Got the opportunity to try out this app early, and went on my first Zate today. It was awesome, we had already clicked on interests before the date - Zate made that easy for us. We promised each other we’d both review the app haha. So awesome! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible App, DONT Download *2024-02-02* No one on this app, all spam accounts. Downloaded for a free drink at a bar and the staff didn’t even give it to me. Totally the worst. **Developer response:** Out of all of the events we have done and the thousands of people that we have interacted with, there has been ONLY ONE that we have ever denied from our booth. We denied them because they were incredibly rude and disrespectful to our staff. We love getting to engage with our community and gathering feedback by hosting pop ups around the city. It helps grow our user base while learning how best to serve our user base. We don't have any "spam accounts" and take that accusation very seriously. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2023-11-02* Nice try promoting at ACL, deleted the app but redownloaded it. And I’m seeing 1. Old expired Zates from maybe a year ago. 2. The same handful of users I’ve already hit interested on, each time the app is re-opened. I’m in a metropolis with over a million people, and you can’t show me a single New profile? It’s like there are only 20 users total. Fix these bugs. It seems completely indudable. Save your time everyone. **Developer response:** We totally get your frustration here. ACL was a soft launch for us so that we could test the new version of the app we have been working on for the past year. We had hoped to be ready earlier, but as you mentioned, had to take time to address bug fixes before we could push marketing and gain more users. We expect to turn marketing on soon here so that we can help you connect with new people and have a much smoother app experience. Barely any users and honestly Not worth checking out at this point in time. Decent concept, terrible UI experience ### 2/5 — Extra star for concept *2024-02-17* The concept is cool but the app seems buggy. Long load times, some crashes, and issues logging in are negatives. I uninstalled the app for a couple of days and tried to reinstall but now I can’t log in. I think if you use the Apple login email relay when you first create an account it won’t recognize your device upon redownload and you’ll lose the link to your account. ### 2/5 — It won’t let me make a Zate *2022-11-29* Every time I try to create a Zate it clears out the app and glitches when I hit create. ### 3/5 — Probably should change the age ratings *2021-12-05* Interesting concept, but app needs cleanup **Developer response:** Thanks for calling out the age ratings issue, it'll be fixed in the next release. For that I’m bumping up my review a couple of stars. I think the app could be good if there were more active users in my city. As it stands right now, I’ve not gotten more than one match and there’s maybe one new profile a week on the app. The concept is cool but the app seems buggy.
