## What is YomiStudy?

YomiStudy is a Japanese reading companion built for language learners.

Browse any Japanese website. Tap any kanji to instantly see:
• Furigana (the hiragana reading)
• Definition from the system Japanese dictionary
• On-device translation into your language
• High-quality text-to-speech (Kyoko voice)

NEW: Photo OCR
Recognize Japanese text from your camera or photo library and read it with furigana:
• Photo mode — furigana laid directly over the kanji in your image
• Reader mode — recognized text rendered as a clean Reader page with the same tap-to-translate / dictionary / save-word actions
• Save a scan and reopen it later in either Photo or Reader mode
Note: vertical (tategaki) text isn't supported — Apple Vision's vertical OCR isn't reliable enough.

Reader Mode strips ads and clutter from articles and annotates every kanji with furigana inline above the characters — perfect for long-form reading practice.

Bookmark words you want to remember. The built-in flashcard quiz with spaced-repetition scheduling helps them stick. Save articles for offline reading so you can study on the train or on a flight.
