The inheritance-tax figure follows Japanese tax law: the basic deduction of 30,000,000 JPY plus 6,000,000 JPY per statutory heir, the Japanese rate table and the statutory shares. Zaicho is built for assets held in Japan and for people who file, or expect to file, in Japan. It does not model any other country's estate or inheritance tax.

What's new in 1.1

- Zaicho now speaks 33 languages, and the store page states plainly that amounts are in Japanese yen and that the estimate follows Japanese inheritance-tax law.
- Backup and restore as a JSON file - free for everyone, so a new phone no longer means starting over.
- Past monthly records can be corrected or deleted.
- Swiping a half-finished sheet away no longer discards your input without asking.
- Deleting an asset now asks first and can be undone.
- Restoring a purchase tells you what happened, and the purchase screen explains itself when the App Store cannot be reached.
- Buttons meet contrast requirements in dark mode, and Japanese counters no longer appear in other languages.
- Exported files are named by date, and Settings can erase all data.
