### 4/5 — Fun and unstable

*2023-02-09, version 1.6.1*

One of the better games I’ve enjoyed when the mobile game is stable. Most often though it is not stable and I am forced to reset the game. I’ve lost games because of the freezes many times over. More often if I do lose a game it is because of the freezes not because of loss of LP from another player. I gave four stars because I love the game, but have am so frustrated by the freezes.

### 4/5 — Review after playing a couple days

*2023-02-04, version 1.6.0*

I noticed how enjoyable this game was with the variety of game modes. One aspect of the game is what barley turns me away or at least step away from the game for a while, the fact that their is skill based matching is good but they need matching based on how many extra cards collected and stuff like that so I’m not going against people who have full buff slots when I have one slot. That’s the only downside to this game is how easy you can pay to win and stomp early game kids.(Me n my people)

### 4/5 — Review SOLID GAME (Needs more daily rewards)

*2022-11-07, version 1.3.0*

I normally don’t really write reviews but In hopes that this reaches the right places.
I’ve played the game since it launched, so far it’s a very solid game. I’m very happy with the gameplay and it looks really nice! Even if some of the voice acted animations are just copy pasted from duel links. That being said I do have one problem I suppose.
There are little to no daily rewards.
That’s my main complaint honestly otherwise I really enjoy the game and good job so far!!

### 4/5 — Fun but has issues

*2022-11-06, version 1.2.1*

I so far have liked this game, the game mechanics are fun and the 4 player system is unique. One issue I have come across is getting kicked from a match even when I have a very good connection or have waited for minutes for the “waiting for other players” notification to go away and continue the match. Really hope this is fixed.

### 4/5 — Great, needs improvements

*2022-11-03, version 1.2.1*

I LOVE the new format/concept, kudos to those behind the idea. It feels accessible - as of yet there’s not really an unbeatable/pervasive meta due to how it’s designed, no 20x moves like other versions.

Small gripes I have; KILLER on mobile device battery life. Would love to see that reduced or a PC port released in the near future.

Some aspects could do with more explanation, they bombard you with tutorials and new information to start, I personally lost/didn’t understand card trading and the medal shop for a couple of days till I stumbled on them.

Overall, very impressed with the execution, I started just the other week after how many months it’s been out and I can still land wins, unlike other formats that end up ‘locked up’ with pros and metas in the first few days. Way to go Konami!

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2022-10-04, version 1.2.0*

Promising mechanics, but it takes so frustratingly long to load between screens, even with all the special effects disabled. I have an iPhone 11, it’s not that old. Gameplay is also slow at times, with numerous periods of just waiting, and unfortunately this app doesn’t prevent automatic sleep from inactivity like most games do, so if you don’t remember to actively tap on the screen periodically, your device goes to sleep and you get disconnected. This is compounded by the terribly long time it takes to reconnect.

They really need to focus on improving performance to make loading/transitioning and reconnecting much quicker, and prevent automatic sleep at the very least!

### 3/5 — Fun, but you get targeted so easily

*2022-09-28, version 1.1.1*

I like the game everything’s well animated the cards make sense the idea for bonus effects on monster cards also a good idea, but when I get into a match 60% of my matches is me defending from everyone’s else’s attacks even though I’m not even the threat, I get targeted for no reason idk why and when you get target by everyone else you can do anything about cause you only get one card per turn and you have to get lucky enough to get the bonus card, so by the time your trying to defense against everyone else you can’t and you lose for not even trying to get an attack off even once.

### 4/5 — It’s good but it should be a little better?

*2022-09-28, version 1.1.1*

I had a lot fun with this game the Raid Battles are actually the best ones in my opinion and I do think the rewards are decent. But I do think it needs improved like switch life points to 8000 so it be much better or add more support for other card or just balance the game. Other and that it’s a solid game and it is already announced that Joey and Mai are coming and I really hope Megan voice Mai. Erica is an amazing actress but Megan really made the character so please Konami get Megan Hollingshead to do Mai but I wouldn’t mind Ms. Erica to voice her. And that’s all the end.

