A card like this should allow the child to view their balance and teach them that they can only spend what they have on their card, but they can’t actually do that. The child has to ask the parent for a one off password each time they want to open the app on their device. This is not convenient for a parent who works or is driving at the time. The app should be updated to allow the child freedom to check their balance and safely teach them about spending money. Until such improvements are made ... this is pretty pointless. ### 1/5 — Bad Experience *2021-05-15, version 1.0.5* The app appears simple but is not. Getting funds refunded due to an error by Zaap is met with “Microsoft outage” excuses. And then they swipe a $10 closure fee. You’re able to see if it was a purchase or top up thanks to the faintest of + / - symbols. Every other menu has same problem unless the top up or transfer function. Wouldn’t know what or where your kids are doing without that info. One minute I can get into my parent account then the next minute the email and password I used five minutes ago is apparently wrong. Will be taking this further very soon. 👎🏻 ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2023-04-02* Can only log in once every few days, just times out constantly on all our devices (mine and the kids), so no-one can check their balance quickly in shops or at registers etc. I can’t transfer money to the kids quickly if they need it because I can’t get into the app. Then if it does let my log in on my desktop computer, there aren’t even balances displayed or options to transfer there. I’m sure it used to be better than it’s been the last few months. Very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Great idea, flawed execution *2023-02-15* When the app works, it is great, but that is a rare event. Lots of issues: unable to view child balance, unable to update parent credit card, unable to transfer between accounts and just generally hanging. Do yourself a favour and open a child’s account with any major bank . No fees and all happens instantly. My son tried to pay for his lunch at the canteen and the card was declined despite having funds on it. I cannot log-in, I just keep getting endless error messages. I’m really disappointed. It’s not worth the stress. This has been going on for over 3 years and never gets better. Terrible customer service with no contact number only email. I tried the second time but change the password, didn’t work. Now I try to get inside the parents account, there is an error. Try the second time, error. Plz fix this. This is really annoying. ### 1/5 — Be warned! *2022-05-19* Got this for my son, worked great for a little while then they made a mistake with funds transferring, I have it in writing from them, they were going to refund the money (a few hundred) and never did. Son can’t use card even though there’s $80 on it. One of our children uses the separate band whilst the other just added the smaller keeper option to her Fitbit. The personalised card is brill too. ### 3/5 — Good but there is one major problem *2021-10-31* It’s a good app and has rlly helped with pocket money but there is one major issue. Every time you go into the app you have to get a password to log in. The password changes every time and you need to get it from your parents. They have to go into the app in their phone and get the password and show it to you. It’s annoying and time consuming and sometimes your parents are in the car or something and they can’t give you the password. I understand how it’s supposed to be safe and all, but I think it would be better to have a set password, or none at all (for opening the app, not all the time). But it’s really hard to navigate, log in, and edit things. Kids find it hard too. If I had my time again, I’d just set up normal bank accounts and regular transfers. And trying to get into the kids account is impossible as it’s saying wrong passcode..
