## What is Your Life Weekly?

You get about four thousand weeks. This is all of them on one screen.

Every square is one week of your life. The ones behind you are filled in, colored by what you were doing at the time. The one you are in right now is marked. Everything after it is empty and waiting.

Your Life Weekly is not a productivity app. Nothing in it will make you faster. It's an instrument for one measurement: how much of your life has gone, how much is left. And it's unsentimental about the answer.

The Canvas

Your whole life as a grid, at three different ranges.

"Decades" gives you eight tiles and an argument: what your twenties actually were, what your thirties are turning into.

"Years" is a wall. Every week you will ever get, one row per year, with this week lit.

"Weeks" is close enough to read. Fifty-two numbered squares, everything you filed against them printed underneath, and every year of your life stacked behind it — flip back through them one at a time.

Pinch to move between the three.

The Log

Chapters, memories and goals, filed by date. A chapter is a stretch of your life with a name: a school, a job, a city, an illness, a marriage. A memory is a single week worth keeping. A goal is a week you are aiming at. Sixteen categories across six domains — learning, work, people, place, body, making — and the grid colors itself from what you put in.

Figures

Days lived. Weeks remaining. Percentage spent. How full each decade of your life has been, drawn as a bar chart of your own record. The numbers are not encouraging and they are not meant to be.

The Almanac

Two hundred and five passages on time, mortality and how to spend the former — Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Annie Dillard, Mary Oliver and others — each with a short reading of what it is actually saying. Filter by author, save the ones that land, share them as a card.

Also in the App

· Over 500 historical events laid against your own weeks, so you can see what the world was doing while you were nine
· A weekly reflection reminder, on the evening you choose, to record the week before it goes
· Your Year, Wrapped: an annual and per-decade account of what you filed
· Export a printable grid to hang on a wall
· Import your existing records from CSV, and export everything back out whenever you like
· Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, so the count is there without opening anything
· iPhone and iPad

What's it cost

Everything that measures your life is free. No ads, no subscription, no feature that stops working after a trial. One optional purchase — once, not monthly — unlocks widgets, alternate app icons and a public profile, and funds an independent developer.

Privacy

Your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it. You can export all of it, in a format you can open and read yourself.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8 — 2026-08-11

Version 1.8 is a complete redrawing of the app, almost every screen has changed.

Three ways to read your life:

The old zoom control gave you five sizes of the same wall. It has been replaced by three genuinely different drawings: DECADES, where a decade is a tile that reports what it held; YEARS, the full wall with this week lit; and WEEKS, close enough to read a number off. Pinch anywhere on the canvas to move between them.

Flip back through the years:

The WEEKS view used to show a single year with no way back to the one before it. Every year of your life is now stacked behind it. Flick down and it clicks onto last year, and the one before that, and keeps going. A tap on the marker in the corner brings you back to now.

A new setting:

New palette, new legend that explains what the six colors mean, and a running readout along the bottom that always tells you which week you are in.

SMALLER THINGS

· Pinch to change range now works everywhere on the canvas
· The current week is easier to find on the full wall
· Reduce Motion is respected throughout
· Sound effects, and a switch to turn them off
· Per-memory colours
· Faster scrolling on the full grid

### 1.6 — 2026-04-09

Sound effects are here. Subtle audio cues accompany taps, page turns, and saves. Toggle them in Settings any time.

Pinch-to-zoom in the grid now keeps the week you're pinching right where it was. No more losing your place when you switch between year, decade, and life views.

Two new widgets:
- Compact Grid — a tighter life-at-a-glance square for your home screen
- Quick Memory — tap to add a memory without opening the app

The Add Chapter screen got a refresh. Categories are now shown as cards with short descriptions, so picking the right one is a glance instead of a guess.

Memory dates now read the way you'd say them out loud: "Wednesday, January 23rd, 2026" — across Timeline and the snapshot view.

Plus: faster, more reliable printable grid and poster exports, and a handful of quality-of-life fixes.

Thanks for counting your weeks with us! - Jason
