### 5/5 — The best

*2026-08-24, version 26.31*

YNAB has been an app me and my family have been using for probably close to a decade. It allows us to be in control and get ahead.

### 3/5 — Latest update backslides

*2026-08-23, version 26.31*

It’s really less useful at a glance now.

### 5/5 — Great budget!

*2026-08-23, version 26.31*

Finally seeing my savings grow after being stuck at 9K/10K for a few years. After 1 year of daily use and mastery, I’ve increased my savings from 10K to 22K (increase would be only maybe to 18K without job promotion/income increase). There is a learning curve, but the early effort put in is worth it. Would highly recommend!

### 2/5 — The 2 star rating is for the app

*2026-08-22, version 26.31*

Tired of the majority awful and unnecessary UI updates

### 1/5 — Too Complicated

*2026-08-22, version 26.31*

Too much extra bull.

### 5/5 — Very useful for keeping track

*2026-08-22, version 26.31*

Used it for theee years and love it.

### 2/5 — The perfect app is being butchered

*2026-08-21, version 26.31*

I don’t mind the price rises - but the most recent change is absolutely horrendous. I’ve had the app for the best part of 8 years or so and the most recent UI and UX update is torture. Progress bars gone.

You can no longer see how much you’ve added to a category this month without clicking into it. What on earth?

Reddit says it’s some A/B testing nonsense. Well I’m in the B for Bad.

Change it back. Please. Or at least give the option to. The app was so good I’d literally pay extra to go back to the previous iteration. That’s how bad the new update is.

Which is a shame, the the app and concept itself was wonderful.

### 1/5 — No la supe manejar

*2026-08-21, version 26.30*

No me gustó, tengo pagos semanales y eso de andar asignando dinero a más de 15 cosas por semana es tedioso.

### 2/5 — Frustrating update

*2026-08-20, version 26.30*

New update is really frustrating. I can no longer see what I’ve spent in each category without additional work that’s not user friendly. It’s frustrating to see $0 in my plan or available to spend, but I want to see what my spend has been without having to act like I’m assigning funds. This feature being removed will likely make me look for a new product.

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2026-08-20, version 26.30*

I thought folks were exaggerating about how helpful this app is. But honestly it’s really improved my relationship with money so much.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 26.32 — 2026-08-27

Life is short, spend it well. Here’s how we’re helping you this week:
• Auto-categorization is now smarter! A single, one-off recategorization won’t change a payee’s usual category. Instead, the default category will only change when 2 of the 3 most recent transactions agree on a different category.

### 26.31 — 2026-08-21

Life is short, spend it well. Here's how we're helping you this week:
• Credit card payments now match to the correct card, even if your bank refers lovingly to all of them as AUTO-PAY THANK YOU.
• We fixed  a bug so that the  credit card setup tutorial is just as easy to read when using zoom for accessibility.

### 26.30 — 2026-08-12

Life is short, spend it well. Here's how we're helping you this week:

- Share your referral link with a QR code! Pull it up in the Share Hub and let a friend scan it, no copying and pasting, or even contact info, required.
- Tapping to change a transaction’s category no longer auto-opens the search field and keypad, so you can scroll and browse your categories before deciding if search is necessary.
- Hit a net worth milestone? Tap the new Share Your Progress button in your Net Worth chart on the Reflect tab to download a shareable image and celebrate your win with your community.
- Mobile now respects your payee's categorization settings. If you've turned off auto-categorization for a payee or set a default category on the web, mobile will follow those rules, too.

### 26.28 — 2026-07-29

Life is short, spend it well. Here’s how we’re helping you this week:
• We fixed a bug so that Hide Amounts, when enabled from the Share & Earn hub, successfully hides all of your numbers.
• Want to show off where you bought your trinkets without revealing how much you spent on them (a very reasonable amount, we’re sure!)? You can now access all tabs while using Hide Amounts, including Spending and Accounts.

### 26.27 — 2026-07-22

We’ve squashed some bugs and made a few improvements to make it easier than ever to get good at money. Notably:
• After credit card spending, a new prompt can help you understand how that spending connects to your credit card payment category.
• When an imported transaction matches one you’ve already entered, it now comes pre-approved, because you’ve already made every important decision.
