### 2/5 — Still receive spam calls

*2026-09-02, version 9.7.1*

I still receive spam calls. They try to get you to purchase a plan with them so I’m guessing they still allow a few through for that purpose. I’m pretty sure you can just find out how/where your number has been leaked and fix spam calls that way; I think I’ll do that.

### 3/5 — Good app, was better, pro version is expensive, won’t renew unless they fix things

*2026-08-30, version 9.7.1*

I’ve been using YouMail for a number of years now, and I use the professional version first tier, and for the most part it’s pretty good. I was able to obtain a local number for the forwarding number, and so I can use my Youmail account for my landline as well, and I don’t incur long distance charges. However as it is based out of the US, unless one has unlimited US calling, every time one’s phone forwards to voicemail one will incur a long distance charge, and if one calls in using the access number to listen to one’s voicemail, one will incur a long distance charge. I don’t think they will offer a local access number for one’s calling area for the free version.

I am not a fan of the new layout of the app. It is confusing. Now there are two main tabs, Voicemails and Calls. Why? Isn’t every entry in the app a “call”? not liking the app much now, besides, as a blind user, I use Voiceover, and now I cannot click on a “Call” or “voicemail”, and listen to it on the app. it will not play it at all. I can move or delete or block, but listen? Not working! Super annoying, please fix this! I need to call in using the Voicemail Access Number to listen to the voicemail.

### 2/5 — Spam Calls Continue

*2026-08-24, version 9.7.0*

I initially signed up for paid services to help ease spam calls. 3 months later and the spam calls are just as bad. I wish there were an option through YM to stop the incoming call before the phone rings. Maybe YM works better for businesses but I believe the best option is to block all unknown callers in phone settings.

### 3/5 — Not 100% Effective

*2026-08-17, version 9.7.0*

Every now and then calls are going to my factory voicemail. I have made any changes for it to not work properly. I’m too the point of removing this app.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t actually stop spam calls

*2026-07-14, version 9.6.1*

I’m still getting just as many spam calls. The only way it will stop them is if you set it to block calls that aren’t in your contacts. You can do that through the iPhone settings, you don’t need the app for that. The only thing useful to me is the feature that removes you from data broker websites.

### 3/5 — Voicemail

*2026-06-24, version 9.6.1*

My voicemails have started going to my factory voicemail instead of YouMail. This is happening quite often now and I’m seriously thinking about deleting your app. Fix it or I will!

### 5/5 — Beat the Scammers

*2026-06-19, version 9.6.0*

wow! I didn’t realize how many calls I was not answering or hanging up on every day until all of them in a row before I went to bed the first night I had used YouMail! I called back several of the numbers on that list and they led to nonexistent phones. I hit the button for “ delete and report Spam “ after each one. I’m so glad that now I have something to deal with this irritating problem on my behalf. Life is going to be so much more convenient when I don’t have to deal with Spam.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-06-18, version 9.6.0*

I went from getting endless amounts of calls everyday to nothing except for what I allowed. It is such a stress relief for me and I recommend it to people all the time.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2026-06-16, version 9.6.0*

Loving all the features YouMail provides 🤩

### 1/5 — Sneaky deceptive

*2026-06-10, version 9.6.0*

When I signed up, was told I would receive notification when trial period was up to prevent billing. Didn’t hear anything and was charged!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Getting spam calls all day long

*2026-08-31, version 9.7.1*

Over and over. No “help” section provided to troubleshoot.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-08-22, version 9.7.0*

I’ve been getting at least two or three spam calls a day. YouMail has failed to block a single one so far.

### 1/5 — Glitchy and Crashes

*2026-08-01, version 9.6.1*

The app used to be awesome, but on older iPhone models it is glitchy and crashes constantly. It is virtually unusable for me. And I don’t think I should upgrade my phone to use this one app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t block spam calls

*2026-07-30, version 9.6.1*

I thought this app blocked spam calls coming into my iPhone but I was mistaken spam call still come through I’m kind of curious as to why my iPhone knows that it’s a spam call but this app does not recognize that it’s a spam call like it’s supposed to very confused may look into another app to see if it’s any better at doing the job it’s supposed to.

### 1/5 — Scammer

*2026-07-26, version 9.6.1*

I signed up for the free trial and they charged me for a year

### 1/5 — Hard to stop services

*2026-07-25, version 9.6.1*

A lot of my calls that I needed were getting blocked and so I deleted the app, but they kept blocking my calls. I deleted my account account, but apparently missed a step and so I now have to figure out how to delete it. In the end, it was a very annoying app.

### 1/5 — Voicemail issues.

*2026-07-21, version 9.6.1*

Some of my voicemails are reverting back to the factory voicemail. I have chatted and called. When calling no one will answer the phone! And no resolution to this matter to the point of deleting this app if issues aren’t fixed ASAP!

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-07-03, version 9.6.1*

I signed up for the 7 day free trial. I cancelled the next day. They confirmed via email that the cancellation went through and I wouldn’t be charged. I was charged nearly $80 and had to dispute the charge through my credit card company.

### 1/5 — Bad , sorry

*2026-06-24, version 9.6.1*

This app is no different than other spam blocking apps. On the free tier they block nothing , but they always try to upsell you .

### 1/5 — Zero Stars

*2026-06-16, version 9.6.0*

So there is the free version, the plus version, then the max version… It’s not clear what features each version gets. I know the most expensive one you can have a second line… another you can play “out of service” recordings to scammers… one supposedly removes your information from data brokers… This last one, when I entered my name it came up with 368 results, only 2 of which were actually me when I checked manually… Their upgrade tactics feel scammy/spammy to me which is strange since this is a company who says it’s here to protect you from scams and spams.

Update; Found another payment level called “essential” seriously YouMail what data mining spam company did the person you hire for designing your upgrade strategy come from?

Update 2: Their response tells me exactly the kind of company they are. They have multiple tiers of upgrades and constant reminds to upgrade. Some things are included, some not, some not clear. Now if they said “thanks for letting us know our app *feels* scammy” I’d probably let it go… may even subscribe instead I’m uninstalling.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!

*2026-07-04, version 9.6.1*

YouMail is an outstanding service and one of the best apps I’ve used. Friends and callers frequently comment on my personalized greetings, and everyone seems to love them!

The spam-blocking features work exceptionally well. My phone now filters out most unwanted and scam calls, which has drastically reduced the number of fake calls I receive.

Thank you, YouMail team, for providing such a reliable and effective service!

### 5/5 — Worth the money

*2026-06-27, version 9.6.1*

I’m pretty sure that if you are reading this review, you are getting hit with spam calls from everywhere. I was getting between 40 and 50 calls a day.
I saw someone mention this app and I downloaded it.
It does an amazing job of stopping spam calls in their tracks. When the call comes through, it has to go through screening. If it doesn’t pass the screening test, it’s blocked.
I went from almost 50 spam calls a day to now only having about four or five that try and call and those calls are always blocked. Actual business calls for myself can come through with no problems instead of me ignoring them because I think they’re spam.
It’s honestly worth every cent that I have paid.

### 5/5 — The best

*2026-06-24, version 9.6.1*

Recover everything, get YouMail!

### 5/5 — IT WORKS 100%

*2026-06-20, version 9.6.0*

THANKS 😊 FOR BEING A WONDERFUL APP! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