### 5/5 — Compared to the other yugioh games

*2022-09-21, version 1.1.1*

I like this one the most out of the bunch as it is too me much easier to understand and more simple. And i also like seeing the 3d models of the monsters which no other yugioh game does. 10/10 from me as of now

### 3/5 — Fun change to the standard game

*2022-09-21, version 1.1.1*

The upgrade is system for monster cards add a level of customization and strategy not seen in the standard game. The exclusion of a coop online team mode seems like an entirely missed opportunity. Cards require so many duplicates in order to unlock slots of abilities that it seems like a pipe dream, but you should keep in mind that almost all your monsters are only allowed 1 ability in ranked. The ur cards can have 3, but initially you do not need exact duplicates to unlock their slots.
Overall the game is off to a good start, but required more variety in cards and strategy to hold for very much longer. There is definitely a winning strategy that once you unlock all the parts too, becomes a game of who gets all the pieces together first to win.

### 5/5 — The Best Yu-Gi-Oh Game I EVER PLAYED!!

*2022-09-19, version 1.1.0*

If I had to give a solid review on a game such as Yu-Gi-Oh, I would say that Cross Duels is the BEST game EVER!! Not only is it different from the other main stream games, but it puts on a new spin of how to attack opponents and strategize. Other games would let you put multiple copies into a deck and that would just be the meta of things. But those who like to just use single cards (such as me) would LOVE this game! The game even has a single player, a co-op raid mode and regular ways of setting up duels to practice with friends on how strategies can work! The game can be a little unfair with the pay to win if people decide to earn extra cards for more monsters or trade in cards to unlock slots for them, it doesn’t matter if it is pay to win. The drawing system is a bit random as there is a pattern to how to get UR cards for your game. It may take a bit of practice and a trained eye, but I noticed that when drawing cards in the gotcha mode, the middle row would keep going as there was a pattern to memorize and try to tap the screen to perfectly hit on the UR card marker. Since Cross Duels was released, I been on this game EVERYDAY to grind for more gems and be able to roll for more cards. I can’t wait to see what else this game has in store!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wasted

*2023-08-12*

I could’ve sworn that I had written a review for this game upon its release but I guess not. Anyway, the glaring issues that were present then are still present but at this point in time I’m gonna say that it doesn’t matter. This game has such a decent amount of production value from the opening cinematic to the in game models of most of the monsters and the music. However, there is nothing…and I mean nothing about this game that would make anyone want to play it or keep playing it. You level your monsters through a gacha system and then can only set five skills from the nineteen that the monster has? You can call it strategic all you want but it’s antiquated and poorly designed. Truly this game’s time and resources could’ve been used to make Master Duel or Duel Links better games instead of being wasted on this failed endeavor. A complete and utter shame.

### 1/5 — Pay to win trash

*2022-09-07, version 1.1.0*

One of the few Yugioh games where you can do 5 Multies for cards and then proceed to do nothing because you can literally do nothing. Played a couple of ranked matches and what a surprise to see at least 2 guys with more than 1 UR in each match. You will then lose because you get nothing if you come last and there is absolutely no Incentive to attack the winning guy or for them to attack each other since even if you’re third, you get rank points.

### 2/5 — A rip off

*2023-03-11*

I’ve been playing cross duel since it’s global release. I’m the past few months (January-March 2023) I haven’t gotten a single newly addition cards. The gacha is rigged. Like I save all the gems for a big pack opening and it doesn’t even matter. I still get the worst cards, no super rare no ultras. And I think it’s funny that my luck stopped as soon as I stopped putting money into the game. It’s like if you pay money you have better odds which is unfair and a negative experience overall. Konami I’ve always supported you but fix your game. It’s unbearable boring to constantly save and get nothing in return. I’ve wasted probably weeks of my life trying to get new cards and it simply won’t give me any. I’m shocked by the lack of inspiration this game needs

### 2/5 — Has potential but the core concept of the game is just flawed.

*2023-02-03, version 1.6.0*

4-person Battle Royale is just not a great idea. You think teaming in a 100-player game is bad? Wait until you see how bad it is in this game. People literally ask to team with others to ladder in the public chat.
This game also has the slowest rounds imaginable. Monsters move at a snail’s pace and card abilities activate one at a time. Add to that we have to watch the animation for every single monster summoned. Who thought this was a good idea?

It’s not all bad though.
The game has several chat options including friend chat—which is sorely lacking in a lot of other multiplayer games so it’s nice to see they put in the time to implement that.
The English translations are also pristine and I’ve yet to encounter a single bug(crashes not withstanding).

