Explore and learn the language and culture of the Yorta Yorta people anywhere in the world, for free!

This resource has been updated by Roxanne Atkinson and the Yorta Yorta community in collaboration with the WCC Language Program. Building on the recorded content of version 1.0 by Sharon Atkinson and based on the Yorta Yorta community resource Lotjpa Yapaneyepuk (speak together).

All information will remain the property of the Yorta Yorta people.  Art and all language content spoken by Roxanne Atkinson - new content and speakers coming soon.

I love this app. What a fabulous tool for everyone to learn this beautiful and ancient language! I notice the word “angin” appears for air, ashes and a woman’s bag but some of the recordings are different words? I would love to see this app evolve and grow with more information about forming sentence structures, more explanations for example why there are so many words for aunt and as many more words as possible. Im so so glad this exists and I wish there were more of Australia’s languages available to learn.
