It's just so soothing and calm and it puts me right to sleep. I love the sleep timer option so that I don't waste my battery life. The scenery is just so beautiful. It is visually appealing and it sounds are wry realistic to Japan. I love to fall to sleep with it and relax with it often. It is one of my favourite apps. If you like traditional ryokans and you love nature and the sounds of the country side this is a wonderful app and I would suggest it to you, it's totally worth the money too. It is very peaceful! They have sounds for different seasons (the summer seriously takes me back to when i stayed in the Japanese countryside for 3 months) the clinking of iced tea, wind chime, running water and different creatures per seasons. i really love it. All you do is customise its appearance from a wide range of options, then look at it. I find its simplicity and the attractiveness of the images very soothing; it's almost like meditation to look at the screen. I use it surprisingly often, particularly if I'm worried about something. The only other features I would like to see would be a choice of different gardens in the background, rather than just the same garden at different times - for example, a more minimalist garden would be a nice change - and the ability to take out the basic sound track while still leaving extra sounds on, so that one could have a winter garden without the sound of running water. I found the sounds quite soothing. However since iOS 8 came out, the app no longer will keep running in the background. It runs for about a minute, then the sounds stop. No crashes, no other issues, the sounds just stop.
