### 1/5 — Completely Unfair

*2025-02-20, version 2.8.5*

I am constantly getting penalized for the time of day I’m driving! I work at a school and also have to drop off my kid at 7:30 - 8 AM and somehow I lose points for driving during that time! Like what?! That’s the normal time most people and families with kids are on the go! We should not be penalized for that. A lot of us don’t have a choice at the times we HAVE to drive. This feature needs to be REMOVED asap. It’s unrealistic.

### 1/5 — Very inaccurate

*2025-02-18, version 2.8.5*

very inaccurate and always says im on my phone when im not

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-01-26, version 2.8.5*

The app tells you that you use your phone and break hard when you don’t. Unfair app

### 1/5 — Rigged, wildly inaccurate, and unfair

*2025-01-12, version 2.8.5*

This app is a joke. No matter what you do or how well you drive, it’s rigged against you. It’s specifically designed to take points away from you to give you a lower and inaccurate driving score to raise your insurance rate. If you follow every rule in the app, drive as carefully as you can, slowly accelerate and decelerate, don’t have your Bluetooth connected to apple car play or some other way, and have no outside forces impact your drive even the slightest bit, the best you’ll get is an 80/100.

It takes points off for driving during peak hours, aka any basic rush hour/normal commuting times to and from work, and any time driving at night. It says “driving during busy times is risky and dangerous” and takes points off. Same thing goes for driving more than 60 minutes. It says it’s “unsafe to drive for extended periods of time” which basically means the app wants you to stop driving every hour if you have to drive more than an hour. Even accelerating to get onto a highway from an on-ramp gets points deducted, even though you have to accelerate to safely merge onto a highway. Also if you don’t the in-app feedback button doesn’t work so you can’t report inaccurate measurements and problems.

I’ll be switching insurance companies as soon as I possibly can. If you have this app, get one “decent” score, then open the app every night and mark every trip you make as “ride as a passenger” because you will never be able to maintain a reasonable score before your rates go up.

### 1/5 — Doesn't let me login

*2024-12-13, version 2.8.5*

Very poor

### 1/5 — Unfair

*2024-11-25, version 2.8.5*

I can understand being rated on speed since speed limits on roads can be tracked by GPS info. Also limiting phone use while driving (it should always be 0 unless an emergency anyway). And maybe smoothness even though sometimes you have to stop short to keep from literally crashing into someone.. that may be a case by case basis. But this app also takes points off for "time of day". I work a night shift and usually don't get home until 12:30am-1am. And I get penalized for it. That is completely unfair. If anything it should be safer driving that late because the roads are empty! There is no way this app isn't a huge scam.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2024-11-16, version 2.8.5*

Not even a full week into being permanently “tracked.” Switching insurance asap. I use the train and bus often. But the app somehow isn’t intelligent enough to figure that out. I have had to answer what the trip type was and then select what mode of transportation I was using even if it wasn’t my car. None of Plymouth Rock’s business how you move about outside of your vehicle. Literally just go pay more for another insurer. A joke and a half.

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE/False

*2024-11-07, version 2.8.5*

The worst!!! So Inaccurate. It takes points for things you can't help for instance, the time of day we drive, morning or evening, it also says cell phone usage even when you're not using it. I parked my car and walked into the store I was checking my notifications and it told me to get off the phone. I'm annoyed cuz im not even driving. I think its design to makes us fail so they can increase the prem at renewal. I HATE IT!!😡 Somebody is gonna end up suing this app and I’m here for it!!

### 1/5 — This app it’s garbage

*2024-10-17, version 2.8.5*

Doesn’t matter how slow I drive always give bad score. The insurance company use app like this to increase prices in the insurance policy.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-09-09, version 2.8.5*

I was required to download this app by my car insurance company. I have no clue how it scores. It is totally inconsistent and arbitrary. It tells me my driving is great, but scores an 80/100. It should be giving me a 100 for mobile phone use, because I never use my phone while driving, and yet the score stays at 94. (I suppose this is because the phone is scoring my driving, so technically it’s being used. ). The mileage/time isn’t even consistent- when I go to the grocery store, it gives me different mileages going and coming, even though I can only go one way. I’ll be changing my insurance once the six months is up just to be able to delete this app.

