I tried to sign up with my email. No dice. I used Sign In with Apple and no good there. I verified my email no program, but there is no way for them to SMS you a code so you can never create an account. They can't SMS a NZ number, nor a US number. I didn't want to take the train to the airport but that's my only option. Way to go Auckland Counsel! ### 2/5 — Fine when it works *2025-07-25, version 6.5.0* I have been pre booking cabs using this app for 3 weeks for a time critical appointment. Twice the cab just hasn’t turned up which has been crazy stressful. Can’t even log in. Uninstalling. ### 1/5 — Worst experience ever *2025-04-28, version 6.3.3* Pre-booked a ride to airport 2 days before my travel date. Ride was accepted. The ride was booked for 5:45am in the morning. Around 5:40am, got a notification saying ride has been cancelled. No details nothing!!!! I was supposed to get a flight at 7am and there was no one i could call as it was too early in the morning and close to my departure time (Luckily I got a taxi on the road which helped me get the flight, otherwise I would have went on to sue the company). So please never ever book your ride through this app. Never!!! Especially if it’s really important. ### 1/5 — Ride Cancelled *2025-03-23, version 6.3.3* Downloaded the app and tried to book for the first time, looked successful and then 5 minutes before pickup I opened the app and the ride had been cancelled with no explanation ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-03-18, version 6.3.3* App is very buggy. Keeps telling me I can’t sign up because I’m not in Nz?!?! Then it won’t let me load my credit card. Back to uber for me. ### 1/5 — Zoomy used to be a good app *2025-03-13, version 6.3.3* Not worth waiting for someone to accept your ride because they will eventually cancel on you after a few minutes doesn’t waste your time, use Uber more reliable ### 1/5 — Pricing is not transparent *2025-03-10, version 6.3.3* Had a ride, estimated cost of $34-38 and got charged over $40. I can’t trust the pricing of this and will be going back to Uber. I was also given a $10 voucher by a driver, but it turns out this is $2 off 5 rides. Terrible. It’s a joke. Happens every time. Why bother have an app if your drivers are lazy? ### 1/5 — Deleted app *2024-12-26, version 6.3.1* No information in the app on how to schedule a ride, and I didn’t want to accidentally order a cab by going to the next option. ### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work *2024-11-26, version 6.3.1* I can’t log on or create an account no matter how I approach whether it’s Apple ID, Google Account, Phone Number I just get an error useless Uber is far easier ### 1/5 — Invalid number *2024-11-22, version 6.3.1* Unable to sign up due to my number being invalid. Tried to ask my friends and family to sign up but their numbers are “invalid” too. ### 1/5 — Won’t accept Taxicharge voucher *2024-11-07, version 6.3.0* Useless. It won’t accept the single use Cab Charge vouchers even though they are TaxiCharge branded vouchers. And you cannot book unless you submit the payment details on the booking before you can confirm the request. So we cannot use the app at all - as we cannot use the voucher card that work issues us. Terribly frustrating and a complete waste of time to have an app that doesn’t allow payment to be presented in the taxi on arrival. ### 2/5 — Accessibility issues *2024-10-23, version 6.3.0* I downloaded the app to give it a go in the hope it would be faster than using the blue bubble ordinator system. I was able to download the app, sign in and register just fine but when it came to booking a taxi, it won’t let me select the destination and finish the booking process. I am a iPhone user and use a talking software called VoiceOver which as a blind person helps me navigate various apps. Given the majority of taxi users will have some form of disability, it would be nice if this app could work on improving it accessibility features. Had to call up Wellington taxis directly, luckily they were available and sent someone straight away. I really want to support local businesses but if you want reliability use Uber instead. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work for international travellers *2025-12-11, version 6.6.1* Beyond hopeless after more than a year this is still broken. The app won’t let you register with an overseas mobile number. It gives the error ‘you can’t register outside NZ’. Even though I’m in a Co-op taxi in Auckland when registering. Thankfully the old Co-op App still works. ### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work *2025-11-10, version 6.6.1* So I cannot order a cab via the app at my home. I am suburban but not central enough. So I have to call then pay with taxi card adding time at drop off. They can’t push it out to App to see when driver coming. So I have no idea how far they are. I also cannot prebook on the app either. Looked it up and the icon is not available for me. So again have to call. Uber so much easier. ### 1/5 — Ride cancelled *2025-08-13, version 6.5.1* Booked a ride for early morning to the airport. 5 mins before the taxi was due I checked the app and it showed the ride as cancelled. Not by me. Managed to call the taxi company and get another taxi in time to catch the flight. Very disappointed. First time use but 0 from 1. Won’t be using again. ### 1/5 — Cancels booked in advance taxis last minute *2025-08-09, version 6.5.1* I just ran for 45 minutes down a hill with two back packs and a laptop case at 6:50am because 10 minutes before pickup (7am), this service said they had no drivers and canceled my ride that I had booked days in advance. Clearly unreliable and untrustworthy. Will absolutely not recommend to others (which is a big loss of business as my mother, who I was visiting, has broken her arm and has half a dozen appointments over the next few weeks that would have been using taxis). I know the same drivers tend to drive for both companies so maybe I’ve just been lucky. I like that it’s a NZ company and the drivers receive a higher portion of the fare than Uber. I feel I was wronged because I was made late to my appointment and was charged an extra $5 just to sit in a car waiting for my driver to fill up his car. Zoomy hasn’t even acknowledged my email let alone remedied the situation ### 5/5 — Good but *2018-11-15* Love the service and the fact it is NZ owned. That said, the app needs to learn when to stop accessing the user’s location info. A good point to do that would be after a trip is finished.
