## Newest reviews (2 of 21)

### 3/5 — Definitely functional, but needs to catch up with the web version.

*2023-11-20, version 2023.3.4*

I wish it were as powerful as opening the browser version on Safari... Lacks a lot of the features present on the non-App Store version.

### 3/5 — Not there yet, unfortunately

*2020-01-24, version 2019.3.1*

Unfortunately it crashes all the time when looking at issue comments. Would have been great otherwise!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-02-05, version 2025.1.7*

First a demo project I don't want. Then after deleting everything in it, no way to remove the project. And then can't remove any filters. Can't login online because it tells me there's no account when there is. Completely worthless.

### 1/5 — Can’t attach a file on a long article

*2025-09-19, version 2025.1.4*

Keyboard doesn’t move down so can’t attach anything on mobile. Very limited and rubbish interface.

Edit: you can attach it now
but nothing happens when try to attach it. It doesn’t save. Broken mess.

### 1/5 — Can’t attach a file on a long article

*2025-09-01, version 2025.1.3*

Keyboard doesn’t move down so can’t attach anything on mobile. Very limited and rubbish interface

### 1/5 — Importing tasks nearly impossible

*2024-11-12, version 2024.3.1*

Not at all nimble or flexible for supporting modern workflows

### 1/5 — It's baaad so many features missing.

*2024-08-15, version 2024.1.4*

So many features and UX missing, I was going to give it a chance but there's too many things missing.
Don't make this available for MacOs because it's baaad.
Common scroll/drag doesn't work
Your links get hiijacked into the app and doesn't even work.
Board is missing information.

### 1/5 — Needs much improvement

*2018-03-11, version 2018.1*

Youtrack is a good product but I can't say the same for the mobile app, there's hardly any functionalities to match the site.

### 2/5 — Hard to use

*2025-04-20, version 2025.1.2*

I tried to add a saved search to favorites by putting a star on it. This had the effect of removing the saved search from the list, as if I had deleted it. Still can’t find where the “favorite” searches are hidden.

### 2/5 — Frustrating and Unreasonably Limited

*2022-07-12, version 2022.3.1*

I love JetBrains, and YouTrack on web is great, but this app feels like it was designed entirely on a whiteboard. Missing functionality (e.g. no dashboards, overly cumbersome to accomplish basic things like deleting issues) and missed opportunities (e.g. issue list has no swipe, no long-press commands, and no multi-select) make for a frustratingly tedious experience.

It has an entire view dedicated to Agile boards with “swimlanes” - at first it seems difficult to drag issues around, but there’s a zoom button that makes this much easier. (There should really be a mini-tutorial for this!) My biggest gripe however is that they didn’t include the backlog, and there’s no obvious way to move issues to the current sprint. Adding multi-select as I mentioned above would remedy this.

Every time you change a field, the app pauses while it syncs with the server. As a result, attempting to change a bunch of things in one go feels very tedious and slow. Things like pressing a tiny X to back out makes it that much harder.

Linking issues is missing parent-child link creation for some reason. It’s also the kind of thing I’d like to do at the issue-list level, not deep inside an individual issue’s top-right menu.

The devs desperately need to use this in a real world project and iterate on the functionality! I apologize if I’m mistaken on this presumption, but it truly feels that way to me right now.

I’m also trying this on iPhone 12, not iPad, so it could be that some functionality is hidden here. Even so, I think dashboards are super important on mobile, and should be available on both.

TL;DR: It’s not snappy, but you can probably use this app decently as a developer right now, whereas for project management I think it’s completely unusable. I’d be happy to update this review in response to improved functionality. Thanks.

### 2/5 — Please make this app better

*2020-06-02, version 2020.1.2*

I really want to like and use this app, but there are severe limitations and that push me back to using YouTrack through a browser. To be clear, I use this app on an iPad.
1. Why are none of the panels I created in the browser version for my dashboard available in the app? These are essentially predefined searches that show me at a glance the progress my team is making. Why do I need to recreate them again here?
2. On long tickets with many comments, screenshots, etc, this mobile app just falls flat. The media doesn't load right and the entirety of the ticket may or may not load at all.

### 3/5 — wish it was like the web app

*2025-07-18, version 2025.1.3*

unlike the web app the mobile and iPad app are poorly designed
some basic features like showing notifications numbers on the app icon doesn’t work (app notification is on from settings)
sine using the web app have no choice other than using it but hopefully will get better

### 5/5 — Wiki trouble

*2026-02-14, version 2025.1.7*

Cannot open / download files from wiki.

### 5/5 — Great update, performance issues addressed!

*2021-04-04*

Overall this new update is amazing. Works seamlessly now with a 2FA auth flow unlike before and the UI is clean and simple. The only downside is the performance. While switching between tabs I noticed that the app locks up with the agile board tab being by far the slowest and can sometimes lock up for up to a few seconds. Once this gets addressed this app is an easy 5 stars.

Edit: In the latest update the performance is much better! Nice work!

**Developer response:** twomedia, thank you! We will keep improving the performance.

### 5/5 — Best for project any size

*2020-08-19, version 2020.2.4*

It’s basically the best, I use it to manage my home projects and personal things.

You can run your own youtrack instances for free or use their hosting.

### 5/5 — Works good once I figured out what URL to enter

*2017-10-19, version 2017.3.1*

...

### 5/5 — Review

*2016-12-23, version 7.1.1*

One word.. Finally :-)

### 4/5 — Great app (boards in issue missing)

*2024-03-02, version 2023.3.4*

Brilliant app. Would love to be able to modify the “boards” within an issue.

Seems to be possible in web app but not mobile.

Other than that great.

### 4/5 — Finally

*2022-12-12, version 2022.5.2*

Finally an App I can use. I feel like this app is so great for my workflow because I don’t want to be on my computer all the time so this is a great substitute. I still think I can use some improvement but this app definitely doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting

### 4/5 — Unusable with internal CA issued TLS cert

*2019-02-23, version 2018.4*

The app just fails with a terrible error message “Network request failed” when YouTrack is using a TLS cert from an internal CA, despite that cert being loaded into iOS.

### 3/5 — Does not match the web version standard

*2025-07-11, version 2025.1.3*

The app has a long way to go to catch up with the awesome work being done on the web version of the service. It is clunky at best and recently throwing an error on opening.

Looking forward to having a functional app soon. In the meantime, I’m impressed with the web version and will continue to work there. The mobile app will be uninstalled in the meantime to prevent email notifications attempting to open the app.

Thank you for the great YouTrack web application!