### 1/5 — Fraud

*2024-09-04, version 2.8.5*

This app incorrectly identifies using navigation with CarPlay as “mobile phone use.” Obviously it is designed this way so they can raise or at least never lower your rates.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2024-08-18, version 2.8.5*

This app operates in the ether. You can actually be very safe and actually avoid something but be penalized as if you were being dangerous. If you drive for a rideshare at night when the business is you’re penalized automatically for the wrong time of day. This app will penalize you for acceleration that is moderate that is needed to merge. Otherwise it would be unsafe. No matter any type of deviation from its algorithm is the drivers fault

### 1/5 — Super inaccurate

*2024-08-14, version 2.8.5*

Super inaccurate. I drove the speed limit, did not use my phone once, stopped slowly in advance to make sure i don’t stop hard or all of a sudden and got a 78. Imagine if i go over the speed limit by even 5 miles.

### 1/5 — Brake (medium) acceleration (medium)

*2024-07-31, version 2.8.5*

Brake (medium) acceleration (medium) Brake (medium) acceleration (medium) Brake (medium) acceleration (medium) Brake (medium) acceleration (medium) Brake (medium) acceleration (medium) Brake (medium) acceleration (medium)

### 1/5 — Have to babysit the app

*2024-07-22, version 2.8.5*

My main issue with the app is, if someone else drives bad, u get points deducted if you forget to ignore the ride which happens all the time. Not sure how to fix but that is the main flaw and give a ton of bad information and insurance uses it to say u are a bad driver.

### 1/5 — False Reports

*2024-07-20, version 2.8.5*

Need to get this app for my new auto insurance. Here’s the 2 problems I constantly have. 1 it keeps saying I’m using my mobile phone while driving. I drive a motorcycle & my phone goes in my saddlebag, I have no access to my phone while driving. & 2 I report to work at 3:15am with next to no one on th road yet that’s a negative cause I’m at “higher risk” at that time but when I get out of work with all these other cars on the road then that a positive? This app is flawed.

### 1/5 — This app thinks playing music is considering using your phone

*2024-07-13, version 2.8.5*

I hate this app, while it tracks if you are “good” drive and it’s very subjective. Of course I play music from my phone to my car speakers when I drive but apparently the app tracks that as using my phone even if it’s not on. Literally would give me a subpar score when at the end of the day it will mean I won’t get a deduction on my insurance. I don’t understand how this apps tracks if you’re using your phone or not. When it’s off or when it’s idle playing music? Like do I need a separate device to play my music now, and that’s even more money I need to spend? It’s nuts, my insurance made me download the app so I can get the car insurance.

Please for god sakes fix the app. It’s useless if it’s going to record inaccurate data.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible and Inaccurate

*2026-03-11, version 2.8.10*

No matter what I do, it’s impossible to get a good smooth driving score. The app gives me a 1 even if I only have one “medium braking” event. It doesn’t seem to account for defensive driving, and it takes points off for the time of day you drive — which is frustrating because I have to drive to work during those hours.

When I called customer service, they insisted nothing was wrong with the app, even though the scoring clearly doesn’t reflect my actual driving. Overall this has been a very frustrating experience and hasn’t felt fair or useful for evaluating safe driving. Doesn’t seem worth it. AND THEY CHANGE THEIR REVIEW RATINGS!!!! SHOULD BE AT A 1 BUT SAYS 4.

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2026-03-08, version 2.8.10*

The biggest issue is when it’s Paused it STILL records rides. Got 4 bad scores when it wasn’t supposed to be recording rides on Pause! Just went in again now to check and sure enough last 3 rides recorded even though I paused it.

### 1/5 — Set up for failure

*2025-11-18, version 2.8.10*

I bet you the guy who calibrated this app couldn’t score over a 80%

### 1/5 — Adds unnecessary stress

*2025-09-18, version 2.8.5*

One more thing to worry about… driving too late -points off…driving over an hour-points off …drive at night-points off…get cut off and apply breaks-points off… accelerate to merge-points off… drive during rush hour-points off…and don’t forget to review each trip to log if you were driving, flying, sailing, or just walking quickly- you need to do it in a timely manner or the lock it in and then you need navigate their customer service maze to have it fixed. Not a fan of this app or the requirement imposed by the insurance carrier.