Playing this game feels like such a chore most of the time especially when the rewards for winning are so terrible. 2/5

### 2/5 — Game fun, but not rewarding at all

*2022-10-09, version 1.2.0*

I enjoy the game itself and play it pretty often.

I refuse to give this higher than a 3 until they fix the terrible monetization model. Currently, you can grind daily to get about 2-3 packs a day. Packs cost about $0.99 each and only contain 3 cards. Currently, I have not obtained a UR in 52 consecutive packs. You NEED 3 of THE SAME UR to functionally use it as your Ace card without being at a significant competitive disadvantage. Either lower pack prices or make the pack pity timer lower than 70. It’s absolutely INSANE that you only get a guaranteed UR after 70 Packs

### 2/5 — 4 stars but a annoying issue docks it to 2

*2022-09-21, version 1.1.1*

Interesting and unique game, but a major problem with it, if you so much as text someone back in the notification bar the game can’t handle it and crashes. Is it seriously using that much ram? I have an iPhone 12, it should be able to handle keeping a game open and texting someone back leading me to believe it’s a game issue. If this would be fixed easy 4 stars

### 3/5 — Why make a gacha?

*2023-05-21*

Man as a big fan this kinda disappointed me a lot. Some game mechanics where good but it wasn’t yugioh at all. Most monsters just had effects randomly thrown on them. A few had some good quality effects that came from the card game and that was good it just wasn’t enough of them.

Should’ve been a turbo duel focused game. With a race track with 4 lanes instead of whatever this was supposed to be. (No offense) this didn’t feel like a Yu-gi-oh game it felt more like watching kaiba try to desperately create a random game where he could be yugi.

But more importantly imagine switching lanes and cutting someone off and snagging a card they where aiming for. No, imagine someone is using a speed deck and is about to make their final lap and someone stops them with a trap card lol. Just an Idea but worth exploring if you wanna do something different from the traditional card game. Plus it’s already been introduced in many ways.

Another idea would be to make a chess like game that functioned similar to dungeon dice monsters or just update dungeon dice monsters and make it a nice small scale mobile game. Anyways had fun enjoyed the game for what it was feel like it was givin up on too quickly and didn’t get the attention it deserved tbh.

### 3/5 — It’s a great game but…..

*2022-12-24, version 1.4.1*

It’s a great for casual players to play but imo the game is already dead. Tried to play ranked and raid but for the longest time and I was just on queue. Waited for 10 mins then gave up already. The only real modes that are playable were the single player mode and the room matches and even then, you would need a friend to play a game. Idk if it’s region locked but if it is, they would need to open up their servers because their player base is too small. It’s sad because the events they put out aren’t being played and the people that like the game and would want to get the rewards aren’t able to do them. Even spent the 8 something bucks to get the beginner gacha.

### 3/5 — Skimpy reward system

*2022-11-07, version 1.3.0*

How come when the season resets the seasons rewards do not reset? Once I have reached Platinum one in season one there’s really no reason to advance rank anymore. Wait a whole month to get 5 measly packs of cards. Seems a little stingy. Other games I have played similar to this with rank rewards will at least reset the rewards each season. Seems pretty week to rank up from gold to platinum for nothing.

### 3/5 — It’s a good game that could be great.

*2022-10-13, version 1.2.1*

Obviously still a new game so hopefully changes will come. I think if they made it a bit less p2w and add some more cards into the mix the game could grow fast. As it is, people know it’s way to much of a gatcha to really want to give it the time of day this game deserves. Great game play concept. Could be a slight but faster as well with match’s being like 20 mins minimum.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Please don’t shut down the game

*2023-04-16*

I’ve been playing the game recently and the game is incredibly fun, you really do need to think a few turns ahead in this game. It’s a shame that the game is getting shut down instead of fixing the negatives of the game. Like the fact that you need to pull duplicates of the cards to upgrade it but the pull rates are so low, something that can be easily fixed (for example, the candies in Pokémon masters ex that upgrade characters instead of pulling dupes). I hope Konami rethinks this and instead continue to support the game.

