It looked promising because of the good reviews and the first screenshot advertises you can choose your allergies! However you can only choose from the most common ones (peanut, tree nut, egg, shellfish, etc) and you can only add five “very disliked” foods. I have over 20 uncommon food allergies to common ingredients such as carrots, potatoes, chicken/beef, etc... and my feed is mostly foods I put I very disliked. I assume it’s like this to get you to try to like these foods with good recipes but I need to avoid these foods. I wonder if the developers can add custom foods to the allergen list or an unlimited amount of foods disliked and actually filter the lists so recipes show up without those items. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Why do I have to create an account? *2017-10-28, version 5.1.3* App requires signing up for an account. I'm not giving personal info when I haven't even seen what the app is like. **Developer response:** Hi Thunderpaw, When installing for the first time the application, you will have an on boarding process with different screens. If you swipe to the right about 5 times, you will have a preview of what the app looks like. We hoped this preview will be enough for you to join Youmiam for good! ### 1/5 — Reviewing under protest. *2017-03-05, version 4.12.0* I have not even tried this App yet, but as part of initializing the settings, users are forced to give an App Store rating. I haven't even had the opportunity to review the program yet! **Developer response:** Hi, Indeed, there was a issue about this pop up rating. We are really sorry about that but the issue is now resolved. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2015-09-26, version 2.5.1* Constant crashes. Couldn't pull up one recipe. **Developer response:** Hi Jules, The app has improved a lot since your last review. We invite you to test the app one more time and we will be pleased to have a new feedback from you. ### 2/5 — Needs social aspect *2017-12-26, version 5.4* App needs an option to search for users by name, an option to follow Facebook or Instagram friends, and an option to invite by text, email, Instagram, or Facebook. **Developer response:** Hi, You already can search users by name in the search area and you already can invite your friends by tapping the person icon displayed on the search bar. But indeed we planned to improve the functionality to invite friends, to reward people and to add the options to follow Facebook or Instagram friends. I was looking for an app that would give me recipes I could cook at home. This app did that with flying colors. It’s pretty, very easy to use, and has social and educational aspects. Definitely a keeper! Also, you can take photos of your food! Which I find to be very motivating to cook.
