## What is ZaPixel?

ZaPixel is a wallpaper app built on one idea: see a wallpaper on your screen before you commit to it.

Browse a curated library of 4K wallpapers — nature, abstract, dark, space, minimal, city, architecture, cyberpunk and more. A new one is hand-picked every day.

PREVIEW BEFORE YOU SAVE
Drop any wallpaper onto a mock lock screen, home screen or watch face and see exactly where the clock and the icons land. No more saving one, setting it, and finding the time sits right across the subject.

TODAY'S PICK
One wallpaper chosen every day, so there is always something new worth looking at without going hunting for it.

4K OR SD
Download at full resolution, or drop to a lighter file on a slow connection. Your choice sticks until you change it.

BROWSE BY CATEGORY
Find what you are in the mood for. Mark the categories you like as preferred to see more of them, and hide the ones you never want — your Explore feed follows.

SAVED
Keep the wallpapers you like in one place. Stored on your device, with no account to make.

STRAIGHT TO PHOTOS
One tap puts a wallpaper in your photo library, ready to set from there.

LIGHT, DARK, OR SYSTEM
The whole app follows your choice, and is built to look right on an OLED screen.

NO SIGN-UP
Open it and start browsing. Nothing to create, nothing to log in to.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.0.2 — 2026-10-19

Improved
• Enjoying ZaPixel? After you've saved a few wallpapers, we'll ask once if you'd like to rate it. It takes a tap, and it helps a lot.

### 4.0.1 — 2026-10-04

New: home screen widgets
• Today's Pick — the day's wallpaper, right on your home screen. It changes every morning.
• Shuffle — a random wallpaper from the category you choose, or from all of them. Tap the shuffle button for another one, or let it change on its own every hour.
Tap either widget to open the wallpaper in ZaPixel. Long-press your home screen and tap + to add them.

New: a wallpaper that changes by itself
• ZaPixel now works with the Shortcuts app. Set up an automation once and your wallpaper changes every day — or as often as you like — with today's pick or a random wallpaper from your favourite category. Settings → Auto wallpaper shows you how.

New: ZaPixel in Arabic
• The whole app now speaks Arabic, laid out right to left, in the same Zain typeface — categories included. It follows your iPhone's language, or pick it for ZaPixel alone in Settings → ZaPixel → Language.

Improved
• Fixed: if you updated from an older version, the daily 9:00 wallpaper notification could stop arriving. It now reaches everyone who has notifications turned on.

### 4.0.0 — 2026-09-14

ZaPixel 4.0 is a complete rebuild.

• Preview any wallpaper on a lock screen, home screen or watch face before you save it
• Today's pick — one wallpaper chosen every day
• A redesigned Explore feed, with categories you can mark as preferred or hide
• Favorites is now Saved, and still works with no account
• Choose 4K or SD for each download
• Rewritten from scratch in Swift: opens faster and is lighter on battery

### 3.5.4 — 2026-02-28

* Refresh UI
* Control preview image quality

### 3.5.3 — 2026-01-29

- Performance optimizations
