Bought wi-Fi. Grill and wast of money. Got the grill, especially for Wi-Fi. Please fix ### 1/5 — The app is terrible *2024-07-07, version 1.1.6* The app connects to my grill but it will not display current temperature of the smoker or the temperature of the probes no matter how long I wait or how many times I close the app and restart it. Often buttons won’t push, signal won’t be picked up or temp won’t read. If you bought the WiFi version on purpose, this app basically negates it. It’ll go only so far with the app and waiting to connect to the Internet and it won’t connect. It’ll find the grill. It’ll find my routers. It’ll do everything but connect to their network or whatever is happening that’s wrong and I don’t think they even know what’s happening and they told me be fixed by the end of May that was two months ago then they told me you’ll be the end of this month and that’s June 22 today but geez Sommer will be over by the time they get it fixed and all I keep getting is a promise of it getting fixed, it’s stupid ### 1/5 — Yes my WiFi is doing *2024-06-16, version 1.1.6* The same thing how can that be fixed because that’s why I got the 11002b and anyone have answers to that question ### 1/5 — WiFi *2024-06-14, version 1.1.6* I love the smoker itself. It does a great job heat is pretty constant and gives plenty of room. The WiFi is one of the worst as well as the app. Every time you phone goes off you have to put in username and password it’s to the point I don’t use it. And now, I can’t even get it to connect to the app at all despite following all directions and support suggestions. Useless. You’d think the engineers and devs would put a little more time into their app if they want to compete with the other big brands… this one falls short. ### 1/5 — Barely works *2024-06-07, version 1.1.6* I just bought this new grill and one of the main reasons for this model was for the WIFI feature. I’m pretty tech savvy, and it took me 40 minutes of troubleshooting to get it to connect to my grill, and then only to find out that it loses connection fairly easily. I have a nice router and high speed internet that I can get 2 houses down at a BBQ, so that’s not the problem.. and it says you can connect this grill via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but if you turn off your Bluetooth, the app tells you you have to enable your Bluetooth in order for the Wi-Fi to work. Makes no sense .I hope Zee grills gets this app fixed soon.. ### 1/5 — Bad app *2024-05-26, version 1.1.6* The app worked the first time I used my grill, after that only once and it took forever to update the grill temps. About all it’s really good for is, if it connects, you can turn the grill off. ### 1/5 — Literally the worst *2024-05-12, version 1.1.6* Before this I had a green mountain grill. They also have an app and it worked perfectly every time so I didn’t worry when my husband wanted to try zgrills. Their app is garbage, can’t get it to work 9 times out of 10 when it does happen to work it’s great but when you know out the gate you’re probably going to end up throwing your phone in frustration after an hour of trying maybe there’s something that needs to be fixed. Looking at you zgrills. ### 1/5 — I just bought the grill and the Wi-Fi don’t work *2024-05-10* I just bought the grill and then he tell me All we gotta wait another month for it to be fixed. The application has to be fixed. I don’t even work even if they give you a new controller. They told me it wouldn’t work. So I have a useless Grill Wi-Fi grill that’s brand new and still under warranty and they won’t do nothing about it. Just please wait for the engineers first they told me one week to fix the app which would be reasonable but not over two months. ### 1/5 — Broken Beyond Repair 😢 *2024-01-07, version 1.1.5* Long story short, the app simply doesn’t work. Sometimes you’ll get a week where it wants to function, but even then the UI is so bad, you won’t want to use it beyond checking your set temp. As others have stated, you’re better off buying a smart temperature probe and just manually change your grills temp. Sad part is, the grill itself is fantastic. Just wish this app was half as good as the hardware 🤷 ### 1/5 — Zgrills *2023-12-28, version 1.1.5* Wants permissions to access everything on my phone. No way! The temp it provides is never accurate and there is very little functionality. I’ve owned the 11002-B Multitasker with Wi-Fi for 3 weeks an have yet been able to successfully pair the smoker with the app. I can’t set the timer, monitor or adjust the temp through the app. I’ve called and emailed, Z-Grills support asking for help and have yet to receive a response from anyone. I’d tell anyone evaluating any Wi-Fi enabled smoker, to look elsewhere and not choose a Z-Grills smoker. ### 1/5 — A piece of tracking spyware *2023-06-19, version 1.1.4* I would give this app a negative 5 stars if possible. It will trick you into giving it full access to your phone and you will not be able to use it unless you give access it your location. Come on guys, I know you can do better than this bundle of glitches and hangups. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-12-24, version 1.1.6* Absolutely useless I can’t connect to WiFi ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2024-10-13, version 1.1.6* I have to say that I am very disappointed and frustrated with the zgrill app. Not only was it a pain to connect to my WIFI, the app itself would not identify my model of grill. I discovered that my grill comes up under the WIFI as a different device just by simply unplugging it. I couldn’t get the app to do anything with the grill at all. I found it much easier to do everything manually. Sort of defeats the purpose of getting the latest and greatest WiFi product they offered. ### 1/5 — Absolutely brutal to use *2024-09-14, version 1.1.6* An hour and a half ago I changed the grill temp from 275 (starting temp) to 225 (temp I’m smoking at). The app still hasn’t updated, and refreshing does nothing. There are 2 versions of the app. Neither works. Temperature report from the smoker is often out of sync with app. Also why do we keep having to log on? Every (not exaggerating) time that I go to use the app I have to re-login. Not the worst feature I’ll admit. The bad part is that EVERY (not exaggerating) time I use it, I have to spend time reconnecting the app to the grill. First, you need to disable your 5G, then they say the WPA3 needs to be disabled. That’s a bunch of hoops that I don’t think should be occurring in this age of technology. Either fix the app to accommodate tech, or upgrade the wifi on the grills, or both. I have a strong signal where my grill sits and I can watch the temps on my phone in the house. ### 4/5 — It work fine. *2022-11-02, version 1.1.4* I can look at the temp of meat and can adjust from anywhere where I have cell service. It need improvement it should have alarm when hit your temp. It hard to set up at first but when set up works fine. ### 3/5 — Works mostly, but temperature display not accurate *2023-04-22, version 1.1.4* The temperature setting works immediately, meaning that you can immediately set the temperature of the grill with the app. However, the app lags behind the actual temperatures, so in order to know what the probe temperatures and grill temperatures are, you have to look at the screen on the grill itself to be accurate. As a general note about the grill, the temperature probes do not seem to measure the temperature accurately when only a portion of the probe is inserted into the meat, such as a hamburger. I have to use an old school meat thermometer to check the temp. If you watch it closely, the results are always very good. ### 2/5 — Best Grill : Worst App *2022-12-11, version 1.1.4* I’ve used a friends traeger and their app is far superior. How do I change my weather temp from C to F? Why can’t I set a notification on the probes for a certain temperature? Or any notifications at all!?
