The old app was so much easier to use and much more functionality. I hate that it doesn’t save my settings when it logs me out and that I have to go into each class to see who is teaching. Then many times when I go back out, it wipes out one of the filters, so I have to turn it back on. It’s so frustrating. It always says there was a loading error. Very annoying. This is a result of YMCA not having the experienced leaders in IT to manage and deploy technology to customers and staff. Everytime I go to the YMCA, I can stand near the front desk and hear a complaint within 2 minutes about this app. Technology is not suppose to hinder or get in the way of the business! I provided my resume and services to the YMCA, but they dont seem too worried about how this app has a 1-star review. That equates to member dissatisfaction. It logs you out, forgets credentials, 2 minutes to load and a host of other issues. This review wont be read by the YMCA, but the developer that creates the app. I went back to the paper schedules and plastic keychain due to my frustration. ### 1/5 — No me funciona *2024-12-03, version 13.0.19* No me abre la pagina después de meter la contraseña ### 1/5 — Log in failure *2024-11-28, version 13.0.19* It doesn’t keep your Apple wallet sign in on the wallet and it makes you resign in over and over. Doesn’t even remember your Face ID or preferences when you do sign in. I wish you would go back to the old one. It at least worked right. If there was an option for 0 stars I would have chosen that. ### 1/5 — Way worse than old YMCA app! *2024-11-06, version 13.0.19* It’s so much worse than the old app … why did they get a new one? ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-10-28* So the Y tells us to upload the new Y app because they’re shutting down the old app. So I upload Y pulse and I can’t look up anything on it… no classes available to see, no names of classes or teachers…. Nothing. Please don’t ask people to stop using their current app if the new app can’t be used because of all the glitches…. That’s just common sense. ### 1/5 — Horrible to use *2024-10-24, version 13.0.17* I can’t search by class. It keeps logging me out and saying my password or login is incorrect. The front desk has to keep fixing it on there and even though I’m using the correct login. People have stopping going to classes that are a sign up because they can’t get logging in and attendance has dropped noticeably in these classes. By daughter works here and can’t see how many people had signed up for aquatics classes and she hates trying to use it. The previous app was much more user friendly and searching for classes by the class type was way easier. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-10-08, version 13.0.16* This app is slow and freezes all the time. I was forced to switch to this app at my local YMCA. Can’t even login *2025-05-07, version 13.1.6* After reading other reviews, I didn’t even want the app to start with. Unfortunately, the old app the Y had stopped working. All it would do is refer me to a new app. First issue - The new app it linked me to wasn’t even the right one. It was egym. Second, I can’t login. When I click ‘forgot my password,’ all it does is go back to the Home Screen. They don’t even have the city right for my home Y. Completely useless. Now every time I go to the Y, I have to give my phone number to the person at the front desk to get checked in. ### 1/5 — 10 steps back. *2025-04-04, version 13.1.6* Old app was way better. Now we need two apps for the Y and EGym. Can’t use my Apple Watch to get into the Y, need to dig my iPhone out. I can add app to wallet, but it doesn’t show up on Apple Watch. It’s a glorified version of their website, which isn’t great. I used to be able to see workout logs, rankings among other members, and eGym information in the old app. This new version is not worth keeping on my device. ## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Basic functionality. Good but not great. *2025-02-09, version 13.0.22* The app works for me but only offers basic functionality. Two things that would make it much better: 1) ability to send a class reservation to my phone’s calendar, 2) location-aware membership card in the Apple Wallet so it is ready when I approach the building. ### 2/5 — Missing from app *2024-10-30, version 13.0.19* I understand that this is a new app, but you need to keep the old functionality. Before when I signed up for a class I was provided the option to add the appointment to my calendar. That is now missing.
