You just get a white screen where the thumbnail goes. Given the time involved to develop and test software; I don't think it's an unreasonable amount to pay. YouWidget was released to the App Store at the end of January with my intention to offer it for free for the entirety of February. This has been the case and it is only recently that I have introduced a premium tier. You are still able to access a subset of the features in the free tier. :) ### 2/5 — I knew it.... *2021-02-28, version 1.0.3* .... still no update of the widget every 15 minute *, even after paying for the lifetime fee. It just says that I need to click to log in and when I click, it says that I’m already logged in. ### 1/5 — Not logging into my yt with a 3rd party app *2024-12-16, version 1.0.5* This app assumes you’re gonna login with your Google credentials. I don't even understand why you would have to login to track a channel subscriber account that doesn't seem accurate. But, that feature has worked on and off for some time now, but now it does not work at all. Very disappointing, gonna keep the app/widget for a bit longer and see if it gets fixed, but its been quite sometime that it hasn’t worked. Really useful to have my YouTube subscriptions on my Home Screen!” ### 3/5 — It’s okay *2022-12-17, version 1.0.5* I’m using the app (no premium) and it works okay. I really like the widget showing my recently uploaded videos. No issues displaying thumbnails on my end (yet). Two annoyances for me though: the statistics widget (the one showing subs, views, comments, etc.) has text too large to display on iPadOS, so the widget ends off leaving several digits cut off. Maybe add a medium sized widget for this too, considering that the only option currently is a cramped small widget. Also most iOS stock apps use background color #1C1C1E but this app uses a lighter shade. If this were able to list scheduled/upcoming streams from the channels I’m subscribed to I would absolutely pay for the subscription. ### 3/5 — When it works, it works well. *2021-04-12, version 1.0.3* Some widgets don’t have an image, while others show without an issue. A few days ago, rather than opening the YouTube app, it began opening Safari to show videos. Additionally, a video posted 19 hours ago, shows as 4 days ago in the widget. Not sure how the app is gathering its data, but there are clearly some gaps in the backend that need to be addressed.