### 5/5 — Konami please ready

*2023-02-09, version 1.6.1*

I love this game. Make a better pity system, so you can make more money. Please make more online features/modes to play with friends outside of room duels. Such as a true ranked or casual tag team duel mode. I would like to see more ways to play with friends. So far it’s just room duels, and raid duels. Really fun game.

### 5/5 — Best Game EVA!

*2023-01-21, version 1.5.1*

Man, Now I don’t need to beg my mom for any games now this is my go-to game. God tier Quality, Amazing Touches, Marvellous Amount of Monsters, And finally BEST TUTORIALS! This helped me learned the game quick and fast! The only downside is that u don’t get gems each Casual rank match u finish. The only Match u gain fast gems (in my opinion) Is Tag Duels And Challenge Duels. Great game tho!

### 5/5 — Favorite game! But….

*2023-01-03, version 1.5.0*

*I think the Exodus might be bugged?* It worked I think only once for me where the count went up using normal monsters. I’ve tried summoning one and multiple at a time in different positions.

Anyways, cool graphics and gameplay for an app. Does take a while to get good cards even spending money sometimes. I do recommend!

### 5/5 — Excellent Game but Why Konami Just Why

*2022-11-13, version 1.3.0*

It’s an awesome game, 5 star worthy and one of the better Yugioh games out of everything available, imo but why doesn’t Konami rerelease Azure Dreams and not the stripped down lame GBA version, I mean the original?? Have you see the prices they are currently going for? I lent mine out to a friend ages ago and never saw it again. Tried to get another one and $80 is a steal if you can find it for that cheap at this point, good luck. Are the devs just ignoring die hard niche fans or what?? Dudes rerelease the game already, no lame stripped versions either. Like Suikoden or Star Ocean, its like they don’t even know they have this major fan base they can tap into but just don’t.
Rant over.

### 5/5 — Best Yu-Gi-Oh! Game and Fun For The Whole Family!!

*2022-11-07, version 1.3.0*

This game was so exceptional that I had to write a review when I never do. I played the original card game and took a break to return to this game.

Friends and family would say that Yu-Gi-Oh! was complex and the length of card effects seemed to be increasing year after year on average. This was the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game that got normal players curious and interested in playing. I have fun playing with family and friends, and I think this game has a great potential to do well in the family fun category of games as well.

Magnificent work, Konami!

### 5/5 — Over power

*2022-10-09, version 1.2.0*

Okay I love this game but how can I enjoy it when you have people always powering up back to back especially ranked. Like idk if is favoritism idk but I can only attack once while the other opponent attack me more than once like how’s that fair man. I’m getting tired of it, I’m about to delete it. Just saying. Find better ways to put rank people on the same rank to level up. Also 8 phases not enough . Seriously. 10 would be great, im about to delete the game. This is ridiculous how can this people have power up’s already like come Konami

### 5/5 — Very cute & wanting more 🤍

*2022-10-06, version 1.2.0*

I like the direction, can’t wait for more art, backgrounds, cards & characters. From what I’ve seen my tip would be to reduce the secondary grind and instead make ranked more rewarding since the premise of the game is to duel other players after all. Players will spend money on the specific cards they want regardless but this will increase their over all experience. Also I wouldn’t mind spending money on further customization or having it implemented instead of it being a taxing second hand grind that drags you from pvp.

### 5/5 — One huge issue..

*2022-10-05, version 1.2.0*

I legit love this game. I think it’s my preferred mobile game right now. But the summoning animations.. seriously.. those have to stop. I cannot.. over and over and over again.. watch every single duelist keep summoning monsters.. please if possible do something about this. Make it faster, skip the zoom in of each monster being summoned, whatever it takes. It is truly killing the game for me. I cannot play it for as long as I’d like because watching them over and over again is just a drain and boring.. but other than that I’ve already recommended this game to multiple friends, but please make changes with summoning animations!!

### 5/5 — Yugioh Evolution

*2022-09-27, version 1.1.1*

Hello all,
I feel like this is the next evolution of the card game and a good one. It won’t replace the normal version of the game by any means, but adding a lane defending mechanic to the game was brilliant. Nearly every card has new effects and mechanics making everything card useful again. The gatcha mechanic of getting new cards is still annoying but at least you get gems relatively easy by completing daily tasks. The game does feel a little slow with having 8 rounds, at least in lower ranks the game will go to about 6 on average.
Overall well done game right here.
