For this iteration of the app’s experience(mid 2026), one could just use the web site, it looks nearly identical on start up. Original: White screen on start up . Super irritating for those that have dark theme selected. The app ignores its own theme setting, and instead shows an Amazon-esque splash screen with glaring white background. If one wanted that, one could simply use the Amazon app, which completely ignores theme settings . Further, even more irritating is the non-dismissible banner for whatever the current, not-relevant-to-me promotion is. three stars because filtering is useful. Probably only a matter of time before Amazon merges Zappos into the Amazon app. ### 3/5 — deleting this app *2026-07-13, version 10.13.1* White screen on start up . But now I want to again, and I came back to your app to do it, and had to update my app, and apparently now if I add something to my cart, I no longer get a cute springy cat putting my item in the cart. Wtf. It was adorable and I loved it. Bring it back. (No, I haven’t ordered yet. I wear Brooks, and your price is no better than my local running store. And you got rid of the cat.) ### 3/5 — Where’s the flying cat? *2026-01-07, version 10.8.0* Bring back the cat that flys to put my shoes in my cart. Also why does the scroll just roll well beyond when I attempted to stop it? ### 1/5 — Cumbersome app. Notifications and log in are circa 2005. *2026-01-06, version 10.8.0* Every time I open the app I’m logged out and have to log in again. Notifications will not stop coming despite me opting out more than once. Shopping in the app is really outdated and frustrating. You can click the same category and get different results every time, within minutes. Entirely different. Not just slightly different. The Amazon log in freezes every time I use it. I’ve all but given up using this app. ### 2/5 — Generic barely useful app *2026-01-05, version 10.8.0* The app is a reskinned generic app, can’t find anything because product tagging is all over the place. Like you’re looking for sweatpants, good luck. They’re called “joggers” in the app. Who calls them joggers in the US? App used to be good but was taken over by the lowest bidder apparently. An Amex platinum wasn’t up to their standards ### 2/5 — Limited search ability with latest update *2025-10-04, version 10.6.0* With the latest update, I’m no longer able to search for multiple shoe categories at one time, which is really disappointing. If I want to search for heels and flats at the same time, for example, I can’t do that now when it was never a problem before and it was one of the things I really loved about using the filters for. ### 1/5 — Forces you to receive marketing notifications *2025-09-29, version 10.5.0* Even when you turn the marketing push notifications setting in the app off, it continues to send them. The only way to stop them is to disallow all notifications from the app, so you also don’t receive important order notifications. This was confirmed by a Zappos rep. That’s a deceptive and poor strategy if you ask me. Why is the marketing notifications switch even there? ### 4/5 — You removed my favorite feature! *2025-09-14, version 10.5.0* One thing that I really enjoyed about this app was the cute little feature of raining cats down the screen when I shake my iPad. You have a setting on the app to turn them off–which I turned off and they still keep coming. (I don’t want to turn them off on the OS side because I still want order notifications). Developer: Got your response. It is NOT a matter of waiting 10 days. It has been 3 weeks and still getting daily annoying notifications with the setting turned off. I won’t be calling your support issue because this is not a user-side issue. This is on your end to fix. Thank you for understanding. ### 2/5 — Terrible redesign *2025-08-04, version 10.4.0* Zappos used to be a welcoming and innovative brand. It wasn’t trying to be cool. Now it has been rebooted by some (likely) poncy design firm who knows nothing about its customers or history. I’m a 6 W and very few shoes offer that, and now you have to select extra-extra wide instead of 6w or 6e so I have to search through over 4,000 shoes instead of like 50. That’s unreasonable for shopping making me use another online store. Also I’m writing it here because there is no way to give app feedback without doing an entire survey or calling them. I just want to give feedback not fill out a questionnaire. Companies know that customers hate it. They even have the fake toggle to trick customers into thinking they can turn off marketing notifications!