### 1/5 — What a scam!

*2025-08-27, version 2.8.5*

I gave in and tried the app to get the discount on Plymouth Rock insurance. I took two very leisurely rides around my town during off peak hours (mid morning and mid day) and received a 77 out of 100 for “Time of Day.” I also turned everything off on my phone except the Yubi app, turned the Bluetooth off, didn’t play music through my phone, put my phone in my purse and DID NOT TOUCH IT the entire time. I STILL got 8 points taken away for mobile use. This is a scam. There is no way anyone could actually drive in New Jersey and not end up getting themselves in trouble using this “discount.”

### 1/5 — worst app ever

*2025-07-03, version 2.8.5*

I'm the first to say i’m not the best driver but it infuriates me that it takes of points for things that aren’t even my fault . It takes of point when i drive anytime between 3-4 like i work in an elementary school like what would you like me to do ? even when you’re stopped and use your phone it’ll count it . don’t even get me started on the "smooth driving" it’s a joke along with the whole app . the way you know this app is trash and they don’t care ? there’s a feedback button in the app but it’s never working . press it anytime of anyday and trust that feedback button is not working and they don’t care about fixing it or anything else . so ridiculous if i could give this app negative stars i would

### 1/5 — Um…are you kidding?

*2025-06-29, version 2.8.5*

This app is terrible. If my boyfriend touches my phone while I'm driving, it counts as me using my phone, and I can't correct it. Additionally, when I was on a call, it recorded me as using my phone just for being on that call. I also dislike having to specify whether I was driving or a passenger.

Forget about needing to brake hard if necessary. The other day, a car cut off the one in front of me, and I was scared to brake too hard because I didn’t want to get penalized. It’s causing me so much anxiety while driving that I have no choice but to get rid of it.

### 1/5 — Slow

*2025-05-13, version 2.8.5*

Takes way too long to load simple screens, gets very frustrating when you need to confirm that you were a passenger.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-04-07, version 2.8.5*

This app unfairly drops your rating for driving during the day, claiming there’s traffic even when there isn’t. Then it penalizes you at night too—seriously? Life is already stressful, now we have to worry about our insurance rating on top of it. The app expects you to stay indoors all day. It even lowers your score if someone cuts you off and you brake hard. It also keeps recording after you’ve gotten out of the car and are walking. You have to mentally remember to stop it just to hopefully keep a decent rating. This whole system is exhausting and unrealistic.

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-12-01, version 2.8.10*

Thank you for making my first telematics experience easy and fun, and I got a discount!

### 4/5 — Beware..

*2025-03-16, version 2.8.5*

I can see why this app only has a 1 star rating. First time ever using an app like this due to having Plymouth Rock. I went into this knowing I wasn’t a perfect driver but I’m already doomed because I work a night job & it lowers your score for driving at night. You can’t even use the controls in your car to change your music or volume, it’s still considered using your phone. This app is definitely made for them to raise your rates. I have enough stress in my life I don’t need an app to add to it.

### 2/5 — Can someone explain

*2024-07-26, version 2.8.5*

What happened if you continue to get a bad score? Do they cancel your policy like how do they work if this app just assume that you’re driving bad all the time

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2021-01-27*

I’ve never written a review for an app but I want people to know how this app is.

I live in a rural/suburban type area and downloaded this app bc my auto insurance would deduct money if I use it.
I drive a few miles to work and back & I drive safe- I have young nieces so I’m used to being very careful. I even have a full cup of coffee in my car on my way to work in the AM and it doesn’t spill. I know I’m safe.
You can drive the safest you ever drive and you’ll still get points deducted that negatively affect your score, things that aren’t even in your control. I get points deducted for the roadway being bumpy, the time of day I drive going and leaving work bc it’s “prime time”, and I even was deducted points for yielding as I merged because I wasn’t driving “straight” when in reality it was a curved road.

It is very frustrating and if you ride with someone else and forget to click that button right after, it’ll affect your score.

The only pro is that I treat it like a game and try harder and harder to score perfectly bu its frustrating bc I can’t control the roadways or the time of day I drive. I shouldn’t be negatively affected for having a normal 9-5 job or that my taxes are high yet our roadways aren’t even.
