### 2/5 — Bothered

*2026-08-25, version 26.35.0*

The app crashes every time I try to open it to see a message or reply to a customer

### 3/5 — Clients’ reviews mislabeled in our profile

*2026-08-23, version 26.34.0*

The app is labeling our clients’ reviews as “Not Recommended”. Clients that contacted us and scheduled the service through Yelp. That is very prejudicial to our business. The “machine learning” tool is not working properly to identify fake reviews.

### 3/5 — None of my reviews ever go through

*2026-08-19, version 26.34.0*

I get some business but it’s very difficult. Everybody asked for our reviews and every email again saying I have a review doesn’t go through and then the ones that did got taken down so I actually told people not to leave me a review on because it won’t help anyway, and to go to other sources to leave me a review instead.

### 3/5 — Yelp hiding legitimate reviews

*2026-08-16, version 26.33.0*

Looks like Yelp hides reviews if the person giving the review doesn’t have a profile picture or isn’t very well known on Yelp I have several reviews from recent customers, but because of you hiding the reviews, I have one review total. I don’t care for this practice.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Review

*2026-08-29, version 26.35.0*

I am extremely disappointed with Yelp. An unfair one-star review was published on my business page, while none of the genuine five-star reviews submitted by my customers have appeared. It is very strange that Yelp allows a negative review to be displayed but filters out every positive one. This creates a misleading impression of my business and does not accurately reflect my customers’ experiences. Yelp should treat positive and negative reviews equally.

### 1/5 — Review Hijacking

*2026-08-28, version 26.35.0*

I think the reason Yelp is losing credibility is because the review software they have hijacks legitimate reviews. That’s not good for small, new businesses who rely on positive reviews. Lose the BS review software and maybe people may start trusting Yelp again.

### 1/5 — Disappointing Experience as a Small Business Owner

*2026-08-28, version 26.35.0*

As a small business owner, my experience with Yelp has been extremely disappointing.

We currently have only three customer reviews on Yelp, yet Yelp has chosen to hide one of them — a glowing review from an actual client. I discovered this only after the client referred a friend to us and specifically told her to read the review she had written. Her friend couldn't find it. The client then contacted me because she thought I had removed her review.

I hadn't. Yelp had hidden it.

The client was upset enough that she personally contacted Yelp and waited on hold for over an hour. She was eventually told by a representative named Jennifer that the issue would be fixed. Months later, her review is still hidden.

What makes this especially frustrating is that Yelp continues to display a very negative review of our business that includes profanity. Google removed that same review because of its content, while Yelp told us it could remain because it represented the reviewer's "opinion." Apparently a negative review containing profanity qualifies to be displayed, while a legitimate client's positive experience does not.

Meanwhile, Yelp representatives continue calling me every few weeks trying to sell advertising. I specifically told one representative, Anna, that I did not want any more advertising calls unless someone could first explain why all of our legitimate customer reviews weren't being shown. The calls have continued.

And I have already tried Yelp advertising. Last summer I spent a significant amount of money advertising with them and received zero conversions. By comparison, I now spend roughly half that advertising budget with Google and regularly receive approximately 4–5 conversions per month.

I understand that every platform has automated systems and policies for determining which reviews it recommends. What I don't understand is telling a customer that her legitimate review will be addressed, leaving it hidden for months, continuing to display a profanity-filled negative review, and repeatedly calling the business to sell advertising despite being asked not to.

Based on my experience as both a business owner and advertiser, I cannot recommend Yelp.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-08-27, version 26.35.0*

Yelp is literally where you find the garbage of all businesses your waste of money on advertising and I will tell you right now. Anyone that I’ve hired off Yelp that had good reviews was an absolute nightmare. If you own a business all of your customers which you’ve had contracts with paying customers, they will disallow their. Reviews and for example, had an ex coworker. Write a review and they allowed that there’s absolutely no checks and balances they allow. Absolute garbage on here I would not recommend business for yelp to anyone looking to hire a business with any acumen.

### 1/5 — Yelp is terrible

*2026-08-27, version 26.35.0*

They remove positive reviews that are earned because that don’t want to spread business positivity! Yelp is only a TWO Star rated Company within its own platform! Read my reviews in my pictures..

### 1/5 — Absolutely ridiculous

*2026-08-25, version 26.35.0*

So I own a landscaping business and after every job I ask them to review my business on Yelp Business. All of them obliged and I had 7 reviews! But in literally 2 weeks I have one now. Yelps only excuse is that there aren’t ,”recommended “. I’m so tired of this and this is your one star review 😊

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2026-08-21, version 26.34.0*

Everything half works

### 1/5 — DONT USE!!! USE GOOGLE BUSINESS

*2026-08-20, version 26.34.0*

OVER THE YEARS THEY PRETTY MUCH HOUND YOU TO ADVERTISE WITH THEM. They constantly remove legitimate reviews while leaving fake ones. Email you constantly. Then today they took my image off my website to promote their website. The audacity !!Took my image and not even include me in the search or link back to my website. Yelp needs a page on google so everyone can give them the true neg feedback they deserve! You can read true reviews on other platforms about how Yelp does business. Just google search it. I’ve always trusted google over Yelp…

### 1/5 — Useless app and hounding sales staff

*2026-08-18, version 26.34.0*

App is useless, have had a number of people contact me with business enquiries but I can’t see them within the app. A sales rep kept hounding me to put money into advertising (which I had done previously to no success, fortunately unneeded now). Despite me saying the app was useless and I didn’t want to advertise as I was full, the sales reps call me frequently. Thinking of deleting and removing but haven’t for whatever reason.

### 1/5 — I hate yelp!

*2026-08-17, version 26.33.0*

I hate this company and all of the annoying people that work for it! You ended my business before it even started with your harassment and unethical behavior. Selling my information to Apple? Rot in hell! Now I have a business listing at my personal address when I was a mobile service in the first place this is absurd and I will be burning my Apple products and if you are a yelp employee choke on dust.

*2026-08-25, version 26.34.0*

We’ve tried on a lot of sites and spent much more without results. We’ve had success on yelp on exposure and reaching new clients.
