I have made comments to the administration and they effectively shrug their collective shoulders. The problem is as others have stated - the screen goes blank and freezes and the only way to continue is to delete the app and reload it. Unfortunately, there is no way to register for classes. This problem has occurred on a 6s and SE (lll). ### 1/5 — What's going on? *2023-07-10* My Y app was working fine. Now I'm only getting blank screens like others have said.. I cannot access the Pleasant Hill facility to make a reservation on my iPhone app. It is useless and because of the 24 hr reservation I am unable to reserve a place in thewater aerobic s the only way I can possibly get in is to use my phone. The person at the desk cannot make a reservation class. This is ridiculous. I am rethinking mymembership since My leg was fractured I need the therapy and zi am constamtly frustrated. I would suggest only pool users be anle to use the nearby lot since they have to travel in wet bathing suits. Also no handicap spaces arefound there Last week I had to park in back and traverse around to the front gate with my walker and then return the same way in my wet suit. Not a problem unless you are 85 and have a broken leg but trying to regain mobility. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The App isn’t worth having if it’s consistently glitched *2024-11-29* Just joined the Pleasant Hill Y.. Downloaded the app for ease of scheduling. The problem is, it doesn’t work. Blank white screen is a bummer. I can only use it once before getting a white screen. I would not use it if it were not required for registering for classes. Given the longevity of this problem it is clear that the administration of the east bay Y only cares about collecting dues and doesn’t care about providing the services that those dues pay for. ### 1/5 — Blank screen …again and again and again and again *2024-02-14* It is clear that opening the app to a blank screen is a continuing problem. How about someone in the Y administration get off their overpaid (SF administrative director makes ~$200k per year) behinds and get the problem fixed! ### 1/5 — Does the YMCA pay attention to the comments on this app? *2024-01-26* I have lost track of the number of times I have delated and reloaded this app. Touching “Done” often leads to blank screen and a non-functional app. The calendar often does not show the number of registrants for courses, refreshes moves to the next week. This problem has gone on for more than a year with no apparent response from. The “Y” should hire one of its teenage members to fix the app. ### 1/5 — Useless after a few uses *2023-12-27* When I tried to add a class to my schedule, it just crashed. Every. Single. Time. Gave up on that feature. Then I tried out some filters when searching for specific classes at the Oakland location but it showed no results so I went back to ANY classes at ANY time, etc, but then nothing. Period. Ever. Anywhere. It now says that there are no classes on any dates at any East Bay location. I can’t use the app at all anymore! ### 1/5 — App Can’t Cancel a Class *2023-11-10* Without a cancellation option in the app, this app does not provide a fully functional registration process as it forces the user to use two systems, the app (to register) and their email (to cancel). The process is: Registration: This app is encouraged for registration and it works adequately for this purpose (although on my screen the app’s text is extremely small, with no option to enlarge — I don’t experience this with other apps). Cancellation: At one point I needed to cancel a class and realized I could not do so from the app. After explaining my challenge to the YMCA front desk staff, I learned the app can’t cancel classes. The way to cancel a class is to locate the confirmation email sent at the time I registered. At the bottom of that email is a link to cancel a class. It would be a much better user experience if the app allowed users to input both class registrations and cancellations rather than having to go to an email to cancel a class. ### 1/5 — Add to Calendar Causes Crash *2023-11-07* The app worked fine on my iPhone until a few days ago when it started either crashing (when set to allow full access to calendar) or doing nothing (when calendar access set to event only). I also have this app on my IPad, and it always crashes when you select add to calendar regardless of the access setting. Assuming this issue is ever fixed, it would be nice to be able to add classes as a series instead of one at a time. ## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Very glitchy app *2024-05-20* Sometimes it works and sometimes it makes you want to curl up into a fetal position ### 3/5 — It works, but….. *2022-04-05* After I schedule a swim session I tap “Add to calendar” and it crashes. I also frequently see a blank screen which does not respond to any action. App Support takes me to a site which seems irrelevant. ### 2/5 — Class cancelled unable to open app *2025-01-20* Use the app they said. It lists classes cancelled so we don’t need to post a sign they said. Well the app opens on a white screen with three dots like someone is typing but won’t open on to content even wit cellular allowed ### 2/5 — Can you fix this app? *2024-09-18* When it works, it’s a great convenience to check the class schedules, but this app has frequent glitches. I often open it and just get a white screen.
