload 5 more times before logging into the website version to finally successfully upload and post it. It’s just annoying.

### 1/5 — Invalid login

*2026-08-28*

Able to login on web. Can’t login on app, says password is wrong and when try to use link from email it just loads then stops. Please fix this, not able to login on app at all even after updating password.

### 1/5 — Riddled with Ads

*2026-08-25*

I paid for the app. I’m trying to do my school get your stupid ads out of my face - since you wanted me to tell you what I think so bad here it is: one star because you won’t stop advertising to me… I already paid for the app. I’m already paid for school, what more do you possibly want for me? My thoughts all right you they are: one star for aggravating me. Squeezing every drop of data they can from you. Finish college quick this app is like the app your work uses to track your movements n stuff. I’m sure they are saving everybody’s responses and profile pictures etc. seems evil. So thanks for asking what I thought. Stop advertising to me.

### 1/5 — Horrible app, for a horrible site.

*2026-08-22*

I have invested about 45 minutes thus far in “Yellowdig” for my college classes. This app sucks and the concept is dumb. It can’t be that hard, in 2026, to create an app that essentially works as social media for universities.

### 5/5 — Great social tool

*2026-08-04*

This app is a great social tool for interacting with classmates and instructors.

### 1/5 — Be better

*2026-07-03*

I really wish my school would stop using Yellowdig. It constantly glitches, and it’s becoming more frustrating than helpful. There have been multiple times where I clicked Submit, only to realize later that my post never actually went through. Even worse, my drafts don’t save, so if something goes wrong, I have to start all over again.

Today alone I spent almost 20 minutes just trying to attach a file. It feels like such a waste of time. Every time I submit a post, the app also asks me to leave feedback, but after I do, the prompt never disappears. That makes me wonder if my feedback is even being submitted.

It’s ironic because Mr. Johnson talks about identifying inefficient processes, and Yellowdig feels like a perfect example. Instead of making class discussions easier, it creates unnecessary obstacles and takes time away from actually learning.

### 2/5 — Too glitchy

*2026-06-25*

Too laggy, glitchy, and hard to keep track of content.

### 1/5 — Glitchy and not optimized for mobile layout

*2026-06-11*

I experience a ton of glitches when using this app. It is also not well modified from the web version to have a good mobile layout. These things really limit its usability

### 1/5 — Needs major help

*2026-06-09*

Too many bugs to be used efficiently. I understand the goal but this app needs help between freezing in comments and drafts never saving.

### 5/5 — Great for On The Go

*2026-05-12*

App is solid and useful to use when adding thoughts to my YD communities. App stability got better in 2026
