Don’t get me wrong the actual algorithms and content in YouTube music is good, the app however is awful. Can’t even use it on CarPlay do you don’t pay for full premium? Why? I have premium pure and apparently I still can’t use it at all other than podcasts. Downloads are horrible. I live in an area where service isn’t always guaranteed, and it’s always a pain to get this to play my download songs. Again, why? Fix it please ### 1/5 — ridiculously overheats phone *2026-08-23, version 9.33.6* About 2-3 months ago this app started cooking my phone - not every time i use it, maybe 1/3 times, but enough that it’s disruptive. I’m using an iphone 14 pro, ios 26.3.1, app version 9.33.3 (though it was doing this with older versions of the app too). It happens whether i’m using headphones (wired or bluetooth) or speakers, and both when connected to wifi and when playing downloaded songs offline. Maybe it happens more when listening to a downloaded song, but i couldn’t say that for sure. it cooks my phone to the point it’s uncomfortable to hold and drains my battery extraordinarily quickly. i commute a lot and primarily want music to listen to while offline so if this continues i’m likely going to cancel my subscription, as the app won’t do what i need it to. ### 2/5 — Nah *2026-08-23, version 9.33.6* U have to pay for the premium which will let u play the music when the screen turned off. It maybe something to do with the new Marshall Emberton III speaker, but Spotify free seems to be ok.
