The drivers are trustworthy and do their job very well. They are also fellow college students and share a similar experience to me in that regard. This is a project created by a community to serve those around them. They know their customers. They know their values. If you are a college student who needs to get from A to B, Desi should be the first thing that pops into your mind. Once this gets rolling, there will be instant change. Either get in the Desi or get left on your dorm step. You don’t want to miss this. ### 5/5 — Desi Makes Students & Parents Comfortable! *2023-09-20* As a parent of college students, I’m always concerned about who’s driving my children around town. In smaller college towns like South Bend, the big rideshare companies are very expensive, not very prompt, and, most times, the drivers come from far away and can be pretty scary! Knowing that my kids are being driven by fellow students who have been vetted and certified by Desi gives me a sense of comfort. Also, I feel good about supporting hardworking college students working with Desi. On top of it all, Desi is much cheaper when compared to the surge pricing tactics used by the big rideshare companies on weekends and during home games. Using Desi is a no-brainer! Uber and Lyft’s price gouging are out of control, and do not make the college financial experience better by any means. Yelo comes in with a revolutionary idea behind ride shares - one that’s cheaper, social, and provides an accurate picture of what the move is. Essentially, it does a lot of that asking around “what’s the move tn” “where you guys going” and integrates directly into the rideshare experience itself, while being cheaper. I paid 6 dollars for my ride, and my driver was the chillest dude ever. It’s also really cool that they let their drivers keep 100% of the profits. Rides are so much cheaper than uber, and every trip is enjoyable knowing that the driver is going to be another student and not some random person on another app. When I’m not going out, driving is such an easy way to make some spending money on my own schedule.
