## What is Yuchang?

Yuchang helps non-native English speakers read, say, and draft the English of academic and technical work — with a special strength in mathematical notation. Read equations aloud, fix grammar and word choice, and turn rough phrasing into polished English for papers, talks, and Q&A. Everything runs on your device — no account, no sign-up, and your text never leaves your iPhone.

READ EQUATIONS ALOUD
• Paste LaTeX or type an equation and Yuchang reads it back in natural spoken English — "the integral from zero to one of x squared with respect to x."
• Covers the notation that's hard to verbalize: fractions, integrals, sums, limits, matrices, Greek letters, superscripts and subscripts.
• Tap to listen, then practice your own pronunciation and compare.

TIDY UP YOUR DRAFT
• The Syntax Checker rewrites rough sentences into clear, formal academic English — fixing grammar and stiff word choice — and shows exactly what it changed.
• Works fully offline with a built-in rule engine, and adds on-device AI for more detailed suggestions on Apple Intelligence devices.
• Input is screened for appropriate content and is never sent to a server.

FIND THE RIGHT PHRASING
• Academic Phrases — a library of English phrasing for proofs, definitions, and arguments to start from.
• Presentation Phrases — turn rough phrasing in your own language into polished English for talks and Q&A. Requires Apple Intelligence.
• Glossary — look up mathematical terms with meanings in your language and English pronunciation.
