## What is 问易 Yi?

From uncertainty to a decision of your own | Listen · Illuminate · Walk beside you. Yi is an I Ching (Book of Changes) study companion and a private decision-reflection journal for the long term. One reading, one question, one reflection a day. Whether the uncertainty concerns work, family, relationships, education, or what comes next, Yi helps you see the situation clearly and make a decision that is truly your own. It does not predict outcomes or decide for you. It helps you clarify one real question, record your reflection, and later revisit why you chose as you did.

READ THE CLASSIC
• Browse and study all 64 hexagrams in the Read tab.
• Each hexagram includes verbatim source text from the authoritative Zhonghua Book Company edition of the Zhouyi, a readable guide, and commentary from multiple classical schools with citations.

REFLECT, DON'T PREDICT
• Clarify a real question, read a reflective interpretation, and save your thoughts.
• Review past entries to notice your own patterns. Yi supports reflection; it does not make decisions for you.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Study assistance runs entirely on your device. Your questions are not sent to a cloud model.
• Optional sync between your devices is end-to-end encrypted. The service cannot read synced content.
• Export or permanently delete your data at any time.

FOR LEARNERS

Yi 1.7.4 makes content discovery calmer and more explicit. Read, Stories, and Observe now open with coordinated visual banners while preserving clear headings and readable layouts. Yi 1.7.1 makes the classical text easier to read and each reflection easier to act on. Hexagram and Image passages now carry a “terms in this passage” row: twenty-eight words, among them yuan, heng, li, and zhen, open into a plain-language definition with its classical source, and the Read tab adds the full glossary. A reading now opens with one line naming the situation the hexagram describes, followed by “things to check first” — and any item can be written straight into your next step. The ask flow offers a quick or a full rhythm, and the home screen keeps a single next thing: a review that has come due, the reading you were in, or today's passage. Yi 1.6.0 renames the Practice tab to Observe and rebuilds it around one card per section: today's image, today's archetype, and the phone compass each open with a single tap. The home screen adds an Observe shortcut beside the seal, so you can look at something before deciding what to ask. The date on the home screen now also shows the current pentad of the solar term, which changes every five days. Yi 1.5.2 brings a clearer study library. The Read tab now gathers the I Ching and other classical texts available in your region, with a daily passage for each collection.
