Well designed Minamalist Journal

Updated review (7/29/27):
You’ve implemented quite a few of my suggestions. Thank you.

The app is progressing swiftly with each new update.

I have a few more detailed suggestions.

I love the addition of voice notes. Any way you can add an option to transcribe the recording and place in the entry text as well?

I like the checkbox and list function. Be nice if we could drag and drop to rearrange them.

Appreciate the new tag feature, but it operates like separate journals which is great. But shouldn’t it be titled Journal or Notebook, not tags? When I think of tags I think of being able to add multiple tags to an entry. My suggestion is to enable multiple tags either by integrating current tag feature and letting us group entries into multiple tags), or rename tags to Journal or Notebook and have a separate function for adding traditional tags (or hashtags) to allow multiple tags for each entry and be able to filter entries by them.

Be able to add a custom image cover for “tags” (journals) like you can on the default page and/or allow random images to be displayed from the same “tags” (also like the default main page cover option in settings).

Appreciate the new option to type entries in full screen view. Be nice if full screen editing in entry notes / comments was also an option. As I type this in a note the text gets hidden at the bottom the longer the note becomes and can’t see what I’m typing. Suggest a button to option the note in full screen or a setting.

Double tap to edit an entry instead of having to first use the entry menu to start editing — to speed up the process.

Be able to add file attachments (for example be useful for attaching voice memos from other apps I’ve created them in) to new journal entries.

[Amended from initial suggestion] Swipe left or right to quickly turn the pages between entries by creation date. And when filtering by tag / journal just the entries inside that tag / journal. The top left arrow still could navigate us back to the main page or specific tag / journal we are viewing.

[Amended from initial suggestion] Link attachments — with preview of the web page, to allow an even more versatile space for adding and collecting website references for our entries.

Some soft colorful themes to choose from for editing our entries. Perhaps a separate theme could be set per tag / journal and one for the default UI that applies to all tags unless they have their own theme color set. Ideally the option to allow users to select their own custom theme color would be a nice touch too.

You are doing an amazing job making improvements to the app at a steady pace which shows you obviously care a lot about this app. Keep up the great work and thank you.
